We have been advised to encourage guests to bring their own travel cots for children who need them - due to hygiene reasons.

Check in is at 3pm and check out is at 10am - we will of course do all we can to be as flexible as possible and if there are no new guests arriving or going on your days then this can flexible for you.

Harvey Lane House is only 1 mile from city center and a mile or so from the main train station (for all routes from the UK)

Easy access to one of the finest cities the UK has to offer - great live theatre, amazing shopping centre, several cinemas, fine river and city walks, live music, one of the best Cathedrals in the land and several museums and art galleries and it is easy access to the glorious Norfolk countryside and beautiful Norfolk and Suffolk towns, the famous Norfolk Broads and the amazing coastline which is only 30mins by car away.

Thorpe St Andrew is a peaceful & quiet area of this fine city but still only a short bus ride or enjoyable walk into the city.

Harvey Lane House has 3 separate luxurious bedrooms to serve up to 8 guests (linen provided only on request).

A luxurious bathroom with large and sumptuous free standing claw feet bath for a relaxing soak, high level Victorian style loo and cistern and large powerful double sized shower area with rain shower head - you will be impressed.

Free parking for up to 3 cars for your whole stay and free on street parking as well.

A fabulous large courtyard garden with decking, large table and chairs to wile the evening away with a glass of your favourite. We don’t provide a BBQ but feel free to use a temporary BBQ on the concrete slab provided (the lawn does look real but is Astro turf so best not to burn/melt this!).

We love to provide all our guests with as much information about the house and what to do. We have collected a great selection of what's on guides & tourist leaflets. We also provide a top tips guide to where to eat, where to go and places to see. We hope this is a great help to you. The info file also has lots of info about the house, which is also a great comfort. One thing to note - this house is a house which is purposely designed to cater for the holiday makers and is not where we live. Harvey Lane House is presented to the highest level possible and we are sure you will have an excellent stay.

THE LOCATION

Harvey Lane House was built in 1931 & is set in a leafy laned area of Thorpe St Andrew, Norwich - which is in an exclusive and highly sought after area of the city. The advantage of choosing to stay here is several fold - tranquillity and peace where 16 species of bird will greet you with their morning song, free parking for 3 cars for your whole stay (a real bonus), high end living with everything you need to cater for your stay, close to the city with only a short bus ride or walk and easy to escape to the surrounding Norfolk attractions which are as little as 30 minutes away (20 miles to the coast) - so you will have it all.

THE HOUSE

A beautifully and newly decorated/refurbished house built in 1931 and set in the peaceful and leafy suburb of Norwich, with stripped flooring, modern & period features and full gas central heating. Thorpe St Andrew, like the whole of Norwich is known for its safe and peaceful city living style. This place will be a great base to spend your stay (especially if you plan to go further afield to the Norfolk Broads or to see some of the best seaside resorts the UK can offer). Equally - this place will allow you sample the delights of one of the finest UK cities and is only a good walk of just over a mile into the city centre or a 10 minute bus ride.

There is room to park 3 cars for free (if planned well) at the front of the house and more space on the street if you have visitors.

There is 1 large master double bedroom with a sumptuous double antique french bed with a large wardrobe, 2 bed sides, large dressing mirror and a chest of draws. The second double room has a double bed (the option here is that we can change this room by adding an extra single put me up style bed or airbed so that 3 people (usualy children - please let us know on booking if this is what you need) and there is one smaller single bedroom with a single bed, large chest of drawers and a bedside table. All rooms have original stripped and varnished wooden pine floors. There is also a comfy double sofa bed option for the 7/8th guest in the living room for larger groups and families.

All fresh fluffy towels and cotton linens are provided and the house will be presented in pristine clean condition.

The living room has a large flat screen TV with a great selection of 60+ Sky channels, fast unlimited Sky broadband wifi and a DVD player for those moments where a good film is needed. This'll be a great place for you put your feet up whilst enjoying a well-deserved glass of your favourite tipple.

The large kitchen diner will cater for all your needs with a large dining table and a brand new kitchen with all the mod cons - this has become a favourite place to spend time for many of our guests - sharing a story, playing one of the many vintage board games provided (scrabble, Pictionary, monopoly, cards and more). The double French doors open onto a large courtyard area, which is decked with patio furniture and chairs for those warmer summer days.

All the basics like tea, coffee, salt/pepper/herbs oils etc etc are provided for your stay.

The separate utility room area has a washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, fridge and a freezer.

The bathroom has a separate large free-standing bath, separate double shower cubicle and is also newly refurbished (like the whole house) to a very high standard.

