A gem of a place in a beautifully quiet setting.
A great place to stay. Well appointed. Very comfortable. Very easy access by car to the busier areas of the Lake District and mountains, lakes etc. Quiet location on well designed holiday park. Staff pleasant and welcoming. Beautiful views, lovely balcony to watch sunrise and sunset. Well recommended for couples. Will definitely return.
Great apartment with good facilities on site.
Clean well equipped apartment. Good location for visiting lakes. Great facilities on site.
It's a bit like a retirement village... And it made me look forward to retirement !
Calm, peaceful and relaxing. It never felt "busy" or crowded even though there were clearly plenty of people staying there. The grounds and the buildings are extremely well maintained and our accommodation was well equipped too. I'm digging really deep here to find only a couple of things that I could complain about. The hot water for the shower was a bit hit and miss with poor pressure a lot of the time, the free WiFi is fairly useless and the bathroom lights were no brighter than candles. Other than these little things the place is really good and I wouldn't hesitate to return there in the future or recommend to a friend. Pub just down the road called "The Sportsman's Bar" has good food/drink and is open 7 days - very friendly service too.
Lake District comfort
Clean, comfortable and well equipped apartment in a lovely location. Village facilities good; used the pool and the restaurant and both were good. Staff were helpful and provided good customer service. Weather was glorious.
Will return in the future
Wonderful had a special time
Excellent stay loved the accommodation and venue couldn’t fault it and look forward to returning!
Ullswater: Clear but deep at 205 feet, with three 'bends'. Ullswaters Glencoyne Bay was very likley to have been the inspirationfor Wordsworth's famous poem 'The Daffodils' (15 minute drive)
Bassenthwaite: Four miles long, home to a rare species of fish, and a sailing club (20 minute drive)
Derwent Water: Three miles long, with four islands, a marina, and overlooked by Skiddaw (20 minutes drive)
Although no pets are allowed on site we recommend the nearby 5* kennels - www.berrier-boarders.co.uk
