About Mindy Southwell
We are Nick & Mindy. Nick is a keen skier and loves the mountains. Mindy, an Aussie, came to Sainte Foy in 2005 and ended up staying two seasons, running a ski chalet, because she loved the place so much. Having run a chalet for so long Mindy knows exactly what is important to make guests feel comfortable and ensure a perfect holiday.
Mindy Southwell purchased this Chalet in 2012
Why Mindy Southwell chose Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise
Sainte Foy is a fantastic resort - small but friendly, lively but not too lively (you cant get too led astray apres-ski!), and skiing for all abilities. The resort is probably best known for its incredible off piste but there is also plenty of great piste skiing & is very safe for kids. Sainte Foy is often spoken about as a 'hidden gem' or 'the best kept secret in the Alps' and a trip here will soon make you realise why. We chose Montalbert, this beautiful little hamlet just below Sainte Foy Station, because we wanted very easy access to the lifts & bars/restaurants at the Station but also wanted a quiet location with a local French feel and views to die for.
What makes this Chalet unique
The reason to come to Sainte Foy is for a beautiful skiing holiday in one of the best located small resorts in the Alps. The reason to chose Chalet des Cimes is for all that with quiet, super comfortable, warm accommodation and the delights of a really cosy living room, wood fire and a hot tub to soak those limbs after a hard day on the slopes. The chalet has brilliant access to Sainte Foy as well being within a short drive of a number of other world class resorts (Tignes, Val D'Isere, Les Arcs) in case you want to stretch your boundaries or sample something new. Booking is very flexible. We can offer 4 or 6 bedrooms (8 or 12 people), catered or self-catered, nanny availability, Sat to Sat bookings, Sun to Sun and even shorter stays.
Please consider the following guidelines when booking this property:
100% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date. 50% refund for cancellations more than 7 days before check-in date.
The chalet was beautifully presented on arrival and very peaceful with stunning views. It was very well presented and equipped with all mod cons to make the kids and adults happy. The location is a few minutes drive from the resort centre, giving a true mountain hideaway feel, whilst being very near to the central hub.
Sainte Foy is a great resort, small and cosy with everything you need. Safe family skiing areas practically no lift queues.
The chalet had everything and more from wifi to Nespresso's t. The boot drying room and Jacuzzi were excellent features too.
After a long drive down from England it was a magical feeling walking into your chalet and one we would like to repeat. Many thanks

Beautiful chalet and location
A great chalet, beautifully converted traditional farmhouse with really superb views. A very quiet but convenient location. End of season so no snow at chalet level so enjoyed good walks as well as skiing.
Easy to walk(uphill),bus or drive to lifts and ski station.
Chalet is very well equipped and well maintained and the hot tub is an added luxury enjoyed by young and old. All,adults and pre teen children, found both the chalet and its location ideal with an easy drive to the resort for skiing and eating .
Superb family skiing holiday!
Set in the beautiful resort of Sainte Foy, Chalet des Cimes provided the perfect location for our family skiing holiday. The chalet is very spacious, and incredibly comfortable with a fabulous living area and impressive log burner, a large kitchen equipped with everything you can think of and an en suite bathroom with every bedroom. Even right at the end of the season the snow in resort was remarkably good and the pistes incredibly well groomed. Our 3 children loved ski school and we enjoyed the variety of skiing the resort has to offer. After a long day's skiing, we all enjoyed a soak in the hot tub and the delicious food our chalet girl provided for us! The resort has some great restaurants if you want to eat out however the chalet is the perfect place to relax with music, films, tv and a great kids snug/play area. Our last day included an Easter Egg hunt held in the resort for all the children before a quick and easy drive back to the airport. A great family holiday and a chalet we would certainly recommend and re-book!!
a superb chalet
we had a brilliant stay at Chalet des Cimes. its a superb chalet for a family ski trip with loads of space, lots of beautiful traditional wooden beams and features plus every modern convenience. The "TV den" above the kitchen is great for kids. All bedrooms and bathrooms great. The views from this chalet down the valley are to die for and you can sit in the hot tub with a drink and soak it all in. What many perhaps dont appreciate is the location...Ste Foy a 5 mins drive but equally it takes only 20 mins to get to Val or Tignes. Overall highly recommended
We had an amazing weeks skiing holiday at this chalet in Feb 2014. The chalet is really welcoming, particularly the hot tub after a day on the slopes. The bedrooms are really comfortable and clean, with more than enough space for all your gear and each have their own small ensuite bathrooms. There is ample space around the chalet for two families to spread out and not feel on top of one another and plenty of storage space. Underfloor heating is also a bonus.
The lounge and dining room are really cosy and the woodburner fire really adds to the whole atmosphere. The kids snug was great fun for our boys aged 8 and 10. Kitchen is incredibly well equipped, however there some good are restaurants in Ste Foy ski station itself if you don't fancy cooking.
Chalet location is a good 15 minute walk to the ski station itself, so I would recommend either catching the bus at the end of the road (2 mins from chalet) or driving up to the resort (parking was always available, right in the centre and free!). However it is a fun stroll up to the resort in the evening if you fancy a drink or dinner ( I would reserve dinner places in advance during peak weeks if you want a specific restaurant).
You can ski off piste from the resort right back to the chalet but we were not brave enough to try that one!
The owners Mindy and Nick are very helpful in answering any questions you may have. They also provide a detailed welcome pack regarding the chalet, transport, restaurants/bars, shops etc as well as how everything works in the chalet.
If you are looking for an authentic chalet, near to a resort but in a peaceful area ( there are only 4 chalets in the hamlet and you never see another soul), this is definatly one to consider.
Great New Year!
Just returned from great, great week in Ste Foy. Chalet is ideal for a large group. Big living/dining space for all and large exceptionally well equipped kitchen means there's room for 10+ to chill, dine, party, etc. without getting in each others way. Beds and bathrooms all very well set up and are very comfortable and warm. Hot-tub tremendous after hard day on the hill. Views down the valley from the chalet just stunning - as they are from the pistes and chairs too.
Ski bus and access to main lift station, shops and bars is pretty easy and option to ski back to door over gentle powder field.
Skiing in Ste Foy has to be experienced to be understood. Don't be put off by the seemingly limited number of lifts, pistes and restaurants. An afternoon with a guide will open your eyes to the great and so accessible off piste scope. All the mountain restaurants have great food and even at New Year, yes New Year, the lift queses were short to on-existent.
We had one day out in Les Arcs (completely rammed!) and had intended to go to Tignes, but as we heard similar reports of 20 min plus chair queues stayed put.
Finally Nick and Mindy were really helpful and easy to deal with - nothing too much trouble. Will definitely try and get back next year!
