My parents live in the house for over twenty years now and are receiving holiday guests, show them around and help out with questions and tips. I do the booking and administrative tasks so that the holiday planning and preparation for guests gets easy and efficiently done.
Urs purchased this apartment in 1984
In the middle of a small Swiss farmer village with unique views of the Jungfraujoch UNESCO World heritage - Swiss Alps... my father could not resist when it was on sales over twenty years ago.
Bak to nature; a comfi, simple and nice place to spend your ski or hiking holidays in a Swiss Chalet. Enough space for bigger families and small kids to play in and around the house.
Thank you for a wonderful time in your nice and warm place; great views and unforgettable memories.
Silko Family from Poland
We have just come back from Chalet Daheim where we stayed for 10 nights. It was a traditional Swiss house with cow bells and geraniums, split into two where the owners, Hansrudi and Ronny Daeppen also live. We booked on the basis of the description and very positive reviews as well as it fitted our budget. The apartment was very clean, spacious and functional with everything we needed (there is now a microwave and the bathroom and toilet clearly recently refurbished). I liked the passageway to the small balcony which could be used for skis, walking boots etc.
Communication from Urs was efficient. A pdf with labelled 'Google' photos identifying how to get to the house was delivered with the original confirmation and extremely useful. The road up to the village is a little hairy the first time but staying in a village several hundreds of metres up a mountain with an amazing panaramic view of the Jungfrau, Eiger, Monach and Schilthorn from the Chalet's sitting room and main bedroom windows is very special.
Thank you to Hans for helping my husband park our car (it was a tight turn as we had an estate car) and for giving us the 25% discount card and magazine for the Isenfluh-Sulwald cable car as it wasn't covered with the Swiss Pass we had bought. Their lovely next door neighbour speaks English as does the lady who sells the cheese and meat in the village. The Waldrand restaurant was a few metres walk and the Rosti was good!
It was an excellent base for visits to Sulwald, Lauterbrunnen, Interlaken, Grindlewald, Murren, Wengen and Jungfrau. We hiked locally or used the Post bus to connect to the train station (I think we used the car twice).
Thank you to the Daeppen family for making us feel welcome.
We had an amazing time staying at Chalet Daheim. The only negative is that we did not want to leave and now we are home miss the Chalet, Isenfluh, the mountains, and the wonderful air very much.
Chalet Daheim was spotless and extremely comfortable with such fantastic views from the windows. We had everything that we needed. We really enjoyed our time with Hans and Romy and thank them for their help and support. Our only regret is that our German/Swiss was not up to having conversations with them. We also thank their neighbour who spoke perfect English and could translate for us. We are so glad that we selected Chalet Daheim for our first visit to Switzerland and we thoroughly recommend it. I would return there tomorrow if I could especially as the local restaurant is excellent and is only a couple of minutes walk away.
Took my family skiing arrived at 1930 hrs Saturday evening, Owner was there to greet us personally and made us feel welcome straight away. We were shown round the chalet and everything was explained to us and shown all appliances and how it all worked. Chalet is lovely and clean. Excellent views would thoroughly recommend this chalet to anybody.
Our Holiday was well enjoyed.
The owners are very kind and helpful, the house is clean and nice! The most beautiful ski slopes are near there! SWITZERLAND is amazing we would go again and definitely recommended!
We had a wonderful, happy week in Chalet Daheim in Isenfluh. Our grand children's first visit to Switzerland was perfect.
Hansruedi welcomed us on our arrival, they were always there to help. They washed for us and put it all on the line!! and gave us a lovely supper.
The Chalet was very clean, cozy and well equipped, every thing we needed was there. We used the Post bus and left our car all week at the chalet. Isenfluh is a beautiful , peaceful little village.
One week was not long enough, but wonderful to be back home in Switzerland.
We had a fantastic 10-day vacation at Chalet Daheim. Before arriving at the place, we received an informative package about Isenfluh and the areas nearby, which was really helpful in planning walks and activities during our visit. The chalet is very clean and well-furnished. The owners were quite helpful even though they don't speak English and we don't speak German. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk that we did to Sulwald and the areas around there. The walk from Isenfluh to (almost to) Murren is recommended as well (there was a bit too much snow for us--we didn't have hiking shoes on). There are plenty of outdoor activities to keep a family busy for 10 days. If you intend to spend your vacation at a quiet mountain village with beautiful scenery, we would definitely recommend staying at Chalet Daheim.
Amongst experts Isenfluh (1024 m) is regarded as an complete insider tip. The small, remote mountain village lies high above the Lauterbrunnen valley with views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau triad. Isenfluh is a base for hiking, skiing, sledge-rides and many more winter activities - it is in the middle of the winter paradise Jungfrau-Region.
Both walking and climbing tours to the spectacular Lobhörner will exhilarate the visitor, discover mountain lakes, or go and see where farmers bring their cow's in summer and where teh real Swiss cheese is made.
The fantastic winter landscape literally invites you to come for a snowshoeing or ski-touring trip. An almost historic cable car takes visitors high up to Sulwald from where there is a stunning panorama To the Jungfrau mountain. On popular “Monster Trottis” in summer, and the sledge run in winter, the decent back to Isenfluh is fast and exciting – pure action for young and old!
Other Activities: skydive, base jump, canyoning, heliski, parachute, night sledge, ...
Golf: The world-famous Alpine panorama provides a breathtaking backdrop for the Interlaken-Unterseen Golf Club course, nestling between Lakes Thun and Brienz. The location, the mostly level terrain and mild climate offer an invitation to great golf in the Bernese Oberland.
The golf course borders on a nature reserve and thus captivates not only nature lovers but also keen golfers who appreciate the harmonious balance between a sporting challenge and superb natural surroundings.
18 holes, medal 5758 m – Par 72 – altitude 556 m
Eligibility to play: In addition to members of the Interlaken-Unterseen Golf Club, guests with a proven handicap are eligible to use the golf course.
Ski: Winter season - Skiing:
44 lifts and cable cars invite you to come and have fun in the snow. The three regions of Grindelwald-First, Kleine Scheidegg-Männlichen and Mürren-Schilthorn open up far over 200 km of slopes, including six to twelve kilometre-long runs down to the valley of various degrees of difficulty. A total of over 40% of the slopes are equipped with snow-making machines.
The Jungfrau Region is a paradise for not only skiers, but also excites the heart of snowboarders. The latter can have fun on the countless slopes but, above all, in the snowboard parks on Grindelwald-First and Mürren-Schilthorn.
The Alpine topography of the Jungfrau Region offers little space for Nordic cross-country skiing. The views of the mountains, though, are all the more spectacular.
Many more activities available such as ice climbing, ski touring, heliski, telemark.
