First floor apartment in Scarborough, Yorksire, England
About john stevenson
I am a Scarborian by birth but left the town to seek work upon leaving school.Scarborough is such a wonderful place that 13 years ago we decided to buy a holiday property to provide a bolt hole but in particular a holiday home for my children and grandchildren. These have now grown out of seaside holidays and so the property is being used less. The obvious solution was to convert the flat into a holiday let.

This apartment was just perfect. Ideal location, very clean, extra thought put into children staying with the games/beach bits/small little extra provided such as bin bags/soap/coffee/biscuits/milk/ cleaning bits. Am so use to staying places as they leave you a tiny bottle of washing up liquid or 2 bin bags or no foil so you need to buy all of these things on top of your holiday food but not here and I feel that was such a lovely touch too.
The apartment itself was very clean and a good size for us too. It’s only a 5 min walk to the beach/theatre/peasholm park which was perfect too.
We visit friends and family in Scarborough so will definitely look at staying here again and will be recommending to friends and family
Thank you for a great stay!!
Great Location, Great Accommodation
I highly recommend this property. We have just returned from a week in Scarborough and selected this flat due to its excellent location (near North Bay and Peasholm Park) and price.
My wife used to go to Scarborough as a child so she wanted to go back to see how it had changed and give our two boys a seaside holiday.
Must-do things are sandy beaches (with shallow water - but the number of surfers there gives you an idea of the swell that can be found on some days), the Sealife Centre which you can get to using the small steam-railway from North Bay that the kids loved and the Naval Battles that take place in Peasholm Park a few times a week (these were taking place 30 years ago when my wife went as a child though are more technically complex now).
The flat was clean and had all you really need. We did miss WiFI but there is 4G coverage in the flat so not spending all my time on the internet was probably a good thing on balance.
The rooms are a great size and the kitchen has plenty of facilities (washing machine, freezer, fridge, microwave, toaster and cooker) and utensils, pots, pans, plates etc.
The owner was very responsive to questions before and during the stay so could not be faulted.
Would definitely consider using it again if planning to go the area again.
Lovely holiday flat
We've just returned from a great bank holiday weekend in Scarborough. The location of this flat couldn't have been better for us - really close to the North Bay and only a few minutes walk from the beach chalet our extended family had hired. We spent every day on the beach with, although we managed a quick trip to Scarborough Castle which is worth a visit and only a few minutes drive away (you could walk but our children are way too young for that!). Peasholme park is 2 minutes away and absolutely lovely - our sons loved the naval battle that happens on the lake a couple of times a week during the main holiday season.
On arrival at the flat we were immediately impressed by how clean and well equipped it is. We have 3 young children, and it didn't ever feel cramped or crowded. The children loved all the books and toys in their room - we took the buckets and spades, the cricket set and the chairs with us to the beach. It was fantastic to have all these things provided. The kitchen is also fully stocked with all the crockery, utensils, cutlery etc you need, as well as washing up liquid, tea towels, hand soap... And the bathroom is massive and spotless! I was very impressed that we were each provided with a bath towel and smaller towel - so 10 fluffy towels in all!!
It really is a home from home, and we are planning to return next summer because we loved it so much!
This apartment was lovely and we really enjoyed our stay in Scarborough. It was definitely home from home, spotless clean and well equipped. My grandchildren loved the toys, books and DVD's, it was really homely and comfortable. I will definitely book this apartment again and thanks to John for letting us stay.
Very pleasant place to stay close to the north beach. Comfortable beds, clean and well presented. enough room for a family of 4.
Will definitely stay again.
We have been coming to Scarborough for many years with a young family and this flat suited our needs perfectly. Just as described in the listing, clean and tidy with everything you could need when self catering. Nice surprise for the children to find toys and books in their bedroom, even cricket bats which we used on the beach.
5 minute walk to the north bay beach where we spent the whole week.
Excellent customer service and communications with John, the owner. Our deposit was returned within a couple of days.
Will definitely return and will definitely recommend to friends and relatives
