About Helene Wood
The house has been in the family for over 15 years. My husband and I took it over as a holiday home in 2013. We love Cornwall and especially Falmouth with its wonderful estuary.
Helene Wood purchased this Bungalow in 2013
Why Helene Wood chose Falmouth

Great base for a family holiday
Great location, close to fantastic beaches and Falmouth town centre. The bungalow was perfect for our needs. The recycling instructions, what to recycle when could be explained a lot better. We used the Cornwall Council website to find out but there is no black box for recycling bottles and tins - minor point but in this eco-friendly day and age very relevant. We were able to visit Lands End, Lizard Point, the Lost Gardens, Mevagissey, The Eden Project, National Maritime Museum, Penndenis Castle and the Point. My elderly mother loved it.
Thanks for this great review.. We understand your question about recycling and we are thinking how we could improve it for next season. As a start we could provide boxes for plastic and glass bottles.
A great find and very convenient.
This property was just what a family with children could do with. It is not posh, but is adequately equipped, clean with good sized rooms. Beds were comfy.
There is plenty of storage, of both drawers and hanging space, kitchen is again adequately stocked. Handy/needed - 2 toilets, plenty of hot water. There is a patio and garden area. Could do with a washing line and pegs.
It is a short walk down hill to the beach/town which is great, very convenient. Well worth considering, would stay again.

Review of Stay
The bungalow was found easily from the instructions and is positioned well for the town and beaches. It was good from the location to reach places of interest like Glendurgan and Trebah gardens, as well as those further afield like the Eden project and towns such as Penzance and Lands End
The house was comfortable and well provided, internally with appropriate accommodation and has a pleasant sun-trap patio and gardens outside.
Comfortable house, perfectly located, great for a family
We had a great time staying here. The house suited everyone from 7 to 70 years old. The beds are really comfortable and the house is very roomy and warm. Parking is easy and it's a quiet location with a lovely little garden. The old cemetery opposite is beautiful for a stroll after dinner, covered in wild flowers. Helene leaves a stack of DVDs to suit all tastes - great for calming the children before bed. We were able to leave sandy toys and shoes outside or in the garage which made life much easier. The location is perfectly placed between the two main beaches of Falmouth, a short drive or a reasonable walk. Perfect for a morning jog. Our children of 7 and 10 didn't want to leave.
My husband left his iPad behind and Helene was incredibly helpful in finding it and returning it safely to us. She really makes your stay very welcoming.
We were slightly disappointed at having to do some cleaning in the kitchen on arrival but this was a small thing during an otherwise lovely holiday. We will definitely be back to Falmouth!
We are pleased you had a good time. We aim for a friendly service and we are sorry for the slight issue on arrival.
Splendid location for a seaside holiday.
This was a first family holiday in three years so we were all looking forward to it and we were not disappointed. The weather was absolutely fantastic with temperatures in the mid 20s. This bungalow ticked all the boxes as far as it was in an excellent location very close to two beaches, within easy walking distance and both beaches had food outlets which were very reasonable and had delicious ice cream. The bungalow was very spacious with reasonable décor. The welcome tea, coffee and biscuits were a pleasant surprise. Everything was clean and tidy. It was about a 10-15 minute walk into town and 10 minutes to the train station. The trains are every 30 minutes to Truro. Being so close to all amenities it was lovely to be able to walk rather than use the car all the time. We as a family had a fantastic time. There were a few minor criticisms but that was due to personal choice. Overall our family would love to use this accommodation again when we next visit Falmouth.
Thanks for your nice review. We are pleased you had a great time.
