About Mandy Gibson
Hugh and I moved to Riberac November 2004 and we purchased the house in 2005 as our permanent residence.
Mandy Gibson purchased this Villa in 2005
Why Mandy Gibson chose Ribérac
We visited Riberac as we had friends that moved out here and fell in love with the beautiful countryside. We are 5 minutes drive from all the local amenities yet we have the beautiful countryside all around us.
What makes this Villa unique
The house has been our home for 12 years so it's fully functional and feels like a home and not just a holiday let. The property is for your use only we do not stay on site when the property is rented. Riberac has a great range of bars and restaurants and it's a great base for exploring the Dordogne.

Fabulous holiday, loads to do nearby, great house with swimming pool!
Lovely holiday house - a real home from home with everything you could ever want in the house. Great location with lovely walks for our dogs nearby.
Lots to do with Kayaking in Riberac, historic sites, shopping, market towns and much more.
We had the best holiday we have had in years and would definitely consider going back soon.
Mandy was great if we contacted her with any questions - very helpful.
The weather was amazing for our last 2 weeks of our holiday so we spent many hours lazing in the sun on the decking by the pool. Perfect!!
Thank you so much for taking time to review our property and saying such great things.
Really pleased you and your family had a fabulous time and were able to enjoy the house and area.
Great guests who looked after our home from home and treated it as their home. Would welcome you all back again.
All the best to you all. Hugh & Mandy
lovely property in a stunning part of France
We have just returned from a two week stay at Chez Gibson. It is a very comfortable house with everything you need. Riberac is a lovely town and we highly recommend exploring the surrounding areas. La Jemaye and Brantome are definately worth a visit and not too far to travel from the house. Thank you Mandy and Hugh we have had a really lovely holiday
2 weeks of fun in the sun
We have recently returned from a fortnight's holiday at Mandy & Hugh's lovely house near Riberac. The house has everything you could wish for and is spotlessly clean. They had even gone to the trouble of providing a welcome pack so that we could have a cup of tea &/or a glass of wine on arrival. We were travelling with our spaniel so were delighted to find that the garden was completely enclosed which meant we could relax without worrying that she could wander off. The built in BBQ meant that I had the fortnight off cooking as the other half loves BBQing and the swimming pool was wonderful. There are many lovely places to visit within an hour or sos drive (Bergerac, Brantome & Sarlat to name but a few). However you do need a lot of willpower to leave the haven of the house and garden. All in all we had a wonderful stay and hope to return. Would highly recommend.
Hi Lisa and Peter,
Thank you very much for your lovely review. We are so pleased that you enjoyed our home and Daisy the dog was safe and happy in the garden.
As you said the Riberac is a lovely place and a great base for to explore the beautiful area.
We wish you all the best Mandy & Hugh
A Great Villa......
We found the villa fully lived up to the description on the website. It was clean, well laid out and a delight to stay in. We had a great time in the pool and lounging on the decking. The patio and BBQ came into their own in the evenings. The kids loved having the WiFi and UK TV.
Riberac had everything we needed along with an excellent market on Fridays. We spent most of our time in the villa but attractions such the Lascaux Caves are little over an hours drive away.
With two Labradors, having a dog proof garden was a real bonus.
A Wonderful Home from Home
We recently stayed in this beautiful French house, belonging to both Mandy & Hugh. Upon our arrival, both Mandy & Hugh made us feel very welcome, & were wonderful hosts, throughout our holiday, right up until the morning we left, but were not intrusive in any way at all.
The house is a real Home from Home, with everything a family would want or desire, including a Gorgeous Pool, (which was heaven on the very hot days!) WI-FI, Sky TV, (which was wonderful for the Dads & Boys as the football season was about to commence). The house is in an ideal location in Riberac, & its surrounding locations of interest. There are 4 major Supermarkets, that are only a short drive away & one is even within walking distance. There are 2 man made beaches, thats are nearby in the car, which are wonderful, the 3 boys (aged 9 & 5) loved going, as they got to swim in the river, & went kayaking which was free for the time we were there. We loved our holiday home this year so much that we have already booked for the same time next year! Looking forward to seeing both Mandy & Hugh again, & becoming as chilled & relaxed as we did this year xXx

Riberac has local shops, restaurants, supermarkets, post office and banks. Riberac local activities range from walking, sight seeing, canoeing, cycling, and fishing. Wine tasting of course is a staple part of the French experience! There are a variety of local festivals, fetes and firework displays that take place throughout the summer in the local villages and towns. These are aimed at all ages and generally take place between the months of June and September.
FISHING IN THE DORDOGNE
Permits are available form local tackle shops and some bars. The species list in the rivers are extensive, carp, bream, tench, barbel and many others, these can all be caught on a permit that covers all the rivers and some lakes in the whole Dordogne area. The river Dronne runs through Riberac.
There are also many private lakes owned by UK anglers that hold specimen carp and these do not need local permits because they are privately owned but will cost you for the daily permit, average 20 Euro per day. There are two private lakes 15-20min drive from here.
Some of the mentioned Plage/beaches have fishing available, which is included on your permit.
