About MR PAUL KINNEAR
I live and work in London We have owned Bacons since 1991 and it has been a wonderful family home for the holidays. The children are now grown-up but we still like to come to Bacons for peace and quiet when we can! We love walking, and the beauty of Bacon's position in the Forest, is that you can park the car outside and there is no need to drive again until it is time to leave.
MR PAUL KINNEAR purchased this House in 1991
Why MR PAUL KINNEAR chose Hyde
Wonderfully quiet away from roads and on a country track. Open aspect with views over the Forest with Forest animals right up to the gate!

Family break in New Forest
The property is a fully equipped, comfortable cottage with a delightfully spacious garden so plenty of room for children to play. The property has direct access to Hyde Common and is a perfect base for exploring the New Forest. Highly recommended.
Bacons in May
The Hovel is a delightful new addition and the setting of Bacons is particularly special, approached by a gravel track that can be rather bumpy in places. The house offers spacious accommodation and is comfortable, although some of the furnishings are now a little tired and could do with being updated. The AGA cooker can be a little challenging for those not accustomed to these traditional stoves. Having been blessed with superb weather during our stay, the quality of the garden furniture was a little disappointing. However, we have always enjoyed our stay at Bacons.
Lovely as always.
Great location, very relaxing.
A large beautiful comfortable house set in a very large secluded garden ... ideal !
Bacons is an ideal large family holiday home ! It’s set in a secluded but easy to reach part of the New Forest where ponies and donkeys roam around outside the garden gate. The very large garden was perfect for our dog to roam around and explore in, knowing that he couldn’t escape. We were six adults that stayed for a long weekend, and we all loved the warm relaxed vibe of the house. We loved using the Aga in the kitchen ! The bedrooms were very clean with ample storage space with comfortable beds. The showers were very good as well. There’s not one thing we would change. We would highly recommend Bacons, and in fact are talking about returning next week year as we absolutely loved it !
Lovely, comfortable, homely cottage in amazing location
Had a wonderful week at Bacon's. The cottage was peaceful, comfortable, cozy and well equipped and the location was wonderful. Loads of walks from the door. Hope to be back one day.
Thank you, we are delighted to know that you enjoyed your stay at Bacons, it is indeed one of the special aspects of the house that one can walk directly into the Forest and find different walks without the need to drive a car.
Comfortable and well equipped house in stunning location
We spent a very happy weekend at Bacons, a reunion of seven old friends. The house is in a beautiful location with wonderful views and a pub within walking distance (very important!). The property provided ample accommodation for three couples and a single, and the communal areas were perfect for dining and relaxing - large table, comfy sofas, log fire. The house was very clean and the kitchen well equipped for cooking and serving. The bathroom and shower room were great and the bedding was clean and crisp. Some of the furnishings were perhaps a little tired but this did not detract from the charm and comfort of the place. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would definitely re-book for a return stay in the future.
