An immaculate and very gracious period property which retains original historic features and is A grade listed. The super king size bedroom is an oasis of calm with silk drapes and French oak furnishings and the living room exudes eclectic style with comfortable sofas and antique walnut furniture. My name is Alexandra and I live in Edinburgh. My partner is an engineer and I work part time for a property management company. My passion is dancing and my husband's passion is cycling. We have spent many holidays snowboarding or cycling but in the last few years we have slowed down on the sporting pursuits and like to explore new places on foot!

If you love historic property and want to experience Georgian character and luxury, you will not be disappointed.

The area is a UNESCO world heritage site and considered to be a masterpiece of city planning.

We have brought an 1840's property to life and the location belies the calm and peaceful feeling you get when you stay here.

The area Broughton has retained it's sense of community within the city, as we also benefit from the local shops and specialty outlets surrounding the property.

What makes this apartment unique

You would be never think our apartment was in the city so we love the fact that it is so quiet but literally 90 seconds (I've timed it) from Broughton Street where we can shop for basics or specialty items. There are so many restaurants, cafes and bars you are spoilt for choice. I love that we can walk to the main shops in and around Princes and George Street and our new tram system is up and running - 180 m and a 5 min walk from the apartment!

Great flat and landlady, and very comfortable!

We had a great stay in Edinburgh, and this flat was perfect for us. It was so clean and pretty, with easy access to everything. We had a small electrical issue, and Alexandra was there quickly and fixed the problem right away. We were in the flat for two weeks, and it truly felt like our home while we were there. I'd definitely recommend this rental to anyone staying in Edinburgh.

Lovely convenient and well equipped flat

Alexandra's flat is beautiful and has everything one or two people need for a great stay in Edinburgh. The apartment is wonderfully located in the New Town, and it is an easy walk to all the tourist areas. Leith Walk is a favorite and we always stop for a coffee or a meal along the way in Stockbridge. The only downside of the flat was the lack of good lighting in the bathroom. A light over the mirror would be a great addition.

Alexandra was friendly and helped us to get orientated to the flat and the area. We needed to leave our luggage after checking out, and the bus station is only a couple of blocks away and has convenient lockers.

Fantastic apartment

This is one of the best apartments i have ever stayed in. Immaculately clean with magnificent interior. The owner was so helpful and pleasant, thank you so much. Only advise i would give to anyone renting this very central apartment is to park in st James car park , only 15 pounds for 24 hrs, much better than the hassle of the parking metres in Edinburgh, and within walking distance of the apartment. If i return to Edinburgh i would definitely book this apartment again. Its 5 stars without a doubt.

Great apartment, great location, great owner

This apartment is exactly as described. The photos don't really do it justice - its even nicer when you get there. Everywhere is sparkling clean and all the linens/towels etc good quality. Alexandra, the owner, has thought of everything - there were teas/coffees/snacks in the kitchen and soaps/shampoo etc in the bathroom. Alexandra is friendly and helpful (even posted something back to me I forgot!) without being intrusive.

The location is great and the area quiet but everywhere in the city is within walking distance - though if you don't like walking the tram is not far from the apartment. We really appreciated the umbrella's on Friday when the rain poured. Nearby there are plenty of options for eating/drinking too. I would definitely book this place again if going to Edinburgh and I'm happy to recommend it.

Very comfortable apartment in great location

We had a great 4 night stay at this apartment. It is close to restaurants, bars, a grocery store and the airport tram. It also has good bus service. We used the tram and the buses for longer excursions, but walked to all of the central Edinburgh attractions. The apartment itself is very quiet and there is little traffic on the street out front. The rooms are spacious. The kitchen and bathroom are modern and well equipped. The bed is very nice - high quality linens and a comfortable mattress. We liked that there were blackout curtains, too, although they were hardly necessary with the shutters.

Alexandra was a pleasure to deal with. It was easy to arrange to meet for check-in and she texted us to see if everything was going well. We would love to come back to Edinburgh and would very much like to stay at this apartment again.

Practically Perfect in Every Way!

We so enjoyed our time at Alexandra's flat that we may only come back to Edinburgh (our favorite city) when we can stay here again! The location is perfect - loads of restaurants, cafes, pubs, Tesco Metro, shops nearby. The flat is sumptuously furnished and decorated, and the bed is beyond comfortable! The flat also has a great, very spa-like bathroom and a nicely equipped kitchen. Alexandra is kind and most helpful. Truly, this flat is a gem and we can't wait to come back!

The apartment is strictly non-smoking. We try to co-ordinate our guests arrivals and departures to meet their needs. Walk to everywhere so no need for a car. Parking is free anywhere in Broughton Place - even permit spaces?! - from Friday 5.30 pm to Monday 8.00 am and weekdays from 6pm through to 8 am. If you want to leave your car in a free parking zone it would be best to search Broughton area free parking as it changes quite regularly.
