We are always happy to give you ideas for places to visit, or to go walking and cycling. I love fell running and walking in the hills, and my husband loves his collection of mountain and road bicycles and likes to get out mountain biking in the Peak District at every opportunity. The cottage has lots of maps and books for ideas on where to go. We very warmly welcome you here and happy to help you make the most of your stay.

Why Tiina Hill chose Wirksworth
We lovingly renovated the cottage a few years ago, and have spent happy times there ourselves and now want to let other people enjoy the magical countryside spot. I always feel that Hillside Cottage is a very happy beautiful cottage with the beautiful sunlight it gets and the great suntrap garden with lots of birds and butterflies.
What makes this Cottage unique
The cottage has an amazing tranquility and peace about it as it has a Scandinavian influenced beautiful decor, and has views of hills and fields. The garden offers a perfect opportunity for watching the evening sunset with a glass of wine, or enjoy the frosty views in the winter.

Home away from home. Lovely cosy cottage, great bed.
Great stay during Wirksworth Festival
With the lovely weather, this cottage was just perfect as it has a great garden with extensive views. Very comfortable place with dishwasher and powerful shower.
We enjoyed our stay so much in June we returned in August. We can’t wait to go again.
So pleased that you loved the cottage too. Thanks for coming!
First visit to Derbyshire
Spotless cottage. Kitchen well equipped. Nice to have milk in fridge on arrival. Need that cuppa after a long journey! Take the car to top of the lhill where cottage is, unload as no parking immediately outside prooerty. No problems with parking at the bottom of the hill. Altogether a delightful experience in Derbyshire.
This small cottage is a hidden gem. We had a lovely week. The area is very beautiful and interesting, we wouldn’t have mind to stay a week longer. It is a very nice cottage, very quiet and very well equipped. We felt at home.
Relax in comfort and style
This property is just as described, in fact probably better! The owners have thought of every detail that could make your stay comfortable and feel like you are really treating yourself to a relaxing break. The location is not for the faint hearted but it was exactly what we wanted and needed! So peaceful! The bed was comfortable and the cottage was incredibly clean. Finally the communication from the owners was quick, exact and useful. Highly recommended!
