Snipe Cottage has an entrance hall leading to a drying room/toilet with a washer/dryer. There is a large lounge/diner with Freeview TV/DVD, and a leather sofa and chair, this has panoramic views down the valley through a large picture window. Off this is a modern well equipped kitchen with granite work tops, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, electric oven, microwave and ceramic hob. Upstairs there is a master bedroom with metal framed double bed with extra deep memory foam topper for added luxury, ensuite bathroom with walk in shower and a second bedroom with twin beds and a separate family bathroom with bath and shower.

The cottage has underfloor heating downstairs and in all the bathrooms and designer radiators in all the bedrooms.

Ridgehead Farm Cottages were created in 2008 by converting a 200 year old historic barn into 2 luxury cottages, they are both rated at the top end of 4 star by the tourist board. Set at 1500ft on a 80 acre equine farm within a site of Special Scientific Interest, they offer stunning views and year round peace and tranquillity yet are conveniently located for local amenities and exploring the Peak District. Each cottage has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and sleeps 4 so are perfect for families or couples, the 2 cottages can be booked together (10% discount) to sleep 8. With underfloor heating downstairs and in all bathrooms they provide a warm, cosy retreat at the end of the day.

Notes on accommodation: On arrival there will be a welcome basket with tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and a bottle of wine. All towels, bed linen, washing up liquid, washing powder, conditioner and dishwasher tablets are provided. Cot and high chair are available on request. Ample private parking available adjacent to the cottages, undercover for bikes and motor bikes. Outside: There is a large flagged patio shared between both cottages with garden furniture and bbq, it offers stunning views into the valley. There are 80 acres of private moorland and ponds, ideal for quiet evening walks or dog walks. Check out time is 10am but if no-one is arriving the same day we are happy for you to stay later, please ask.

Absolutely beautiful cottage with everything you could want and need. Really comfy beds, well equipped kitchen with everything you could need including a coffee pot! Beautifully furnished and lots of thoughtful touches. Untility room and washing machine very handy. Pet friendly, lovely and warm, brilliant shower in the main bathroom! Fabulous location and views, was lovely to lie in bed and watch the sunrise. Lots of lovely outdoor space, was really nice to have the horses and chickens outside. Owner is lovely and will do anything to make your stay as good as possible, but leaves you alone to enjoy your privacy which was great for us on our honeymoon! Lovely location eith the village 3 miles down the road and lots of places within a short drive. Would totally recommend staying here,in fact we’re booking to come back this year!!

Lovely cottage with far reaching views over the surrounding countryside ideal for exploring this beautiful part of the country. The cottage is very well equipped and a really cosy to return to and the views from the terrace captivating. The local village of Longnor provides daily essentials and a couple of good pubs and Buxton is only a short drive away. Highly recommended, we had a lovely weekend there and our dog is already nagging to return.

There is everything you need in the cottage, including a very nice welcome pack. It is lovely to watch the horses each day and the view from the cottage is amazing. The beds are lovely and comfy so slept well, which is always good. We would definitely recommend to others!

Both Manchester Airport and East Midlands Airport are an hour away.

We are 50 minutes drive from the M6

The nearest train stations are Stoke or Macclesfield which are both 30 minutes drive away.

Distances:

The nearest pub which does meals is 3/4ml away. The village of Longnor with village shop is 3mls away. Buxton and Leek are both 6mls away with supermarkets, restaurants, etc. Bakewell, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Alton Towers are all within 15mls.

Further Details:

The nearest pub is the Winking Man which is 3/4 mile away. There is an excellent fish and chip shop in the local village of Longnor which is 3mls along with other pubs.
