About Phil and Lindsay Timms
We have spent many wonderful holidays in Puglia. We discovered the North of the Province first and loved it so much we decided to travel further South. In 2008 we visited Cisternino and became addicted from then onwards! We have fallen head over heels in love with this area and especially its wonderful people. So much so we were married in the local Church in 2011! Many of our friends who came to the wedding have also fallen in love with this unique place, and have since holidayed here many times! Puglia is a place of beauty, a hidden gem. The coastlines are unspoilt and the seas are clean and clear. We think the local food and wine are literally amazing - never to be forgotten!
Phil and Lindsay Timms purchased this Villa in 2010
Why Phil and Lindsay Timms chose Ostuni
Since our first visit we have been captivated with the area, especially the fairytale style castles called Trullos. We looked at many places over a number of years until a local Italian friend helped us find our wonderful architect and amazing builder. As soon as we saw the land and the wonderful view of the valley with the whitewashed town of Cisternino twinkling in the distance we knew this was the one. The project has been long and we have poured our heart and soul into Trullo Sereno. The exterior has been lovingly recreated to continue the traditions of trullo making and the lost art of stone masonry. Every stone has been hand chipped to fit perfectly in place. The interior offers everything a family or a group of friends could wish for on holiday. We hope you enjoy your stay.

Beautiful place. Ample space with 3 large double bedrooms. Very clean
Was a great trip. Angelita (the villa manager) is a lovely lady and incredibly approachable with very good English. She made us feel at home and helped arrange all activities.
Bedrooms - 3 doubles and large with fans provided.
Bathrooms - 1 large and 1 ensuite. Very clean.
Living space - very clean and beautifully decorated. Stylish!
Outdoor patio - great BBQ. Buy coal from nearby supermarket. Outside sitting area beautiful with candles for dinner.
Pool was lovely. Pool cleaner came twice during our 1 week stay.
The driveway to the house is a bit uphil so ensure have appropriate car to get up. We had Fiat 500L and it was fine (after 1 failed attempt!)
Overall a beautiful place. Nicer than the photos suggested. Very clean. Great hosts. Would come back
Everything about our stay was delightful. The pictures do not do this property justice. The entire property is so beautiful and well thought out. We were seven people, two families and one traveling alone. We all had our space and privacy. There was ample outside living space, a beautiful table and arbor outside the dining room, places to read by the pool or the front terrace.
Angelita the property manager met us when we came in and we followed her to the home. She made recommendations during our stay and made reservations when necessary for us. Try to visit the winery and olive oil company she suggested, it was a great time.
While on the property you have a feeling of total peace and privacy. The property sits on a hill and on the hottest of days no air conditioning was needed due to a breeze.
The local markets were well equipped and their seafood selection was amazing! One night we decided to stay in and I made orrechetti followed by fresh sardines.
I can not recommend this property more highly! While you’re here try the restaurant Cielo in Ostuni one evening.
Puglia has so much to see and do, amazing beaches, beautiful churches and historic town centers, friendly people, great wine and food. Yet if you want the serenity of just reading a book laying by the pool you have that too! It was hard to leave. I had been traveling and staying in beautiful hotels throughout Europe’s for weeks before coming to this home. When I arrived, I felt truly at home and it was the best part of my trip.
Peaceful get away with everything you need
I cannot rave enough about our stay! It is a beautiful house, furnished with everything you could ever need to enjoy your holiday with children. There were many days we didn’t leave the house as we just enjoyed the pool, the play area and walking through the olive grove so much.
The house is well equipped for children of all ages. Our baby and four year old found all sorts of toys, indoors and outdoors, to keep them busy during the holiday. It is well stocked with baby supplies, including a hand blender for pureeing food for a baby, high chairs, baby monitors, etc.
We loved the outdoor pizza oven and the fact that all the wood and kindling is all ready to go. The kitchen does not lack any equipment to cook excellent meals and there are good grocery stores a short drive away.
Cisternino, the closest town, is incredibly cute and has great places to eat.
We loved our stay, none of us wanted to leave and we can’t wait to go back!
peaceful and relaxing
Stayed 8 nights early May and although the weather was predicted to be bad, it turned out to be lovely. The accommodation was beautiful and provided everything we needed especially for our 2 year toddler. The owners Lindsay and Phil Timms were perfect hosts and was amazing from beginning to end, providing every bit of information that we needed for a perfect stay AND their property manager Angelita was very responsive and helpful as well. Lindsay recommended Antonio Calella, the most AMAZING chef! Enough cannot be said about Antonio, who our entire family fell in love with and wanted to take home, not only for his amazing food but for being an amazing human being. When Antonio noticed that our car was damaged, he took us to have it fixed at a very reasonable cost (be aware...AMEX insurance does not cover Italy!) and loaned us one of his cars in the interim and refused to let us pay him for it! Simply a wonderful person!
While there is lots to see in the area and a car is definitely needed, we spent ample enough time at the house, eating and enjoying the area. We stopped in at the local store each morning for 'just out of the oven' baked breads and fresh fruit and walked the property for exercise.
We could not recommend the place and people enough!
Truly fabulous trullo
We had a wonderful holiday in Phil and Lindsay's beautiful home. From the moment we arrived and saw the stunning location with the olive trees and white conical roof we knew that this was going to be a great holiday. Angelita was really helpful for advice, restaurant bookings and of course olive mill visiting - we came back with litres of oil!
The property is well laid out with big bedrooms and two bathrooms. There are eating areas indoors (for when it is too hot) and a shaded one outside.
We all loved the salt water pool which is really well maintained along with the garden and enjoyed using and adding to the inflatables! There are plenty of excellent restaurants nearby both in Ostuni, Cisternino and Martina Franca but the kitchen is well equipped should you wish to cook or try your hand to pizzas in the pizza oven.
All in all this was one of the best villas we've ever rented. Thank you very much to Phil, Lindsay and Angelita for ensuring we had a truly memorable holiday.
Perfection in Puglia
The week we spent at Trullo Sereno was quite simply perfect!
From the minute the gate starts to slide back and let you up the drive and you see the roof of the Trullo appear you know that you are in for a magical holiday. The beautiful setting of Almond and Olive tress combined with the impressive outdoor feasting table and the pool side cabana make you relax the moment your foot steps out of the car.
The interior is cool, quirky and chic all mixed up to deliver something that feels like a home away from home. So much thought and attention to detail has gone into making the Trullo feel welcoming, comfortable, practical, friendly and comfy. There is nothing missing from all the kitchen supplies and equipment, DVDs, games, music, towels and kids paraphernalia.
There is enough space in and around the Trullo that if there is a large group of you there is always a quiet space if needed - from the hammock in the trees, the play area for the kids, the amazing pool side rocking chairs or just sleeping on a lounger.
The outdoor pizza oven and BBQ means you can have a different dining experience every night. We had a fabulous chef come to us and teach us how to make traditional pizzas including the dough and sauce - it was an amazing evening!
This and other activities was organised by Lindsey who could not do enough to make our trip the best it possibly could be. From restaurant recommendations, to day trip tips, from organising cycling tours to having a birthday cake delivered nothing is too much trouble. The care and commitment that Lindsey went to to ensure that we had everything we needed and wanted to do was so impressive - I don't think I have ever received a service like it before.
You definitely need a car to make the most of the area and there is so much to see and do - we had the perfect balance of activities and pool side chills! And as I say, Lindsey helped me put an amazing schedule together!
If you want a holiday of beautiful scenery, luxury living and fantastic food then the Trullo and Puglia is the place to go
