About Theresa Phillips
We have lived in France for almost 8 years having previously renovated a Mill House in Confolens in 2002 and purchasing our barn in 2005. Andy renovates properties and I have my own treatment room within our home for beauty therapy. We live in a tiny hamlet comprising of ten houses and we have endeavoured to learn as much as we can about the french way of life, in order for us to try to fit into the community. As long as you attempt to speak some french, it is very much appreciated and welcomed by all of the locals. We have one friendly dog called Millie whom we have rescued since we have been living here. This year we would like to start building a couple of tree houses for guests and next year we're hoping to install a full size swimming pool.
Theresa Phillips purchased this Cottage in 2008

Excellent place to take it easy
Nice relaxing location with a uniquely styled property with helpful hosts.
Hello Paul & Linda, thank you for your kind comment and we're pleased that you both enjoyed your stay with us and that Leo enjoyed himself as well. Hope you had a safe trip back to the UK. All the best Theresa & Andrew
Wonderful stay at The Tower
We have just come back from the most wonderful stay at the tower. Set in lovely gardens, with a pool, serenely quiet and relaxing. Theresa and Andrew were so nice and friendly. As was Millie the dog. We will miss her daily visits. It’s a fab base for seeing the surrounding area, which is beautiful. Must visit places are, Montrol Senard, Confolens, Gouffre de Padirac and Oradour sur la Glane. There was so many interesting things to do in this area. We hope to return at some point. You will not be disappointed if you choose this property.
Lovely relaxing stay in a beautifully equipped Tower!
We had a lovely week at this amazing quirky accommodation. Ground floor, fully equipped kitchen with everything you need. First floor, lounge and modern shower room. Top floor, large bedroom with a very comfortable bed. Amazing views over the surrounding countryside. We visited the caves at Padirac and the village at Rocamadour which was a great day out. Did the velorail bike ride at Confolens which was great, easier on the way back thankfully. St Junien is a lovely town with plenty of great places to eat and Rochechouart the next village down which is lovely, nice Chateau and had a fantastic meal at the Hotel de France. All in all a lovely relaxing week in a lovely property in a great area.
Beautiful rural tower stay with pool
Thouroughly enjoyed our relaxing stay in the tower with everything you need, a home from home. Beautiful interior with lots of quirky furnishings. Lots of local woodland walks and short drives to local places of interest/ villages. Theresa, Andrew, Millie and filou were all very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend if you’re after a relaxing retreat.
Thank you Melanie & Steve for your kind commentaire, we are really pleased that you both enjoyed your stay with us and it would be good to see you both again if you were wanting to 'explore' the area further. Regards Theresa & Andrew
Calm, quiet & spacious
Booked as a surprise for the other half’s 50th Birthday- wanted something a little different. The Tower is that. Spacious living inside, with a smal terraced area to eat in too. The setting on the whole is considerately planted to give privacy to the owners, gite & B&B guests.
Hosts are professional & work the B&B arrivals & departures discretely alongside the longer let of the Tower.
Daily visits from Millie Dog made our day, friendly pup! And we also saw lots of the cat, can’t recall his name, he came when we called him Chappy though!
On the whole, a great base for siteseeing or relaxing by the pool- we did both. If you need advice on where to go, Theresa & Andrew are more than willing to provide helpful info for you.
Hi Coralie & Andy
We're both really pleased that you both enjoyed your stay in the Tower and we think that Millie and Filou are missing you both.
Thank you for leaving the Tower so clean and tidy and if ever you would like to come back, it would be good to see you.
All the best.

Property was fabulous had everything I needed for a great stay.
Lovely peaceful location and property really finished to a high and characterful condition. It was a real bonus having a large screen tv showing English programs, as I was house hunting during the day and needed to relax in the evening. Theresa and Andrew were great hosts and very friendly and helpful but let you get on with your holiday without overdoing it. Overall would recommend this fab place to anyone, if I had one tiny criticism, the walk from where you park your car, to the gite is across grass and it rained a lot while I was there so this got a bit muddy and slippery underfoot, it could have done with a bit of a gravel pathway. However this did not detract from a great place.
It was great to meet you and we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay in The Tower and thank you for leaving it so clean and tidy.
Hope all goes well with your French property purchase and we appreciate your comment concerning the walk from the carpark when we have had a lot of rain, although normally this time of year would be sunny and not so wet, it was very bizarre.
All the best.

Special interest holidays:
There are lots of leaflets/brochures available for places of interest.
We are situated approximately two and a half hours drive from the beach at La Rochelle, but we do have some lovely 'man made' beaches with lakes situated within close proximity. These beaches are very clean and have various pedalos and boats for hire as well as restaurants and children's play areas. The nearest 'beach' to us is at Pressac, which is about 15km away, although there is a much larger beach/lake at Saint Pardoux, which is about 30km away.
We are situated 30mins from Limoges airport and a 5 hour drive from La Havre.
Our nearest village is Montrollet, which is 2km away and has a bar/restaurant overlooking the lake. The market town of St Junien is a 10 minute drive away and features various supermarkets and retail outlets as well as some very interesting shops in the centre of town. Every Saturday morning there is a market and every 3rd Saturday of the month there is a very large market taking up most of the town. The city of Limoges is less than 30km away and is well worth a visit.
We have a large selection of leaflets available, which include places of interest as well as activities for children. Oradour Sur Glane is a village preserved since 1944 when the SS invaded and is only 8km away, but is worth a visit. A visit to Bellevue near Limoges is for all of the family and features train rides, mini safari, toboggan rides, mini-golf, carting etc.
A must is a cycle ride on the Velo-Rail either from Confolens or Bussier-Galant taking you through some wonderful landscapes at your own speed.
The Aquarium du Limousin in Limoges is fascinating for all the family with over 2,500 species of fish! Horse riding is available at Brigueuil, which is 8km away either for the experienced or beginner with randonnees through the forest.
Canoe and kayak trips along the river Vienne can be arranged.
For those with the need for speed why not have a go at outdoor carting near Chalus, comprising of a large circuit in excess of 1200m, which also features a restaurant.
The Parc du Reynou is a safari parc near Limoges within 45 hectares and includes a chateau to discover as well as some fascinating lakes and rivers.
A visit to Limoges would not be complete without a visit to the Maison de la Porcelaine. Why not tour the factory for free of over 200,000 items on display in a 1000m2 factory shop!
For those keen to fish, there are numerous lakes within the area for carp fishing either for the day or for the week to include equipment hire. We can make enquiries for you in advance if you so wish as well as making any bookings for any of the above and more.
There are also various châteaux for you to visit from the Chateau de Peyras at Roumazieres-Loubert or the Chateau de Rochebrune at Etagnac, both of which are not very far. The medieval town of Confolens is worth a visit, especially during the folk festival celebrations which take place during the middle of August and features lots of street entertainment, artists, market traders and various concerts.
