Immaculately clean home, well-situated close to the seafront and pubs, restaurants, etc. Based over four floors, we never explored the basement or attic room as the ground and first floor had all the accommodation we needed. Spent a long (Sat-Tues) weekend there in September 2019 and will definitely return. Whitby is a lovely town with much to see for visitors. We don't have a dog but it's clearly a favourite destination for responsible dog-owners! This home is very comfortable, wifi is great, and all amenities are provided. Only negative we found was that whoever was in the house prior to our visit hadn't put the blue wheelie bin out on the previous Wednesday, so it was full to the brim with no room for our recyclable garbage. No problem - quick visit to the Co-op in town, black bags purchased and we took our rubbish home with us! We would 100% recommend this home to other visitors to Whitby. Many thanks, Willie and Margaret Evans
5 West Terrace Whitby
Excellent location, lovely well equipped house with the added bonus of parking for two cars.
Ideally placed victorian town house
Good sized rooms. Plenty of space for 6 adults. Reasonably well equipped.
Decoration a little slap dash. Some areas could do with a good clean.
Vehicle entrance to yard very narrow and not much space to swing in meaning we had to park on the narrow service road outside the gates.
Additional parking scratch cards sorted quickly by owner but cleaning company charged a call out fee of £15 for dropping off. They also entered the property (whilst hubby was having a nap) rather than posting through door, luckily they didn't let the dogs out.
Yard a good early morning sun trap, just needs a tidy up.
Ideally located for a short stroll into the town and prom.
Checked with owner and he was happy to allow 4 dogs which was fantastic.
Lovely house in an ideal location.
Really nice house in a fantastic position. Very homely. Plenty of room. Facilities were brilliant. Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone.
Top location! Top place! Whitby is the best!
Great location on West Cliff, walking distance to beach and to town - ideal! Beach hut is good too. How often to you get one of those?
Left the car outside back gates. Good to have your own dedicated space. Parking in Whitby can be a nightmare.
Lovely house, very spacious. Modern kitchen and newly fitted bathroom (I think). All good.
Everything orovided, lovely soft towels, comfy bed, dvd’s and books provided. We will be back!
Great location with potential.
This house is in a great location and has the benefit of a beach hut in the summer months which is a real bonus. However, dogs are not allowed on the stretch of the beach where the beach huts are in summer. The parking is a limited benefit as it is only suitable for a small car and the access is difficult as it's via a steep ramp. The outside sitting area needs improving as it's not a pleasant space. The house is spacious but needs updating.
Appreciate that access to the back yard is only suitable for certain small cars, however having a guaranteed parking space outside the back gates, right next to the house, is a godsend in high season. Sorry you didn’t like the back yard for sitting out, in my experience that’s usually down to the weather! It is after all, a backyard in Whitby with rose bushes and a table and chairs. I’m afraid if youre expecting a Provence garden, you’re likely to experience some disappointment.
Located 50 yards from the cliff top and Whitby Spa, with sloping pathways past the Pavilion theatre down to the main Whitby beach
Now includes the use of a beach hut on the main beach
Less than half a mile (easy walking distance) from Whitby town centre with its individual shops, harbour, old pubs, fine restaurants, gastropubs and of course, fish and chip shops - the best in Britain, according to AA Gill in the Sunday Times.
Beautifully situated for long walks along the beach to Sandsend, clifftop walks both North and South, and visits to North Yorkshire Moors ant the NYM steam railway through Heartbeat country to Pickering.
