Shute Cottage is a beautiful cottage located on the edge of Manorbier village centre which is four miles from Tenby. There is a 'Green Coast & Seaside Award' golden sandy beach which is popular with surfers as well as families, great for rock pooling when the tide is out this beach is also good for swimming, canoeing and angling it's dog friendly all year. To walk from the cottage to beach takes less than 2 minutes.
The famous Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is 200m from the cottage. Walk east to Tenby past Lydstep, Beck's Bay and along to Tenby, Saundersfoot etc or west past Swanlake, Freshwater East, Stackpole Quay and Barafundle, there are many hidden coves to discover on the way. The scenery is stunning in winter and summer.
Look across form the kitchen to the medieval Manorbier Castle and the 12th century Church of St James.
The original dwelling probably dates back to Norman times with a rare stone vaulted ceiling and later addition of a round Flemish chimney.
Shute Cottage was shortlisted for a National Award in Design and Architecture for renovation and expansion work within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The link and addition to the original cottage has made it light and spacious.
It has a modern interior with fully fitted kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine, freeview tv, dvd, digital radio, WIFI.
Manorbier has Beach Break, a lovely tea rooms just up the hill into the village. The lovely village shop, open from early until late is 1/4 mile. The Castle Pub and Castlemead restaurant both serve food and are highly recommended. The castle itself has a coffee shop and pretty garden, well worth a visit.
There are 3 bedrooms, a double with king size bed. A twin downstairs from there a flight of stairs to an upstairs twin both in the original side of the house. The utility room, shower and loo are downstairs. There is a bath and loo next to double room upstairs. The kitchen is a large, open plan area with dining table, sofa and wooden floors.
Outside the private garden is surrounded by fields on 2 sides, a leet runs through and a bank to rear goes into woods and shrubs. The narrow road to church passes the front gates. There are 6 acres of land running up the valley behind the cottage, Welsh Black Cattle and sheep are in there at various times of the year all, also a lake which has a variety of birds to spot.
