The villa within Cromer Country Club has been tastefully refurbished with a lovely view of countryside from its large sunny terrace while just behind are the views of the sea and Cromer town. The Country Club is within ten minutes walk of the Victorian seaside town of Cromer, the Gem of the Norfolk coast with its famous Pier, lovely beaches and tasty fresh crab. It is ideally placed for exploring the Broads, the city of Norwich, and the wonderful North Norfolk coast with its bird reserves, seal watching, boat trips, fishing, quaint fishing villages. Coastal and riverside walks and the Steam Railway at Sheringham. On site is an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, whirlpool, gym, games room, plus a good bar and restaurant with evening entertainment. There is WiFi (chargeable) and also a launderette.

About diana surridge

We are a semi-retired couple living in North Norfolk. We love the area and we never get to do all the things we intend or visit the places up and down the coast and there is always more to look forward to another time.

We have a multitude of attractions around us and the Villa all within an hours drive from Hunstanton to the north to Great Yarmouth to the south.

The North Norfolk coast is one of the most beautiful in England.

The city of Norwich is called 'A Fine City' and this is very true with many attractions and one could easily spend a day there.

Why diana surridge chose Cromer

We were attracted by the use of all the leisure and health club facilities of the Cromer Country Club which is very well maintained. It is a 5 star Diamond Resort and we are one of just 20 'private villas'.

We are particularly pleased that even during the winter we can offer the advantages of the indoor swimming pool and leisure facilities.

What makes this villa unique

Almost everything which we enjoy for a break ourselves is available in Cromer. Golf - three great clubs closeby, Royal Cromer next door, Mundesley and Sheringham within 10 minutes, reading, relaxing, swimming and all in UK!

The Farmers markets, great local eating houses and pubs.

Glorious scenery, coastal walks, boat trips, seal watching, shopping and coffee in Holt, a beautiful Georgian town. The North Norfolk Steam railway and Bure Valley Narrow gauge railway. National Trust Houses of Blickling Hall and Felbrigg.

Fishing villages of Blakeney, Wells-next-the-Sea, Brancaster and you can reach all of these on the Coast Hopper bus (especially if you have a bus pass!)

Notes on accommodation: Accommodation is equipped with all practical and modern conveniences and is furnished to a very comfortable standard. Outside: There is a large sunny southfacingterrace overlooking gardens and countryside, with table and chairs and sun umbrella. There are gardens to sit in around the resort. Guests can enjoy full access to the resort's extensive health and leisure facilities which can make this resort a great place for couples and a lively, family destination. The children will enjoy swimming in the heated pool while parents supervise from the poolside whirlpool. The busy bar, part of which overlook the pool, serves a range of snacks and bar meals while the quieter, elegantly decorated restaurant offers a more formal choice of menu. There is nightly entertainment and a large games room. There is a gateway leading directly to the clifftop paths leading along to the beach, Pier and town and many walks in the other direction. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen (and duvets) and towels included, changed weekly. Property cleaned once a week Other: The dining area has table and leather chairs for 6 overlooking the same southfacing terrace with views to countryside.

We felt comfortable the minute we walked in.

Attractive, clean and comfortable accommodation in an excellent situation. South-facing terrace with good tree-top view. Wonderful cliff-top walk into Cromer, which is a lovely little town with plenty of interest to see and good independent cafes and shops. Good hiking area.

Our villa was well appointed

Our villa was well appointed and we were able to provide our own evening meals without any difficulty. The location for trips out along the North Norfolk Coast was excellent. The Wi FI billing seems excessive by modern day standards .

On the downside,:- Both Dining Room & Lounge Rugs still showed remnants of the previous occupier. The Ground floor bathroom had been swept but the dirt left in a corner. Apart from these minor issues, it was clean and well maintained with ample hot water and heating.

On a more serious note, nowhere of the site information sheets does it mention the complex is built on a steep hillside, with steep steps leading throughout the complex. One of our party has walking difficulties, so the site wasn't really suitible for him.

Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review William and for pointing out a couple of cleaning issues, we will pass these on to the Housekeepers so they are aware as this is unusual. Regarding the steps and hilly site, we do point this out in all our promotional material, we will review this and make sure it is sufficiently prominent in future. The Wi-Fi ,sadly, is not under our control as it is provided across the site by Cromer Country Club, who do charge as we mention. There is also good 4G mobile coverage too. But it is good to know you enjoyed the week overall and thank you for the 4 star rating.

Cromer Country Club

Despite the foggy weather we had a lovely family stay over Easter. There is plenty to do at the Country Club itself and the accommodation was really spacious.

Bright clean plenty of room. All the facilities you could need.

We had a lovely long weekend. The villa was bright clean and comfortable. Plenty of room and the outside private patio space was great. The pool facilities were also very good. The changing rooms clean and the swimming pool water was warm. Good entertainment in the Amber lounge and the food very good. Would definately revisit

Lovely clean bright apartment

Coast/Beach:

500 yd to beach by foot over the well trodden footpath on the cliffs and ten minutes walk down the roads to Town centre beach and Pier.

Many easily accessible beaches up and down the coast.

Cromer beach and nearby Mundesley beach both have been awarded the converted 'Blue Flag' for cleanliness!

Travel:

There is Norwich Airport 30 minutes drive away. There is Cromer Railway station with trains through to Norwich in one direction and Sheringham in the other. Also Buses from the earby Bus stations including the Coast Hopper bus which goes along the coast to Hunstanton stopping at all the villages inbetween.

Distances:

20 miles to Norwich, 25 miles to Great Yarmouth. Many surrounding villages up and down the coast and inland within 5 miles.

National Trust Houses Blickling Hall is 5 miles away, and Felbrigg, 3 miles.

The Broads are 5 miles south.

Further Details:

The nearest shop is just 100 yd away, and Cromer (10 mins walk or 3 minutes drive) has Morrisons and Budgeons supermarket and all major Banks. The nearby market town of North Walsham has a Sainsbury's and Waitrose and a Thursday Market. Aylsham has the famous Monday Auction.

There are many restaurants in Cromer and surrounding villages and good Fish and Chip shop within walking distance.

Further up the coast are the North Norfolk seaside villages of Sheringham, Cley, Blakeney, and Wells and the area noted for bird watching.

To secure a booking we ask for a deposit of £100 and balance 6 weeks before you stay. We take payment by credit card through the booking website, or cheque or bank transfer. On receipt of deposit we confirm the booking by post or email and send some local information, travel directions, plan of resort etc.
We are happy to accept bookings of 3/4 nights from September to July. Please call for prices

Changeover Day:
Changeover days are usually Saturdays but this can vary according to your needs. 3/4 day possible in low season
The villa will be ready by 4.00pm and we ask you to vacate by 10 am if it is a changeover day.
Key collection is from the 24 hour reception.
