Sleeps 12. Large barn conversion, on the edge of the village overlooking open countryside and Horton Tower, fitted to a high standard in a contemporary style. The house has 6 large bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. This spacious house with its large well equipped kitchen is ideal for family get together or two families who want to holiday together. The small village of Horton is perfectly placed with easy access to the New Forest and the spectacular beaches of the Dorset coast. It is also within easy driving distance of the Jurassic Coast and the Isle of Purbeck. There are three living areas. Firstly, a very large kitchen and dining area, with a table that comfortably sits 12. The living room has two seating areas, one of which is in front of the barn door window and looks out across the surrounding countryside. There is then a den. Outside there is a gated garden with a large paved area -great for eating outside in the summer.

Super property for a group of 12
This is a top class property in a pleasant location.Excellent, roomy accommodation, pleasant play friendly, secure garden and you can always find a quiet spot if need time to yourself. The broadband was slow, very slow at busy times, but I have since spoken to the owner who was well aware of the problem and is pursuing solutions. It is in the country but shops, supermarkets, pubs etc are 10/15 minutes away in Verwood, Ferndown and Ringwood.Other attractions are around 20/25 minutes away,Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch, New Forest, etc.
The owner was helpful throughout, provided an excellent service, and I can certainly recommend this property.
Thank you for the feedback on the broadband. It has take BT a while, but the house now has BT Infinity broadband. It's not as fast as you will get in the centre of town, but it's much faster than it was.
Great property for family get together
This is a lovely house, beautifully fitted, with loads of space and in a great location, peaceful and spectacular views across the surrounding fields and close to many places of interest. We visited the New Forest, Wimborne Minster and Salisbury, and that was all in one day. The enclosed garden makes it perfectly safe for the very young. My only two criticisms are that it was hard to get enough air into the house (we realize the weather just before we arrived had been very warm, but there are stop mechanisms on many of the windows which prevents them opening fully), and the garden furniture could have been in more usable condition! Otherwise I would have no hesitation in recommending it for a very happy family stay.
Great family location
This is a lovely property ideal for large family groups. It is furnished to a very high standard and having the enclosed garden allows for everyone to enjoy the outdoor experience, the badminton became very competitive. Good location with easy access to a lovely part of the country. Would highly recommend.
If you do choose this barn to stay in be prepared to walk around on egg shells and not move one item (it's really not suitable for families with children under the age of 10).
I agree with the comments from the family who gave two stars that the cleaning costs are ridiculous, this owner is being taken for a ride by the cleaners (although she thinks she isn't).
I would suggest that if you are going to rent this barn to take pictures of every room before and after so you have proof of where everything needs to be put back and the state it's left in.
We have NEVER had any issues with any other house and wish we had never rented the barn. We again received half the deposit back. I have never given bad feedback before and although we read the review of the disgruntled family we decided to take a chance.
We value guest feedback. However, when reading this review, it may assist prospective guests to know the detail of the deduction from the deposit (which was approximately £100), to enable them to put it in context.
The guests had allowed their children to use felt tip colouring pens on the beds. The marks came out of most of the bed linen, but we had to replace one duvet cover, which remained marked after professional cleaning. Wine stains and further pen marks were removed the sofas and side tables. A wine stained throw had to be cleaned and the kitchen had to be given a deep clean.
We appreciate that children move items around the house, and this is generally not an issue, but if a large number of items from upstairs are moved downstairs and visa versa, it takes additional time for the cleaners to sort that out, so the next guests find the house in the same condition as the departing guests found it.
As you will see from the other reviews over the past four years, we have had many delighted visitors, and several groups who return on a regular basis.
Fantastic holiday accommodation
This barn is in a great location, being close to the New Forest, and not too far from the Jurassic coast as well as other popular destinations. It is spacious, well equipped, spotless, well-maintained and beautifully furnished, and is a wonderful space in which to relax. I would recommend this property to friends and family and hope to return in the near future.
Fantastic and spacious house
This is a fantastic house. It's well-equipped, comfortable, attractively furnished, spacious and spotlessly clean. The bathrooms are all modern and well maintained with great showers and the kitchen/dining room is enormous and a wonderful entertaining space.
We had a wonderful Christmas here and I hope to book again in the future.
