Dalendrien is a single storey house, sleeping 6, stunningly positioned on its own peninsula on the shoreline of Loch Linnhe. a long sea inlet running from the Isle of Mull inland to the slopes of Ben Nevis, and sits on the quiet north shore of the loch just off the scenic road which runs from Fort William to the remote Ardnamurchan Peninsula. It nestles in three acres of grounds with shoreline and slipway, some 25 miles from Fort William and 8 miles north of the Corran Ferry at Ardgour. About Nicki Makris
About the owner: I live in the south of England and love visiting my family's "Scottish family home" especially as I now have grandchildren who enjoy the freedom, openness of it and mucking about in the water, as my children did when they were little!
Nicki Makris purchased this Bungalow in 1970
Why Nicki Makris chose Fort William
My parents bought the house to escape the pressures of work, have family visiting, enjoy the peace of its remoteness, the scenery and to use a boat on the loch. My grandmother was Scottish so my father felt he was returning to his roots.
What makes this Bungalow unique
A warm, cosy family house that offers a vast array of activities and wildlife on the doorstep come rain or shine and snow!

in an idylic position
one of the best places we have stayed in saw deer in garden on the first night they were a bit elusive after that the weather was not good it rained every day but did not put a damper on our stay we spent a lot of time in the sun room the property is very well furnished with lovely bathrooms will be visiting dalendrian again
I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay in Dalendrien, and saw some deer around the house. Sadly rain in not uncommon in Scotland!!! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Dalendrien is beautifully quiet and serene. We all enjoyed sitting every morning and evening looking at the views and waiting for the Deer to arrive!
The property is extremely well equipped, we've only found one other that is as well equipped and that is in Crete!
We were extremely lucky with the weather and had some warm sunny days - all in all - perfect
I am so happy that you had such a good time in Dalendrien. When I am in the house one of my favourite spots is sitting in the sitting room, or sun room, just looking at the views - the deer can be a bonus at these times!
Beautiful private loch house with stunning views
We stayed in Dalendrien with 4 adults and 2 small children (4 and 2 years old). The house itself is very well maintained, tidy, comfortable and very well equiped. The children loved to play on the rocky beach and with al the toys available on rainy days. The views from the living room, kitchen and bedooms are stunning and there is abundant wild life around the house. The rocky beach naar the house is perfect for a beach bbq or fire. Even chairs for comfy sitting on the beach are available.
The pub (ardgour inn) at the Coran ferry a few Miles up the road, serves excellent food.
We had a wonderful time and would love to come back.
I am so very happy that you had such a good week and that the children's toys were used. I wish I could have ordered lots of sunshine from the weather man! It would be lovely to have you all back again.
Fix an idea in the mind of where to relax, find peace and tranquility, then Dalendrien is that fix.
Instant karma is the feeling you get when you first walk through the door of this amazing home. Yes, it is a home, comfortable, relaxing, peaceful and all of the conveniences anyone could ever need. My family and I could quite easily have spent the two weeks of our holiday there without setting foot out of the home and the land belonging to the property. There are however many great adventures in the nearby areas to take advantage of. Magnificent scenery, historical castles and monuments, wildlife in abundance, walks galore for both the unfit and those with bags of fitness energy. Did we manage to do all that we wanted to, no. So it looks like we shall have to return at some, hopefully sooner, later date.
Beautiful location with a great deal of thought behind giving a high quality to the stay
Despite it being a fair hike around the Loch to the house after Fort William it is fair to say that it is worth the extra 35 mins The silence hits you straight away and it is a great place to relax away the stresses of life. Stunning views down the Loch and across to Ben Nevis combined with the private beach make for a great location.
The house is very well stocked with a great kitchen and plenty of comfy chairs etc. As it is Scotland deploy the midge spray before you get out of the car as they can be a handful at times, however you almost get used to them after a while.
Plenty of things to do but consider Wild West tours and Seaxplorer rib rides out of Glencoe. Also Rockhopper do a fabulous couple of hours on the water in kayaks
Wow you certainly packed in some of the great activities the area has. As you say midge spray always needs to be packed, at this time of year, it can be total pot luck as to whether they are around or not. I hope the bedroom plug-ins worked. I will have to look into putting midge spray bottles in each bedroom! Thank you for being such lovely guests.
Fabulous cottage, well situated for relaxing holiday, well equipped
A great location, remote, peaceful and stunning surroundings. Cottage is well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Car is essential because of location and a must to explore the wonderful surrounding areas. We will definitely be visiting again
I am so happy you had a lovely time staying in Dalendrien and it would be lovely to have you to stay again - a chance to explore more of the area! I have my favourite places, but I'm still discovering new ones.
