About Sharon Fleming
My name is Sharon, originally from Australia but I have lived and worked in Chelsea for over 20 years and I know London, Chelsea and the surrounding area well. I also have two teenage boys who grew up in Chelsea, so I understand the needs of travelling families. My partner owns the hotel across the road from the apartment so this is another contact for our guests. We love London and do our very best to make sure our guests have a comfortable enjoyable stay.
Sharon Fleming purchased this Apartment in 1996
Why Sharon Fleming chose Central London
I bought this apartment because I love Chelsea, an exclusive area of London. It is 2 minutes walk from the Kings Road with shopping, restaurants, 2 cinemas and the occasional sighting of the area's celebrity residents! Many buses take you to Sloane Square and South Kensington tube stations (10-15 minutes walk) with direct links to the West End and Oxford street shopping. There are three supermarkets five to ten minutes walk away. The Thames River is 2 minutes walk with scenic river walks. Peaceful Battersea park is just across Albert Bridge for walks, jogging, children's playground, boating lake in summer or relaxing in the lakeside café. It is also an ideal location for the Chelsea Flower Show, the Natural History and Science Museums and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Sharon, had everything shipshape for us. Also bread, milk, butter, tea and eggs. Lovely not to have to run out first thing. A bit of a walk to Sloane Square or South Ken, but interesting streets make it not so far. You can always use the buses too. WiFi worked great, washer and dryer too. I would stay here again. Oh yes, it was quite too.
Overlook the need for repairs....
The flat is in desperate need of painting. A fresh coat of paint would make it much more inviting. The furniture is well worn. The bathroom doorknob needs to be replaced. If you can overlook this your stay will be fine. Great location, close to everything.
Fantastic stay, location is top notch
Recently stayed at this location for 6 days with a family of 5. The hosts are great and there is everything you need to have a fantastic stay in the area. Location is top notch. Photos accurately represent the property and it was very clean upon arrival. All questions were answered promptly and we had no issues whatsoever. Really enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone. Easy access to trains and busses, lots of really nice local pubs in the area, and a fantastic pack just across the bridge. We managed to see a good chunk of the city quite easily from this location.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. It is important to us that our guests have a good stay in our apartment so thank you for taking the time to give us feedback. You are welcome back anytime.
Great value! Excellent location!
Sharon’s apartment is very convenient for exploring the sights of London. It is walking distance to the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum. Sharon was very helpful with answering questions prior to the trip and she stocked the apartment with breakfast items which was very handy.
Thank you so much for your positive review! It was a pleasure to have your family to stay.
A fixer-upper in trendy Chelsea?
First the good things about our experience on Oakley Street: the property is in a prime position for attending the Chelsea Flower Show in May, visiting the beautiful Chelsea Physic Garden at any time, and for those who enjoy the boutique shops on Kings Road. Otherwise the location entails fairly long bus rides to the offerings of Central London, and the buses in May and June were often late, stopped their runs in mid route, and were continually diverted to other routes.
The bedrooms in the flat were comfortable and clean, had good down comforters and attractive touches. However the bathroom was a disappointment: inadequate lighting, undependable hot water, dust and hair behind the door, and no embellishments at all to cheer it up. Fittings were installed in haste and appeared to be the work of a reluctant amateur, as was most of the decorating in the flat. Throughout the flat were cupboards crammed with dusty and half-used cleaning supplies. The first thing we had to do on our arrival, on our own with no one to meet and greet us, was sweep the dirty steps and front door area. A bit of a surprise as that has never happened to us before in the UK.
The kitchen had a good hob, oven, microwave, sink, small fridge and dishwasher. We cooked several dinners a week in it for three people. However the saucepans are obviously castoffs with their peeling (and not very hygienic) Teflon and need immediate replacing. We appreciated the washer and dryer. The plants in the little back terrace were a welcome touch but the old tools, paint cans, ladder, brooms, dead soccer balls, etc. were not. We didn’t spend the time out there as expected—not pleasant! Also, time for some professional help In redoing the lounge and in sprucing up the entrance area.
So overall, the flat did not meet our expectations of what we usually enjoy in the “nicer” neighborhoods of London. Nor for what we paid.
I am shocked and surprised by this review! The guests, a lovely couple and their granddaughter stayed for a few weeks and as they had a longer stay, a discount was given (without being asked for). I saw or emailed the guests once a week during their stay and we chatted about the sights they had seen. NONE of the points raised in the review were discussed with me.
I always try my best to ensure guests have a comfortable stay and this is reflected in previous guest reviews. Guests have 2 contact numbers and are asked to let me know if there are any problems. I could have resolved many of the points raised here if I had known the guests weren’t happy.
Firstly, this is not a luxury apartment but reasonably priced family accommodation in an expensive part of London. It is much cheaper than other 2bedroom apartments nearby. We do keep cleaning products in the front hall cupboards- these are not kept in cupboards ‘throughout’ the flat. There are paint cans, tools and a ladder in a cupboard outside which is underneath the terrace and not visible from the terrace. We do need some storage for tools to do repairs.
I did explain in an email that I had an appointment on the day of their arrival, access was arranged and if they had told me about the dust on the steps, I could have arranged them to be cleaned within 10 minutes. I also would have changed the saucepans the same day (there is another le Creuset saucepan available). The other saucepans have been replaced today.
The bathroom has a new shower fitting, power shower and the hot water can be heated all day if needed by an override switch on the timer. There is a central light and a large lit bathroom mirror. We also have a back up electric hot water system if needed. Once again, nothing was said about hot water problems at all. I am sorry the guests’ stay was not as expected, I just wish they had told me about this while they were staying.
Holiday in Chelsea Flat
An excellent flat for visiting London. We stayed for four nights in April 2018. Sharon was very helpful with all necessary details in advance and the flat was very clean on arrival with useful supplies in the fridge for the first day. Very well equipped in all areas including many DvDs, games and puzzles. Very well located for the King's Road and Chelsea. Tube (Sloane Square or South Kensington) about 15 minutes walk. Would strongly recommend.