We are very confident that Harvey Lane House will deliver on all fronts as you enjoy and explore the splendours of Norwich and afar. Our previous lovely guests have written lots of reviews in the visitors book so it’s always nice to see how much they’ve enjoyed this wonderful house.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

Situated in the leafy and relaxing suburbs of Thorpe St Andrew - a very popular area of Norwich city. 500 yrds up the road are a great selection of shops for your self catering needs. The bus route into the city is 50 yards from the house and the journey no more than 10 minutes. If you prefer to walk then there is a picturesque 20 minute walk into the city from the house. We are confident your stay will a relaxing one but one where you will be able to dip into all the action as and when you desire.

There is a great park only 2 minutes away and some great walks to nearby pubs and resaturants down on the river (which is only 5 or so minutes walk away). A great selection of foody pubs can be found only 10 minutes away and are found on the River Yare - The Rushcutters, The River Garden and Townhouse not to mention some great ale pubs - The Fat Cat Canary, The Jubilee and the amazing Coach and Horses pubs not too far away.

THE CITY

Norwich has a wealth of things to do and to see. Medieval Norwich is one of the most spectacular cities in the UK with it's 900+ year old Cathedral and castle, a wealth of beautiful buildings and cobbled streets not to mention the great museums and art houses.

Norwich gets voted one of the best shopping experiences in the UK time and time again - we are certain you will not be left disappointed. With huge areas of pedestrianisation, 2 large shopping malls, all the usual excellent high end shopping brands with a huge selection of independent shops.

We also have a huge selection of excellent local and national restaurants, great gastro pubs and a super night life with several cinemas, some excellent live theatres and live gig venues - these really is nothing left you will need.

We are confident our house will offer you value for money and will be an ideal base for you to explore the wonderful city of Norwich and to also quickly explore further afield - the nest of both worlds. Let's face it - who want to be stuck out in the middle of nowhere when you can be near to the action a city can offer but within 30 or so minutes from the coast and all it has to offer.

Excellent little house.

House is lovely and clean and decorated and furnished to a high standard.

Location is ideal for exploring Norfolk and Norwich city centre has plenty of shops, bars and restaurants.

The house could of done with another or separate loo but we knew this at the time of booking but really this is only a minor gripe.

Would definitely book again.

Lovely property in good location

Perfect sized house for our needs in a handy location. Lovely styling but not so great for our ‘fiddly’ 3yr old but otherwise house was pretty well equipped. Only downside was not having spare linen for our 3wk stay, but this was freely supplied on request and the hosts were always quick to respond to any queries.

The extra little bits to make the design of the house are purely There to add to the wonderful Ambience this property office. Of course, moving any fiddly bits away from youngsters is always important to do as a parent. Harvey Lane house enjoys many excellent reviews due to its fantastic location and wonderfully equipped and comfortable setting - providing extra linen is never a problem for long stay guests And I hope that when your son was ill we delivered the new learning extremely quickly.Nothing is really ever a problem as our aim is to give our guests the best experience possible. Giving all of our guests a perfect stay no matter how long it is. All the very best for the future GC

Simply amazing!

We came to Norwich for a family wedding, and were super excited to find this 3 bedroom house for my family as well as my mother. The house comfortably fit 3 adults and 3 kids, with no issues at all. The house is beautifully decorated and had all the amenities we would find at home - perfect for traveling with kids - and even if we hadn't had the kids. Nicely done! I would highly recommend this house to anyone, and we will definitely be back!

Comfortable and stylish

We had a short mid week break in this property. It was well placed for us and had everything we needed. It was comfortable, newly decorated, warm, and stylish. The bed was comfortable, lovely shower and bathroom and well equipped kitchen. Although the road was busy at peak times, traffic noise was never an issue as there was good quality double glazing and very useful parking space at the property. The turning circle and entrance were a little tight but we managed. When we next return to Norwich, we would certainly stay there again.

A wonderful house!

I booked this property for to myself and three friends to stay whilst we had a four day break in Norwich. The owners, Graham and Collette, could not have been more helpful with the barrage of questions I asked.

The instructions for accessing the property were easy and concise. We were VERY happy when we arrived at the house. It is beautifully decorated and well equipped. It is obvious there has been a great deal of care put into ensuring visitors have a special experience.

The house is well placed for an easy bus journey into the centre of Norwich, as well as car journeys to other places of interest. The information Graham and Collette supply about both the house and local attractions was especially helpful.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this property. I certainly will be back!

Well presented a home away from home.

The property was very well appointed and very comfortable. We had a very enjoyable relaxing holiday. The location is ideal for exploring the local area and the Norfolk Broads. There is a very convenient bus stop 5 minutes walk from the property with a regular bus service going into the city centre. The booking process was straight forward and the owners Graham and Collette were always available to answers any questions that we had. I would have no hesitation recommending this to anyone planning to visit Norwich.
