Villa in Aigua Blava, Begur, Costa Brava, Spain - Private pool & secure garden & all bedrooms & living spaces have sea views!
About Sarah Martin
My husband and I live in London with our children and bought this villa for our family holidays. It is has been a special place for our family to enjoy holidays with our friends. We love the beach and the local beaches are sandy and very pretty.
Sarah Martin purchased this Villa in 2005
Why Sarah Martin chose Begur
We fell in love with the area on our first visit there because of the beautiful beaches, dramatic coast line, greenery, golf, coast line walks, exceptional restaurants and endless charming medieval villages to explore. The villa is situated on the prime location in the area, getting the sun all day and protected from the winds - unlike the other side of Aigua Blava. When we saw the view from our terrace we were sold, it is mesmerising and quite special.
What makes this Villa unique
The property has a great holiday feel, is bright, airy and is perfect setup for two families to share. It has large secured garden for the children to play and explore. The house & pool face south so gets the sun all day. There is plenty of space to get some alone time if needed.

A magnificent holiday property in a beautiful setting
We stayed in Casa Blanca for a week and found the property, the area and the support from both the manager and the owner to be wonderful, exceeding our expectations.
The house is spacious and very well equipped and decorated. The pool is beautiful. Perhaps our favourite feature is the terrace, which has a view out to sea and is furnished with a huge dining table and chairs, and also smaller railside chairs ideal for a pre-dinner drink while watching the boats in the bay below.
If there were anything to improve, perhaps a small welcome pack of essentials for guests who may arrive late and tired would be nice, but there's a good supermarket within 5 minutes drive that is open quite late 7 days a week.
The beaches in the area are quite small but very beautiful and with a lively but refined feel. It's worth getting advice on parking for these, as this can be tricky for some.
Nice bars and restaurants are plentiful nearby.
Highly, very highly, very very highly recommended. We'll be back.
Beautiful Property and Location; Very Attentive Owner
Our family of 5 greatly enjoyed our one week vacation at this property in July 2019. The owner is extremely attentive, communicated well and provided excellent suggestions for excursions and restaurants that made our vacation more enriching than it would have otherwise been. The property manager was very friendly and helpful as well. My family was very appreciative of the attention that we received. The property is a wonderful family oriented home and was "as advertised." It is strategically located in Costa Brava for conveniences and excursions. We had an awesome time and highly recommend this property for any family that wants to have a relaxing and enjoyable family vacation without all the hustle and bustle of city life. Keep in mind the property is located on a hill side overlooking the ocean and is on a very narrow, dead-end road. It was a little challenging and interesting (but fun) at first backing the car into the gated driveway! Our car was equipped with very good cameras and sensors which certainly came in handy and made parking very precise.
Thanks again Sarah!
Thank you for your positive review and we are so pleased you and your family enjoyed your holiday. It sounds like you made the most of your time and experienced some of the great restaurants and enjoyed visiting the local area.
We hope you visit again in the future.
All the best.
Beautiful house, garden, pool, view of sea and location. Our family will book this place again.
The house is amazing. Kitchen, lounge/ dining, balcony and all bedrooms have a beautiful view of the Mediterranean. Everything you need has been provided. The garden has beautiful walkways through the trees and shrubs on four levels. The pool long enough for us to do lap swimming and wide enough for the kids to play games. The location of Aiguablava is great for visiting the beautiful hilltop towns and the beaches of the villages up and down the coast. The restaurants at these towns and villages are amazing for their value.
Dear Robert thank you for your wonderful review and I hope you come back and visit again in the future. Sarah
Brilliant Villa Holiday
We travelled from Australia and were treated to the most amazing stay in this holiday villa overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and Spanish coastline. The villa has everything that you want in a holiday home and with shops less than 5 minutes down the road. Awesome pool and decking area and we were treated to the most romantic views at night from the top floor massive balcony. We were spoilt with this great location with so much to do in the surrounding area. We would highly recommend it anyone who wants to R and R or explore the Spanish coastline.
