About Jill Elliott

I live in Caerphilly with my husband Simon, daughter Elisha and our dog Belle.Simon has been coming to Dale on family holidays since he was born and introduced me to Dale. We love the sea, scenery, wildlife, walking and cycling, for my daughter it's the water sports and we all enjoy the wonderful village life fine dining in the Griffin pub the Yacht Club & Boat house cafe and still holiday here regularly. We hope that you enjoy our home and Dale as much as we do.

Jill Elliott purchased this house in 2013

Why Jill Elliott chose Pembrokeshire

We have always wanted to retire to Dale but when Sanderling came up for sale we couldn't let the chance pass on buying this beautiful house so close to the sea and on the Pembrokeshire coastal path, we still plan to retire to Sanderling House.

What makes this house unique

Sanderling is a spacious house with a lot of car-parking so people with boats can even park up which is a real bonus in Dale. Pets are welcome, are wild birds in the back garden are better than any television program, we can watch them for hours. Even though Dale is a small village we are lucky to have a pub that serves excellent food renowned for its fresh fish, cafe with a shop (a real Aladdin's cave) yacht club that has a welcoming bar( non members welcome) Artists and sculptors, picture gallery, handmade jewellery shop, Maritime Heritage museum, church, water sports hire shop,a pontoon where boats are coming and going and children crabbing off the end.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Sanderlings House in Dale Pembrokeshire is the most wonderful holiday home we have ever stayed at. As well as great accommodation, well equipped kitchen, and a lovely garden for children to explore the attention to detail given by the owners to providing everything you could possibly need for a wonderful holiday is second to none in our experience. We spent a week over Easter in the lovely village of Dale in Pembrokeshire and were extremely lucky to have really good weather which enabled us to be out and about every day. However staying in was also an good option in the lovely, well eqipped and spacious Sanderlings House. Our grandsons loved exploring all the nooks and crannies of the many tierd garden and all the little tables and chairs dotted around were great fun, whether eating breakfast or enjoying a glass of wine in the evening. The fire pit was a great hit too with kids and adults alike! I would whole-hearedly recommend sanderlings and Dale as exceptional places top spend your holiday. we will certainly be returning.

Kayaking heaven

  • 5 of 5

We have had a wonderful stay at Sanderling House .The house is excellently equipped and was very clean and well maintained. We loved watching the birds on the feeders from the kitchen every day-even spotting a woodpecker a couple of times. We have been to Pembrokeshire for several years now and always bring our kayaks. This was by far the best location we have found to kayak from. The beach and jetty are just a few minutes walk from the house and because the bay is so sheltered we were able to kayak even on the windy days. The cafe by the bay was great for our cooked breakfast on the day we left. They also do yummy icecream and cakes but their closing time can vary depending on how busy it is so worth checking-I missed my icecream one day! Marloes sands nearby is the most beautiful and dog friendly beach and well worth a visit. The owner was very friendly and helpful, even calling us the night before to let us know we could get in earlier as the previous guests had left a day before. A brilliant place to stay-I,m sure we'll be back again.

A wonderful place to stay, in a stunning location

  • 5 of 5

A perfect base for exploring the area, and an equally great place to kick back and relax. Everything has been thought of, with all the maps, books, games and entertainment you could ever want provided.

The house is extremely comfortable and clean, and the village of Dale is the perfect place to unwind and relax.

Excellent location for coastal path walks

  • 5 of 5

Excellent location and property for undertaking the coastal path walks we wanted to do. Communication with Jill (owner) was very good and everything was perfect apart from the weather! Access and egress via the utility room was a bonus for us after our very wet and muddy walks.

The house was very clean and fully equipped. Visiting out of season meant that local amenities were closed but Jill had forewarned us about that so it wasn’t a problem. We’d shopped before arriving at the house so we’d taken everything we needed.

Good selection of toys, books, dvds and games for the evenings if required.

Overall the house was more than expected and was a wonderful base for our walks through South Pembrokeshire. We had pretty awful weather for most of our week but still thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Sanderling House anD would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Great family house

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at Sanderling. The house is really well equipped, especially for families. Our toddler was delighted to find a box of toys to play with and books to read.

The house is spacious with a beautiful garden and it's in a great location close to two beaches. We spent a very happy week wandering to the beach, the local cafe and pub and not doing much else!

Great house, lovely location

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely week at Sanderling House. Everything you could need (and a lot more) is provided in the lovely house, which was spotlessly clean. The house was plenty big enough for our family of 8.

Sanderling House is in a great, quiet location with lovely views (including the sea) from upstairs, and we enjoyed sitting in the kitchen watching the birds in the garden (huge different variety).

The small beach is only a couple of minutes walk away, and the food at The Griffin was great.

Dale is a lovely little village, and although it has very few amenities, is only a few minutes drive from many locations.

We cant wait to visit again.
