Archway Cottage is a newly refurbished traditional cottage situated in the village of Sculthorpe, just 15 minutes drive from the coast. The cottage is warm and comfortable, with efficient gas central heating and the bonus of an open fire in the sitting room, which makes it very suitable for all year round visits. The Georgian market town of Fakenham has a traditional Thursday auction and market, and a great range of shops, situated only a few minutes' drive away. The Sculthorpe Nature Reserve, home to the Hawk and Owl Trust, is just a few minutes’ walk and Pensthorpe Wildlife and Gardens, the home of Spring watch in 2008-2010, is also close by.

What makes this Cottage unique
The cottage is really convenient for both coast and countryside, and easy to get to by road from all directions.
We would book again!
Cosy little cottage for a good price!! We stayed there for two weeks with our two children and the little dog. The house has all it needs and we felt like home immediately. The couch and carpet looked new and the beds were good. Also the table with chair (which you have to set up before use) was really good! The heating worked well- the weather was bad sometimes and it was quite cold outside. The street was quiet, the beaches lovely and Fakenham and King´s Lynn were easy to reach. Our hightlight was the visit at Sandringham estate... so interesting to see some rooms from the inside. The glasshour is not petfriendly, so we did not go there, but at the cottage was a brochure of other pet friendly pubs which was useful! The owner was really helpful and friendy (mails). We would stay again! Monika from Germany
Thanks Monika. So pleased you enjoyed your stay.
cottage in Sculthorpe
Had a great week. Cottage was small downstairs, but bigger upstairs due to the bedroom over the archway. Perfectly big enough for four adults. Only slight niggles were no shower and no freezer. otherwise it would have been a 5. Great location and so much to do in the area
A LOVELY BREAK IN A COMFORTABLE HOMELY COTTAGE
THIS COTTAGE IS WELL EQUIPPED IN A CENTRAL AREA OF NORFOLK TO REACH OTHER PARTS OF THE COUNTY. IT IS CLEAN, WELL EQUIPPED AND I WOULD BOOK IT AGAIN.
Smelly sofa, dirty kitchen, noisy neighbours
Smelly sofa in the lounge. Dirty kitchen, oven and microwave. Woken at 1am by screaming neighbours who had a fight for 2 hours , then had a Diesel engine running outside our bedroom window until 6.30am. Bed uncomfortable too.
So unhappy that we left and went home after one night.
Wonderful Place to Stay
Once again we had an incredible week's stay in Archway Cottage, Sculthorpe. The cottage is well appointed, clean and just right for us. I would highly recommend staying at the cottage.
Cosy downstairs, with 2 very spacious bedrooms upstairs, and large bathroom.
Have holidayed there with our two young grandsons for the past 3 years. The cottage is in a quiet village but not far from Pensthorpe nature reserve, dinosaur adventure and other
Must go to places for small boys. Not too far from supermarket , beaches and cafe's and restaurants. We have always thoroughly enjoyed our stays at archway cottage.
Wells-next-the-sea is the nearest coastal town, only 8 miles away, with a wide sandy beach, pinewoods and dunes, and great fish & chips. The popular RSPB Titchwell bird reserve is around 12 miles, and Blakeney with it's picturesque quay and trips to see the seals, about 10 miles.
The nearest airport is Norwich. Sculthorpe village is on the main bus route from Norwich to King's Lynn, both of which have mainline railway stations.
Fakenham, 2 miles, has a good range of shops, supermarkets, banks etc.
Sculthorpe village has a pub/restaurant and a garage, but the nearest supermarket is on the outskirts of Fakenham (5 minutes drive). Sculthorpe Mill (just down the road) is renowned for food, and an attraction in it's own right.