Thank you for your review and we are so pleased you enjoyed our villa and this beautiful area. Hopefully you visit again from Australia in the future.
It was a pleasure to have you all as guests.
Fantastic, Spacious Villa with Off-Street Parking, Pool along with Wifi and English TV
The Villa is extremely well positioned in a discrete road only minutes from the nearest beach with little to no road noise. The Villa provides ample space downstairs for a large family/families with sinks in the bedrooms and two bathrooms (one room with bunks can sleep 4 children/young adults). Upstairs an open plan living room provides space for after dinner drinks, although it is rarely needed due to the large balcony that opens out from it. The kitchen is modern with various necessities, including all important washing and drying machines and a coffee machine in the kitchen which is a great touch. With seemingly unlimited cutlery and plates/bowls etc, nothing is left to chance for a large group. The TV room, with access to English TV (Incl. sports) is a nice place to relax after dinner whilst not missing out on your favorite show. An upstairs balcony above the property provides great views of the coast accessible by stairs which lead to a extremely easy to use gas BBQ which we used extensively. The pool follows on with the decor from the building itself, large numbers of sun loungers/chairs/towels etc and a grassed area below, complete with table tennis/swings and trampoline give younger guests a safe, yet private space to enjoy.
Local shops are nearby providing all you need, a useful guide was provided by our host with a comprehensive list of beaches and restaurants, our favorites were Llafranc/Callela (Beaches) and a lovely evening dinner at Mas Pou (English speaking staff) in a medieval town.
This Villa provided our group with a fantastic week away, we regularly cooked for ourselves whilst still being able to enjoy choice meals out. I would recommend the local area and this villa especially, the pictures don't come close to doing this property justice.
Thank you so much for your great review and we are so pleased you all enjoyed the villa so much. You were wonderful guests and we hope you returned again in the future.
Perfect place for a holiday. The view is amazing. Great kitchen with everything in it, not to mention the view it also provides. The house is really well laid out and so functional. Comfortable beds and good sized bedrooms. Gorgeous pool with lovely views. Private and beautiful garden. Will certainly be back.
We are just above the beautiful sandy cove of Aigua Blava which is a 5 minute drive down the hill. The beaches of Llafranc, Tamariu, Calella, Sa Riera, Sa Tuna, and Aigua Gelida, are all within a short drive. This is a great area for walking as there are 'rights of way' and walking paths along the entire coastline.
To really enjoy your holiday in this area a car is essential. The nearest airport is Girona less than one hour away, Perpignan is 90mins, Barcelona 90 mins. Car hire is readily available and quite reasonable from the airports.
The nearest small town Begur, a 5 minute drive, is, a charming bustling town crowned with an impressive hilltop castle, is a charming place to shop, roam the cobbled streets, have a drink in the square or enjoy one of the many excellent Catalan restaurants. Palafrugell is our nearest market town and offers a great choice of shops with everything you could want. There is a daily market with meat, fish, fruit and vegetables. On Sunday the big market takes place.
There are dozens of medieval villages in the area which offer great restaurants, boutiques and history, some of our favourites being Pals, Peratallada, Ullastret, roman ruins at Empuries and the ruined fort at Torroella de Montgri. Girona is fascinating; explore the ancient Jewish quarter, cathedral and walks. The Dali theatre museum in Figueres is amazing, Cadaques (home to Dali), a quaint fishing village a great day trip; ceramics and pottery shops at La Bisbal. Further afield, Barcelona is well worth seeing; the bus tour is particularly good and easy to do.
There is something for everyone in this area described as the jewel of the Costa Brava: relaxing in the villa, by the pool or on one of the many beaches; spectacular coastal and rural walks, water sports, marine reserves (Ses Negres, Islas Medes), golf, tennis, scuba diving, water park, horse-riding, go-karting; daily markets held each day of the week in a different nearby village or town; cafes, shops, superb restaurants either by the sea. This area is well known for its exceptional standard of cooking, both at inexpensive and at the more gourmet restaurants. There is somewhere to suit all budgets and tastes.
