In an elevated setting on a hillside farm and surrounded by stunning scenery across Sabden Valley towards Pendle Hill in the beautiful Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Approached along a farm track, The Boskins dates back to the 1700s and has been converted to offer a charming cottage, retaining original feature beams, underfloor heating, a wood burning stove for cooler days and complemented with contemporary furnishings of a very good standard, it is the perfect getaway at any time. The private patio is ideal for enjoying the peace and quiet or al fresco dining. The sheep and lambs in the spring graze the fields with walks directly from the cottage across countryside and woodland. The area offers plenty of opportunity for enjoyment such as walking and cycling, Pendle Ski club dry slopes and the challenge of Pendle Hill is just a few minutes away.

Hot tub break - Boskins Cottage, Cobden Farm (Sabden)
After searching the web for a Hot -Tub breakaway, we found this Cottage advertised inclusive of a wood fired hot-tub which we thought ticked all the boxes. We paid in full in advance to secure our long awaited break. The cottage was well equipped and set in a beautiful location with lovely views over the valley. On the second day of our stay, and following instructions on how to operate the hot tub from the manual on site, we had a visit from the owner's Alan and Sarah. They informed us Not to use the hot-tub as it has not been cleaned and could pose a risk. We were very disappointed as we travelled a vast distance and felt some form of compensation should have been offered as this was being mis-sold but yet charged for in full!! For this reason only, we will not be recommending this property. Craig & Antoinette (South Africa)
Lovely cottage very peaceful and loved the log burning fire. Will definitely come again and hopefully make use of the hot tub
Thank you for your review, we hope you'll stay again when you're next visiting the area x
House stunning, Hot Tub Not usable, No phone or wifi signal, No contact or apology from host.
The House was beautiful. It was very clean and very well equip.
We paid for 4 nights accommodation with a wood burning hot tub (That's what we came for)
We drove from Brighton via Liverpool for a quiet relaxing birthday/working break away.
Correspondence with the host was great leading up to our arrival with in depth direction to the property. (which are needed) What the host failed to inform us was the road leading to the property was a narrow nail biting experience (In a mini anyway) high on top of a hill with only 1 or 2 feet separating us from a continuous steep rolling hill that lead straight into a river along an uneven track (not good for the faint hearted) Also, that there was NO signal or wifi meaning we couldn't even call the children to tell them we had arrived safe. We did find in the information book that said if we needed to call out we could ask to use their personal home telephone (which u would never intruded on or would want to). It would have been nice to know all this beforehand as it really would have put me off booking as we have responsibilities. Then the hot tub, That, I found out after reading the information and spending an hour trying to work out how to get it to work only to find after knocking next door at the hosts house and spoke to her husband that, 'Oh no, it can't be used, apparently I should have been informed by 'someone' but I wasn't, now I booked 4 days here to enjoy this feature of the property only to be let down on day one. The hosts knew about the No signal they knew about the hot tub all well in advance to our arrival yet nobody thought to inform us nor bothered to pop in to explain or apologise yet was quite happy to take our payment. We had to travel out along that track every day just to call home and check my work emails. (hardly relaxing and caused great stress) but as mention we had drove nearly 250 miles for this break and had nowhere else to go otherwise we certainly would have 'had' to leave. Just a little heads up from the host in advance would have been nice because if we'd have known the amount of stress the break was going to cause again we would not have booked. It's a shame because the house is lovely and would be appealing to people who want to hide away from the world for a few days with no outside contact but we would have liked to make that choice for ourselves as this was not what we paid for or wanted. What an expensive shame!
Great cottage in beautiful setting
Lovely converted barn in beautiful rural setting. The owners had the cottage well supplied with everything you would need!
Cosy, warm and lovely stay
We had a lovely stay in the cottage. The hot was amazing. The double bed was wonderful and it is so quiet and dark at night. We slept so good.
We will return.
Thank you for your review, glad you enjoyed your stay and our hot tub! You're welcome back with us any time.
The cottage was in a lovely location with wonderful views. Lots of walks from the doorstep and plenty of places to visit.
Less than a mile from the village of Sabden, and a few minutes drive from Whalley and Clitheroe
