Centrally situated, our exceptional front-facing, 1st-floor (lift access), very large apartments are fitted, equipped & maintained to the very highest standards for our guests' comfort and relaxation. Complete with modern, high quality furnishings and decor and with luxurious bed-linen and towels, a warm welcome awaits you. Fully equipped kitchens including dishwasher and washing machine. Master bedrooms have King-sized beds whilst others have Super-king, King or 2 x Single beds according to guests' preference. The historic County House building is located very close to York city centre in a quiet, gated complex with the benefit of private, security-gated parking for 1 car per apartment.

No 28 offers a welcoming entrance hall, 3 spacious bedrooms, 1 en-suite shower room, luxury family bathroom with de-luxe shower over the bath, open-plan living, dining-room, kitchen.

No 29 offers 2 bedrooms, 2 luxury shower-rooms, spacious lounge and balconied dining-room/kitchen above with great views beyond the massive windows. NEW for 2016 .... is the newly fitted, bespoke kitchen with granite worktops and also the newly created, bright, 2nd shower-room providing even better facilities for our guests comfort and enjoyment.

Historic York is a major tourist city with many attractions and festivals. The Yorkshire Dales, Moors and coastal resorts such as Whitby, Filey and Scarborough are all easily accessible by car or train. Ideal for families, couples, small groups of friends. "You-time" begins when you step through the door! Stunning self-catering accommodation in a listed, historic building in the heart of York. Secure car-park with allocated space for each apartment.

"A house in a house" one young guest told us ... and so it is. Following recent refurbishment it offers 3 bedrooms (1 with en-suite facilities) spread out across the upper level of this 1st floor apartment whilst downstairs guests enjoy a large entrance hall leading to the stairs, family bathroom with shower, bedroom 3 and finally the spacious, fully equipped open-plan lounge,dining-room and kitchen.

Beautifully equipped and maintained to the highest standards for our discerning guests' comfort and relaxation everything is here to make you feel most welcome. Step outside, leaving your car safely parked you can soon join in the many activities - festivals, museums, restaurants, river cruises, shopping offered in York- it's just a 5 minute walk to the Minster! Plus a handy supermarket

immaculate apartment, brilliant position!

We (a family group of 6 adults/older teens) stayed in York for a long weekend, and found the apartment to be impeccably clean, fresh and comfortable. The situation is really a 5 minute stroll to the start of the city wall walk, and in 10 minutes you are in the heart of the city with a plethora of fine dining and drinking establishments to cater to every taste. Pauline made our arrival really effortless, and could not have been more hospitable. We will definitely stay here again if we have occasion to visit York again!

Perfect base for a group stay in central York

Pauline, the owner, went out of her way to allow us to check-in early as we were arriving by train with 2 young children and elderly grandparents. No 28 is lovely. The furnishings are of a very high standard and the apartment overall is immaculate. The location is spot on being only 5 mins walk to the Minster with lots of bars and restaurants enroute. Should we return to York again with the family we will definitely return.

Perfect apartment for mini break to York

We had a wonderful weekend in York. The apartment was perfect for us in every way, we went to York for a weekend with our two young children and one set of grandparents. The layout was perfect, with the grandparents downstairs and using the main bathroom, and us and children up stairs with the en suite. It was like us having our own suite. The apartment was spotless, and done to a very high spec, like a boutique hotel. Certainly one of the best we have stayed in.

The apartment was very well equipped, and allowed us to self cater easily, which is great with young children. Having a large Sainsburys within a few minutes walk was extremely handy, allowing us to just nip out to get what we needed when we needed it.

The location of the apartment is perfect, secure parking where you can leave your car for the duration of your stay and then walk into the centre. It is about 5 mins to the Minster, and about 15 mins walk through the town to the Railway Museum, with lots of places to stop for a coffee, or browse the shops.

I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment, and we will definitely return. Pauline was lovely, and the welcome pack was a real surprise treat! Thanks for a wonderful weekend!

A perfect apartment in York

We found this apartment to be an ideal base for our stay in York. It was convenient for the centre with several eating places, such as Little Italy and a Tapas bar, within easy walking distance. The secure parking was an added bonus.

The accommodation was pleasantly quiet for a city apartment. It was well furnished throughout with a full range of equipment. Everywhere was very clean, the beds were really comfortable with good quality linen and towels being provided.

On arrival, Pauline made us very welcome and later went to great lengths to return a toilet bag which one of our party had inadvertently left behind!

28 County House, York

The apartment at 28 County House was fantastic. The accomodation offered everything we could have needed. It was very clean and clearly well maintained. There is secure parking. Despite being within a large building there was no noise either within the building or from the surrounding area. The owner was very helpful prior to our arrival with information about the accomodation, she met us at the apartment and gave a very good rundown of the flat and the area. Very close to the centre of York with easy access to all the local attractions. There is a Sainsbury supermarket very close by. All in all a very good apartment which we would love to visit again and have already recommended it to our friends.

A great property, superbly located.

Perfect location, less than 200 metres from the city walls and you can be in the main shops / minster in 5 minutes. Supermarket 100 metres. Secure off road parking. Apartment itself is spotlessly clean, very well equipped, quiet and has everything you need for your stay. Beds are very comfy. Highly recommended. Owners are very helpful and easy to deal with.

Whitby, Scarborough, Filey approx. 1 hour drive. Whitby can also also accessed from Pickering via Steam Train.

Nearest Airport is Leeds-Bradford.

Lots of beautiful villages, small towns, e.g. Helmsley, National Trust properties, Yorkshire Moors all nearby but varying distances.

We also charge a Security Bond fee of £250 - this is fully refundable within 5-7 days subject to satisfactory property check after departure.

Wi-fi access and lots of tourist information is placed in the apartment County House is strictly non-smoking throughout and pets are not permitted into our apartments. The property is fully residential and we trust our guests will respect other residents, as they will you, and children should not use the lift without the company of an adult. Outside: Secure, FREE parking for 1 car per apartment at the front of the property. All local shops, restaurants and amenities very close by. The nearest supermarket is 2 minutes away. The train station is a 15 minute walk and taxis can be found close by. An oasis of peace close to the heart of the city of York, historic County House is set back from the main road yet very close to all the city's main attractions.
