About Mr Paul Biddick

Hi. We are a brother and sister act - born and bred within a few miles of Mevagissey. Despite us both independently moving away from our village (very unheard of) to work and experience life over the Tamar we have never ever left our roots and both always knew that we would return with our families to our beloved homeland. Ironically we both found ourselves widowed at relatively young ages. However out of heartbreak comes good and as a result we are now lucky enough to be the owners of No5 Waterfront Court & No6 Nare Court. We hope they will give you as much pleasure as they give us.

Why Mr Paul Biddick chose Mevagissey

We both so love Mevagissey. It conjures up such happy memories of family life as children. Going out on mackerel fishing trips and then going home to eat the catch. Alternatively eating fish and chips or cockles and mussels from the harbour, with gulls swiping down to take part. Mevagissey just hasn't changed. It is still one of the prettiest villages in Cornwall with its busy working harbour, bustling streets and an eclectic mix of craft & gift shops. You can hang up the car keys and within minutes dine at a variety of pubs & waterfront restaurants, sampling the fresh locally caught fish. Wake up to the clanking of the boats and watch the fishermen just outside of your bedroom window. As locals we love driving the 8 miles to stay here!

Notes on accommodation: Whilst we welcome children , due to the close proximity of the cliff-face the communal gardens are unsuitable for them to play in. No smoking within the property or grounds. Please note that Nare Court Residents Association has a ruling that pets are not allowed in the establishment. Outside: Balcony to front of property with outdoor furniture. Small courtyard area to rear. Communal gardens . Spectacular views across the ocean from the Look-out Platform. Utility Room: Washer/dryer within apartment. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included. Please bring own beach towels.The property is cleaned weekly.

A really nice clean and comfortable apartment with lots of space. As soon as you walk in the room you have the wonderful views. We would definitely stay again.

Fantastic, great view, very clean, comfortable and well equipped.

We had a fantastic stay. What a view. We loved having the chance to cook some meals having been traveling for 3 weeks. The welcome pack of champagne and a few other essentials was a grea touch and very much appreciated. Highly recommend this property.

Beautiful apartment in a great location!

We loved our stay in Mevagissey. It's lovely being up on the hill out of the hustle and bustle of the centre. When you want to go into the village it's a short 3 min walk. The apartment has everything you might need and is tastefully decorated. We would definitely recommend this holiday home.

Fabulous location

Lovely apartment . Spotless. Very well equipped. Bottle of bubbly in the fridge on arrival. Parking space rather tight. Superb views. Would definitely stay again. Excellent restaurants and pubs in Mevagissey. Number Five serves superb food. The Sharksfin , The Ship and The Fountain Inn also do excellent food.

I really enjoyed my stay. The apartment was everything I wanted. My only comment would be the car parking space was very tight for my large car. A Honda accord. I was however able to use a space allocated for visitors.

Been a few years since we came down to cornwall this time made very special stopping at ocean edge everything one could need so peacefull and relaxing stunning views lovely apartment champagne was lovely hope to definetly return

Location

Special interest holidays:

Walking is popular in this area with coastal paths leading from the village. Local artists run painting workshops and sea fishing & pleasure trips can be booked within the harbour (see owners website for further details). Fishing is permitted off the harbour wall.

Coast/Beach:

The beaches of Cornwall are arguably amongst the finest in Europe. The small beach at Mevagissey (dependent on the tide) is yards from the harbour and Polstreath and Portmellon beaches can be reached via the coastal path. Larger nearby sandy beaches include Pentewen and Gorran Haven. Caerhays beach is approx 5 miles away and has plenty of parking, snack shop & the bonus of Caerhays castle. World famous surfing locations can be found at Newquay which is approx 30 mins drive.

Travel:

Nearest airport - Newquay airport: 21 miles

Nearest train station - St Austell: 6 miles

A car is recommended if you are intending exploring the area.

Distances:

Nearest town is St Austell which is 6 miles. Truro is 15 miles & Newquay is 20 miles away. The picturesque town of Fowey can be reached by ferry which departs from the quayside.

Places of interest - Eden Project is 10 miles, Lost Gardens of Heligan is 3 miles.

Further Details:

Mevagissey has an eclectic variety of individual shops providing gifts and basic foodstuffs. The nearest superstore is at St Austell. There are a number of farm shops within the area and a well stocked convenience store at Tregony. There is a bank at Mevagissey with limited opening hours.
