The lodge has an extensive patio allowing sun seekers to find the sun most of the day and admire the wonderful view, especially at sunset. Very clean and well-appointed lodge .

  • 5 of 5

Excellent, well -appointed lodge with new carpets throughout and recently decorated. A new fridge was provided during our stay to replace the rather dilapidated old one we had last year. TV with Sky in lounge plus another tv in bedroom. Lots of indoor games and also outdoor equipment for beach etc. are provided for visitor’s use as well as some very interesting and helpful files of “ Many Things To Do “ in the local area. Local town Kilkhampton has a couple of pubs, chippy and a Co-op and The Stables bar and Pizza Ape at Penstowe both serve good food. Nearest beach is the lovely Sandymouth (check tides before going though) and many other good beaches are just a short drive away.

Situated with the best view across the valley towards the sea where you can see the most beautiful sunsets.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your excellent review Vicki I had hoped to get the new 'fridge in before or shortly after your arrival. The Cornish tend to do things "dreckly" which is like "manana" but not half as fast! Pleased you had an excellent holiday and hope to see you again next year Regards Roger

Comfortable lodge with stunning views

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed the location with the added bonus of a swimming pool. Enjoyed the NT beaches, Hartland Abbey, Bude and made a trip to RHS Rosemoor which was well worth the trip for the beautiful roses in full flower and scent.

Views were stunning from the lodge with an ever changing sunset each day. Also good to be able to walk to Kilkhampton for supplies.

Really nice, well presented holiday chalet with easy access to local attractions.

  • 5 of 5

Finding Penstowe and the chalet couldn’t have been easier and the chalet itself was very welcoming, well equipped, clean and tidy. It didn’t take us long to unpack and settle down with a glass of something refreshing and start to plan our week, which was aided by a fantastic amount of information, maps and guides available to guest left by the owners, thank you owners most useful!

We went on to have a delightful week travelling along the Atlantic Highway (A39) visiting the local attractions and surviving the ups and downs of the local terrain! The very natural beauty and steep steps at Tintagel Castle, Clovelly and Bedruthan, the vastness of Widemouth beach and the unique quaintness of the seaside resorts all made this a great holiday.

Fantastic location, fantastic lodge, great owners!

  • 5 of 5

This was our third visit to the same lodge... we have even tried to book again but unfortunately already booked on the dates required. The whole family love the lodge. It has everything you need and more for a great family break. But the iceing on the cake is the spectacular view from the patio doors!! Also the owners are great and have made us feel so very welcome. Thank you Roger and family!

Lovely, quiet place to enjoy holiday with your family

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed staying at Coombe View cottage and appreciated how well prepared for our arrival it was. I wish we could stay there longer to gaze at the coast and to enjoy having such a cosy base for our trips to countless places in Cornwall. Perfect place, cannot wait to go back there some time next year.
