The Wheel House Sleeps 8 (3 Bedrooms)
About Judith Hurford
Julian, myself and 3 children live here at Farwood Barton, Julian was born here, and I moved here when we got married. Julian runs the dairy herd and helps out with the holiday cottages. I run the holiday cottages and do the farm accounts. We live here with 190 dairy cows, approx 40 calves most of the year, with some sheep during the winter, 2 cats Spoldge and Trixey, a working dog called Rex who love catching the ball with the visitors!
Why Judith Hurford chose Colyton
Farwood Barton is a working dairy farm, the farm has been in the family for 3 generations, the original farm buildings in the Victorian Court Yard had got out of date for modern farming practices, they were crying out to be converted in to holiday lets. We converted them in 2009, we now enjoy having visitors staying with us and sharing our beautiful location. We as a family love living here in the countryside, we enjoy everything the countryside has to offer us, our livelihood, the quietness, our own space, the views, we still enjoy waking up every morning looking out to the wonderful view over the Coly Valley and beyond, summer or winter.
What makes this Cottage unique
Farwood Barton gives you high quality, modern, accommodation, hidden from the hustle and bustle of life, whilst being close to the Jurassic Coast beaches and road links into the South West:- A30, A303, A35, A3035 and M5. We want everyone to have a truly relaxing stay, and to leave feeling refreshed after a memorable time here at Farwood Barton.

fabulous weekend away
This property, is beautiful and in the most stunning location.
We had a lovely break and the owners are very helpful.
Would really recommend
Thank you for your lovely comment, we will look forward to seeing you another time.
Had a lovely weekend break with family. Accommodation was great and suitable for elderly parents. Facilities and equipment all excellent and the benefit of Wifi proved a bonus as mobile signal not the greatest. Would definitely visit again.
What a find
Such a lovely place to stay. It was so well equipped. Highly recommended
Thank you for your kind words.
I will look forward to seeing you in the future.
Wonderful short break in beautiful Devon
Loads of room in this clean, well-maintained barn conversion. Lots of back garden for the dog to run around in. Nice walk along the river close by. Fresh milk and locally-made apple juice in the fridge when we arrived. Friendly, welcoming, unimposing owners. Couldn't fault it. Would love to go back again for a longer stay. Glad to get back to some sensible roads though!
Enjoyable week in East Devon
Despite a mixture of sunshine and showers we were able to use the Wheel House as a very comfortable base for our party of 4 adults and a dog. There were enough interesting places north, east, south and west to give variety although care was needed to safely navigate the many narrow lanes especially since many of them were being repaired!
Thank you for making the time to leave a comment, very pleased you found lots of interesting places to visit.
The roads can be a little narrow in places although they are very quiet, all the local repair jobs on the roads are all completed now.
