Beautiful country Farmhouse in St.Ives A peaceful Location just out of town The Perfect Get Away for your family vacation
About Jayce Robinson
When we first came to st Ives we fell in love with the picturesque harbour town surrounded by golden beaches, surf, sunsets, fishing, country, woodland and coastal walks. It is renown as an artist colony and now has it's own Tate gallery. There truly is something for everyone and all within close proximity of hendra farmhouse.
Why Jayce Robinson chose Saint Ives
We have lived with our 3 children in Hendra Farmhouse for 25 years and enjoyed the space it gave us but now that our children are grown up and fled the nest!! we no longer need such a large home, so we now live in our summer house adjacent. We have also extended the kitchen with another conservatory, giving us an under cover chill out area looking up to the garden where there is a table tennis and trampoline area. We also enjoy the distance from St. Ives allowing us to be in the countryside while only minutes drive or 20 minute walk from picturesque St. Ives. Can't think of anywhere better.

Beautiful farmhouse in perfect location just above St Ives
Our party was 3 generations plus dog & we all had a fantastic holiday in this very comfortable house perfectly situated for trips to anywhere in south Cornwall & beautiful countryside walks. Friendly owners on hand if needed. Just found HomeAway a difficult company to deal with - this does not reflect on Hendra Farmhouse or hinder our enjoyment of the holiday.
The house was beautiful and the countryside breathtaking. The kitchen was huge, well appointed and one of our favourite gathering places. The kitchen windows offered a beautiful view of the backyard, birds and bunnies, and I loved the night lighting in the garden. The house was a nice walk down to St. Ives and we enjoyed the local pubs, shops and eating places. We really enjoyed the house for our family retreat. Everything was clean, spacious and the owners helpful. Thank you so much for a great vacation.
A little slice of Cornish heaven
This is a wonderful farmhouse in a great location for anyone who wants to enjoy the countryside as much as the coast. It was lovely to wake to the dawn chorus and a view of the fields.
The farmhouse is wonderfully comfortable with a well equipped kitchen, cosy beds and comfy sofas. Our hosts were great, so friendly, on hand to help but not intrusive.
Thanks for having us and we hope you’ll have us to stay again!
Lovely property and situation
Very comfortable and warm - it was cold and wet during our week there! Great for families and dogs.
A fabulous and beautifully maintained farm house in a wonderful location, we all had a wonderful time. We will definitely be back.
Beautiful home in perfect location
The farmhouse is lovely and beautifully equipped. Plenty of corners to sit and relax. A lovely garden for when the sun shines. A 20 minute walk down to St Ives so no need to take the car, which is a big plus. A lovely quiet location but with easy access to all that the lovely coast offers. We had a lovely time.
We are only a short drive (5min) away from porthmeor, porthminster and carbis bay beaches. Or you can leisurely stroll down Steeple lane which is always enjoyable, especially if you take a a short cut through gate farther down lane leading into Tregenna Castle, which has delightful grounds and gardens, you can meander down to the left of hotel and this will bring you down to a gate where you can cross the road and head down to Porthminster beach or head into St.Ives.
Plane: fly to - Newquay airport (50min drive from St. Ives)
- London airport (6 hours drive from St. Ives)
car: M5 leading to the A30 through Cornwall into St Ives
train: arrive in St.Erth and change onto St.Ives line
ferry: closest ferry port is Plymouth, 1.5 hours away.
It's 1.5 miles to St.Ives harbour front with restaurants, cafes, art galleries including the Tate. From hendra farm you will reach the main road (A30) immediately without needing to go through St.Ives town.
There are a good choice of quality restaurants and stylish shops but if you like a change from the hustle and bustle of St. Ives town we recommend a walk up to the ancient "Knills Monument" 200 mtrs. from hendra, where you catch striking views to Godrevy Lighthouse and Gwithian Sands and hike through the Steeple Woodland Nature Reserve.
There is a local tesco's supermarket nearby, just off the main road before Steeple Lane, which makes shopping really easy.
There is also a well equipped leisure centre and horse riding nearby
