If you want to go out there are numerous restaurants for every taste at the beach, the port or in the old town.

About Caroline Catling
We own and run Turpins Lodge Riding School and livery yard in Hook Norton, Oxfordshire. As well as 34 horses and ponies we also have, Woody, Luna and Frodo the dogs and Mabel the cat.
Why Caroline Catling chose Jávea
We first went to Javea when our children were small and fell in love with the area. Javea is loved by the Spanish as much as everyone else and it retains its Spanish charm. It is very convenient to fly to and we enjoy driving through France from Calais, Caan or St Malo or getting the boat to Santander or Bilboa and driving across Spain.
What makes this Villa unique
El Dorado is a brilliant villa for a family holiday. We try and have a minimum of one holiday a year with our grown up children who are now married and have babies of their own so the next generation will continue to enjoy Javea and the villas. During the day we enjoy time relaxing by the pool or going out to one of the local beaches with their restaurants and bars. During the evenings we take it in turn to shop and cook, often on the BBQ, as well as going to the excellent restaurants locally.

We rented El Dorado for one week in order to have a rare get together with our two children and their families, eight of us in total 6 adults and 3 children, aged 10 and 8. The villa was everything we hoped for and exactly as advertised, certainly absolutely everything one could need for a wonderful holiday. Everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained. The pool was a huge hit with the children.
We loved Javea and the area, the street in which the Villa is located is very quiet. Both restaurants which are within walking distance proved excellent.
Our aim was to have a relaxing family get together and the villa was ideal. We would no hesitation in recommending the villa to any relation or friend
Villa El Dorado is in a very peaceful location and ideal for a family get together of mixed age groups. The beach and shops are a short drive and there are two restaurants within walking distance.
Thank you for your review. If you would like to visit the villa again we would love to see you.

We were very lucky to have chosen the villa. From the many I looked up I think we chose the right property in the right location.
The villa was more than equipped for many guests and felt a real home for home. The rooms were well organised and very well decorated through out the villa. There waS more than we needed as there was a gym, a sauna and a small games room. The utilities were all supplied and functioned well. The pool area was delightful, fully equipped for all day catering. Fridge and BBQ and dishwasher, beds and washing facilities. The main beach par wS only a 10 min ride by car with it's many resteraunts. We had lots of good food from any places. The nearest to the villa is very close and is called Baccuss. Food was excellent. We would if possible return again. We would also recommend the villa to anyone who wants to spend some relaxg time in Javea.
Villa El Dorado is a lovely villa for a relaxing family holiday. We are so pleased you enjoyed it. If you are able to return we would love to see you.

About 5 minutes in the car to the sandy Arenal beach where you will find lots of cafe's, restaurants & beach shops. A great place to sit & have a drink & watch the world go by. It is possible to walk in about 45 minutes but the footpaths are not ideal, definitely not recommended with children or at night. If you go from the Arenal to the Port there is a long stretch of rocky coastline where there are several beach bars. The beach at the port is mainly pebbly, with lots of bars & restaurants.
Javea is situated between Alicante and Valencia about 100 kilometres. It is about 1 hour 15 minutes by car from the airport to the villa. It is essential to have a car to get to the villa and to get around when you are there. Taxi's are easily available if you want a night out without driving. There are two restaurants within walking distance at the bottom of the road, Agila (previously Villa Celeste) to the right and Baccus to the left, both very good for food and value.
Airport:- Alicante or Valencia = 100 Kilometres
Ferry :- Denia = 18 kilometres
Train :- Gata = 8 kilometres
Motorway:- Denia 12 kilometres
Beach :- Arenal 3 kilometres
Locally visit the Arenal beach, the port or the old town of Javea. Go and see the windmills on top of the mountain over looking the port, for a breathtaking view, not a drive if you don't like narrow roads with big drops! There is a traditional Spanish daily fish and vegetable market in the old town of Javea. The building is well worth going to see. The weekly market is on a Thursday. Javea's garden centres are interesting to visit.
Further afield there is an old castle and tourist shops at Guadalest. The coast is known as the Orange Blossom Coast because of all the orange groves. The local bodegas are excellent for good value wine. For a nice drive out the bodega at Jalon is worth going to.
Benidorm is about half an hour up the motorway. If you want water or theme parks, theatres or shops you will find them in this busy resort.
Alicante is a lovely city with lots to see and do including cathedrals , churches and the wonderful harbour area.
Valencia is a beautiful city and has been re-vamped in recent years. With museums, restaurants, night life, great shops plus a large beach there is something for everyone.
