About Suellen Grealy
My husband is from Nice, but after 30 years of living in London, he's sort of a Frenchman with an English accent, and I'm a Londoner with a slightly American accent. We talked about moving to Nice for more than 20 years, but the opportunity didn't arise until two years ago, when Joel went into business with his sister here. We miss London, but waking up to blue, blue sky nearly every day makes us happy. We know it makes other people happy, too - which is why we decided to buy this studio apartment with its lovely balcony and share it with our friends - and with others, too. I've been exploring Nice and the Cote d'Azur ever since we arrived, and I really believe it's one of the most magical places in the world!
Suellen Grealy purchased this Apartment in 2012
Why Suellen Grealy chose Thiers
We looked for an apartment in the Musiciens neighbourhood because even though it's central and close to the beach, it doesn't feel touristy or overcrowded, the way other parts of Nice sometimes do. It's rare to find a studio with such a big balcony, and we loved it the moment we saw it. The apartment has a calm, airy feel and, quite simply, it's a nice place to be!
What makes this Apartment unique
There are several things that make this apartment punch above its weight. First of all, the balcony: it's about 18ft (6m) x 6ft (2m), with sliding doors to the living room and separate kitchen, plus a big sun awning (sunny until mid-afternoon). If the beach weren't so close, people might be excused for spending their whole stay lazing, snoozing, reading, eating and drinking on the balcony. Secondly, it feels spacious. The living room (with double doors), kitchen and bathroom are joined by a bright hall, which gives it an open, airy feel. Thirdly, it's equidistant between the Promenade des. Anglais and the train station - about 10 minutes' walk from either. By train you can easily get to Monaco, Menton, Cannes, Antibes within half an hour!

Lovely little studio, great location and loved the balcony
Great location and wonderful apartment
I had a terrific time at Suellen's apartment! It is in a great location. Just about equal distance between the train station and the beach. Easy walk. The street literally starts at the train station and goes directly to the beach. The lively Messena and old town areas are close as well. The apartment is within an more modern apartment building. Nice lobby with marble floors, an elevator and lights that are on motion detectors (not like any other apartment building which has timed lighting). The apartment is lovely and very well-equipped. Everything is updated and well-organized for a studio apartment. Nice marble floors. There is even a new washing machine! Easy to use. The sleeping sofa was really comfortable! And it folds out and in with one pull! Easy to go from living room to bedroom in 10 seconds if you need more room to get around. The terrace was great! Wonderful view and place to unwind. It has an automated retractable awning! I spent a good deal of my time there when I was at the apartment. The blinds are also automated and go all the way to the floor! Wonderful to have when you want to really block out the light. AC is the best. Cools down quickly and quietly. I was travelling solo and this apartment was perfect. You can walk everywhere! Suellen provided a lot of brochures about the town, was very good at giving me instructions about the apartment and also provided me with a wonderful bottle of rose!! Communication with Suellen is quick and I appreciated it so much. She is a very kind person and a pleasure to know.My husband surprised me and flew in to visit me for a few days during my stay, and we both slept like rocks. (He only had a backpack, so it didn't take up room in the apartment, and we flipped the bed to the sofa during the day.) I will rent this place again next time I come to Nice. Thank you Suellen!!
Clean, compact, modern and well equipped.
This is a great apartment in a lovely block. The area is quiet yet within easy walking distance of the beach and the town. Such friendly and helpful service from the owner. I cannot recommend this place too highly. Two words of advice - stay here!
Great little apartment
Great little studio in Musicians Quarter in lovely old building. This is our second visit and it did not disappoint. The studio has a great balcony, kitchen and bathroom as well as spacious bed/living room. The owner has thought of everything you might need for your stay. The apartment is spotlessly clean and contemporary.
The owner also leaves a really useful guide for things to do in Nice and great places to dine.
We stayed for 16 days, studio was spotless with everything you would need, even a lovely bottle of wine from the owner Suellen on arrival. Central for everything, trains, Buses, Restaurants and beach. Excellent
Everything was just perfekt! beautiful balcony with great view and the studio was just a 10 min walk from the beach. Suellen was great and solved the small problems right away.
The studio is a 10-minute walk from the beach - the famous Promenade des Anglais.
Nice Cote d'Azur airport is a short cab ride away (about 20 minutes); there are also buses from the airport that stop within a five-minute walk from the building. The main Nice train station is a 10-minute walk.
The Musiciens neighbourhood is part of central Nice, easily accessible on foot or by public transport (bus/tram) to most of the city's key points of interest. It is a 10-minute walk to the beach.
