About Donna Al-Sibai
I am Scottish and have lived and worked since 2001 on my small family run organic farm. We also established a little farm shop 'The Roost' where we sold our Aberdeen Angus beef, Suffolk lamb and organic eggs etc. The farm is no longer run on a commercial basis and we refurbished the shop into 'The Roost Cottage' where today I enjoy welcoming guests to Aberdeenshire from all around the world.
Donna Al-Sibai purchased this Cottage in 2001
Why Donna Al-Sibai chose Aberdeenshire
It is a lovely scenic part of Aberdeenshire and a stone throw away from the Royal Deeside. The Queen's Balmoral castle is just an hours drive away and you would pass through some beautiful towns and countryside along the way.

Cosy relaxing stay
We stayed at the cottage for two nights and would recommend it to anyone. It's cosy and comfortable with all mod cons and would be an ideal touring base for Deeside .
It's very clean and although situated near a road you are set far enough back so the noise doesn't bother you.
Can't recommend it enough a great place to stay.
I aim to make all my guests at 'The Roost' feel very welcome and my house motto is 'Clean, Cosy and Comfortable.
Great Base Camp
Just loved the hospitality and the setting as well as the house. Perfect basecamp to enjoy all the sites in Aberdeenshire.
The cottage had everything we needed.
It was perfect for us although beware of the rooster ;)
A comfortable stay. it was business not a holiday.
the only draw back was it was close to a main road which was not obvious
when i booked. the owners were very friendly, and i enjoyed my stay.
I always aim to make my guests stay a comfortable one.
The road is the B979 not a main road and runs along one side of the farm. It is a bit busier than usual due to work on Aberdeen's new bypass which is due to complete our area in August this year.
The cottage is fully double glazed and bedroom at far side. In two years of holiday letting and 65 guests I have only had two comments on this.
I needed somewhere to stay whilst up in Aberdeen on business and staying at Rooster cottage was a delight, much more welcoming than an hotel room.
The property was spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable with every amenity needed for a long or short stay. The owner was very helpful and friendly.
I will definitely return to Rooster cottage the next time I'm up in Aberdeen
I was happy to ensure that my guests had a comfortable and pleasant stay.
Larraine & partner were ideal guests. They were very polite and pleasant and the cottage was left tidy and clean .
I would be more than happy to welcome them back should they return to Aberdeen.
Quiet in the Countryside
A good place to relax away from the stress of an urban setting. We used the Roost as our "home base" for a week of exploration including upper Deeside and the Braemar Gathering, Stonehaven, and as far north as Fraserburgh. Donna was a wonderful hostess and we enjoyed our conversations with her. Her recommendation of the Lairhillock Inn was a gem of a tip - some of the best food we ate in Scotland and just minutes away. The Roost was comfortable and met all our needs, with the possible exception of a clothes dryer. A basic appliance in the U.S., we were surprised to learn that apparently nobody in Scotland has one! Not a deal breaker by any means. Thanks for your hospitality, Donna!
It was a real pleasure to meet and host the Muth family. Very considerate, tidy and clean guests. Nice to chat with and friendly people.
The farm is located in the small rural village of Maryculter 8 miles South West of Aberdeen and not in Cove as has been listed by VRBO. There are lots of lovely coastal walks with views to some of the old castle ruins, such as Dunnotar Castle.
