About Steve Rowlands
My parents and grandparents were born and bred in this historical town of Llantrisant and we live locally with our two sons. Having grown up in the area we are familiar with all it has to offer and the surrounding areas.

We bought Bwthyn Bach which means 'Little Cottage' 10 years ago for its location in this small town of Llantrisant. Its situation near to local shops, pubs and walks is perfect for a relaxing holiday and easy access to all the beautiful surrounding areas in South Wales.
What makes this Cottage unique
Bwthyn Bach benefits from being in the centre of Llantrisant with parking outside the property or a car park just 100 mts away. We welcome well behaved small dogs.
Cottage was really nice and had everything we needed.
Great cottage and location easy for sightseeing. Big Tesco nearby plus a really good local grocery shop a minute up the road. Cottage very well stocked and cared for.. Road a bit busy but not a big issue for us. .Locals were fabulous. Loved the shops and pub and craft/art building.Would return.
Perfect home away
We really enjoyed our stay! the property is neat and clean with everything you need for a trip away in the Valleys.
The surrounding area is beautiful and the locals are friendly, the convenience of Tesco and the local shop just moments way was great.
Having a doggy in tail with us meant that the common down the road was useful as well as being a short distance to local beaches and sites. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting Ogmore beach and castle with a spot of lunch/Brunch at Cobbels. As well as local National Trust sites with Pup in tow.
The local area is extremely dog friendly with plenty of places they can come along with.
We would certainly visit again!

Really central for both Cardiff and surrounding areas need a car and a sat nav but the property is spot on

A lovely Welsh cottage in the heart of a lovely Welsh town.
I really liked all rooms in this cottage. We were comfortable throughout our stay. The town itself is also lovely. All amenities are close by. Lots to see and do in the surrounding area. We will choose this cottage again if back in the area.
Beautifully presented and perfectly located holiday base
We’ve had a great stay at this fab little cottage in llantrisant with our two, almost adult children and three dogs. We are responsible dog owners with high standards and it’s often difficult to find holiday accommodation of a great standard that will accept dogs. This place was perfect! A small hitch with the hot water supply was very quickly rectified on Saturday morning with no problem at all.
Located in a pretty village less than 30 mins from Cardiff City Centre, you can park directly outside but the road is quite narrow. However there is a free car park less than 2 minutes walk away. We had a super, well priced and delicious meal in The Bear, again only a couple of minutes walk away from the front door. All in all, a great experience and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend

The nearest railway station is Pontyclun which is approx 3 miles away and Pontypridd approx 5 miles away.
The wonderful city of Cardiff with its historical castle is half an hour by car 20 mins by train.
Talbot Green shopping outlet is 5 min by car.
The lovely old market town of Cowbridge in the vale of Glamorgan with interesting individual shops, pubs and restaurants is a 20 min drive away.
Barry Island of 'Gavin and Stacey' fame is a half hour drive.

In South Wales you're never far from a mountain or the sea - so it's no wonder walkers, cyclists, surfers and sailors love to come and visit. There is a real buzz about our capital city Cardiff and the nearby Glamorgan Heritage Coast. Swansea & the Gower, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Cardigan Bay all have wonderful clean beaches and some surprising marine life.
The Llantrisant area
Llantrisant is known for its pub culture with a number of venues including The New Inn, the Wheatsheaf and the Cross Keys Hotel. Formerly in the Bull Ring was the Rock and Fountain pub, which became the home of the original Llantrisant Workingmen's Club founded in May 1953 by Seth Morgan, Freeman of Llantrisant.
The focal point of the town is the Bull Ring, a commercial square in the centre of the town that was used for bull-baiting, until it was disallowed in 1827 due to unruly crowds. The square contains a statue of Dr William Price a pioneer of cremation.
1KM away is the Talbot Green shopping park with a range high-street shops such as TK-Max, River Island, Next and Marks and Spenser. Within the shopping park is many places to eat and drink such as Starbucks, Costa, Harvester, Frankies and Bennies and Chiquito. There is a large Tesco express in close vicinity.
