About Jacquie and Kevin Mitchell
Hi; We are keen gardeners and live next door. We also enjoy walking, music, Yoga, reading and cooking. Kevin is a Physics Teacher, Musician, and Yoga Instructor. and I work in freelance communications from home, and am a garden designer. We are very friendly a little eccentric, and can often be seen pottering about or relaxing in the garden, which is shared with Windchimes. We love meeting new people and are always happy to chat, or respect your privacy as you wish. We look forward to welcoming you to our little bit of heaven.
Why Jacquie and Kevin Mitchell chose Torquay
Windchimes was converted from a former hayloft. We love the fact that Windchimes offers a slice of history married with modern and stylish design. It's really well located for visiting lots of attractions nearby, yet you wouldn't know it as the cottage is tucked away in pretty communal gardens, shared with us the owners - who live next door. Windchimes Hayloft is also in a fab position for walking the South West Coast path, and for visitors to the Geopark.
What makes this Cottage unique
Visitors often gasp with delight when they see Windchimes in the flesh. A character little cottage built of stone, it has a truly romantic, cosy interior with a pretty attractive mezzanine bedroom. It's in walking distance of beaches, restaurants and attractions yet quietly located in leafy upmarket part of Torquay. A well deserved cup of tea / coffee is yours on arrival. Ask us about anything that makes your holiday more perfect - information on horse riding, cycling, restaurants coastal or Dartmoor walks - in fact anything that we can help you with, we will. We have been known to help organise a surprise honeymoon at Windchimes for newly weds.

The stay at this cottage was lovely. Both Jacquie and Kevin were very welcoming. Very lovely homemade cakes on arrival. Nothing to fault except the stairs were quite narrow and the ceiling upstairs was very low.
Dear Rebecca; Thank You for review. I'm glad that you both enjoyed your stay. Windchimes Hayloft is cosy, quaint and quirky. The low sloping roof in the mezzanine bedroom, and the narrow and steep open tread staircase up to this level, are part of the charm of this bijou cottage. Both the steps and the roof are clearly mentioned in he details of the cottage, giving our lovely visitors a chance to decide if Windchimes is for them before booking. I'm really pleased that you enjoyed the home made muffins - they are becoming a bit of a hit! I'll have more ready for you if you return! Thanks again for your booking and all the best xx
This is an absolutely lovely property, with great attention to detail.
We arrived late on the night of 9th May and although it was after 11:00 pm Jacquie came out to meet us.
The care & attention that Jacquie & Kevin have out into this property is apparent in all of the fittings and accessories.
Jacquie & Kevin are very nice and went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
Its a lovely area with easy access to Torbay, Exeter and Dartmouth. Although we only stayed for a few days we managed to visit all of these areas.
We would strongly recommend Windchimes Hayloft & its owners.

A great base to see Torquay and the surrounding area from
We stayed for the first week of November.
We saw Jacquie mostly and she was very friendly and helpful. We had homemade cakes on arrival and also fresh milk for our tea. The location is ideal for the harbour and local sightseeing and is an ideal base for two.
The only thing we would have preferred would be a more conventional oven.
Overall though a lovely cosy place to stay.
Thank you very much.
Victoria and Mick
