About Dr David Wilkinson
Hello we live in Bursledon, near the beautiful Hamble River and are mad about sailing, skiing and triathlon. We had always dreamed of owning our very own ski apartment - to ski in the winter and train for triathlon and mountain biking in the summer months. We saw this apartment and fell in love with it instantly. The views are absolutely breathtaking and the apartment is beautiful with wooden floors and open plan design which is rustic yet modern. Our children skied from the age of three and we love family holidays in resort. It is very family friendly with an excellent ski school. The apartment is located in the village of Les Collons which has a tourist information centre, village shops, bakery, pub, post office and restaurants. Our apartment is within 5 minutes walking distance of the Trabanta Ski lift. Otherwise, you can catch the ski bus right outside our apartment to the ski lift or to Thyon 1850.

A relaxing holiday in Valais
We have just returned from a fabulous holiday at Les Collons. The flat was very comfortable and we enjoyed the facilities that the house had to offer. ..the pool and table tennis. Les Melezes in Les Collons is a perfect setting for a serene mountain holiday. We highly recommend a stay at this appartment. In addition the owner was so friendly and helpful and always responded promptly to my emails.

Spacious penthouse apartment convenient for lifts
I can recommend this apartment for families looking for a spacious and convenient access to the four valleys. The penthouse apartment is clad in wood with amazing views from the balcony and picture windows up the val d'Herans to the Matterhorn and is bigger than many chalets. The apartment has a big living area and an open plan well equipped kitchen making self catering easy and fun. The local supermarket although not cheap is well stocked with fresh meat, vegetables etc.. and excellent local cheese. It would be ideal for two families looking to ski the four valleys. The nearest lift is 5-10 mins walk but it is possible to drive to Thyon and park next to the slopes if you have young children. The local skiing is excellent but it does take about one hour to reach Siviez the main access to the signature runs at Tortin and the Col Gentianes. There is cable television but with a limited selection of English channels it's worth bringing a few DVDs. The block has the added benefit of an indoor swimming pool, and a games room. There are three bedrooms and a good quality double sofa bed on the Mezzanine where I slept very comfortably. The apartment is really quiet, we did not hear the neighbours in the week we stayed. All in all, I can recommend this apartment as a great base from which to explore the four valleys.

We have recently purchased unlimited Swisscom WiFi for the apartment.
Regarding food shopping we would recommend our visitors shop at the Lidl (located half hour away at the foot of the valley) for better value food. We also pre-order our shopping for the day we arrive via Coop Switzerland online store and if you miss the delivery, the Tourist office just oppoaite our apartment will keep it safe for you until you can collect it. The shops in Les Collons are expensive but we only use them to stock up on essentials such as milk and fresh bread.

Die Wohnung ist gut gelegen, GratisSkibus direkt beim Haus! Geräumige, tolle Wohnung, super Polstergruppe, grandiose Aussicht, 2Balkone, warmes Hallenbad im Haus! Und ein Garagenplatz zur Verfügung. Genügend Geschirr vorhanden! 2Badezimmer sind toll für eine grössere Gruppe! Wir waren als Familie dort, 9 erwachsene Personen, es war ganz toll vom Platzangebot her! Auch am Esstisch war genügend Platz vorhanden um gemütlich zusammen zu essen und zu spielen. Eine Top-Wohnung! Wir waren rundum glücklich dort!

A conseiller pour un séjour de 6 à 8 personnes. Très belle vue, commerces à proximité. Calme. 16km de route depuis la vallée mais c'est le prix à payer pour un site de qualité. Piscine intérieure chauffée.

Hiking, road biking, mountaineering, triathlon training, trekking, high altitude fitness running or biking and of course sight seeing.
Lake Geneva offers fantastic beaches within 1.5 hours drive. Swimming is available in outdoor pools in Sion and Sierre within a 30minute drive. There are thermal baths at Ovronnaz and Leukerbad accessible within a 45 minute drive.
Nearest main airport is Geneva although during the winter some flights are to Sion which is only 20 minutes away. Travel time Geneva to Les Collons is just under 2hrs. Travel time by car from Calais is approximately 10hrs. Geneva airport to Sion by train 2hrs and trains run every 20 minutes from the airport terminal.
Half an hour by car to Sion which is a beautiful Swiss town with vineyards, stunning restaurants and center of the valley. There is an abundance of shopping for all tastes. Les Collons is situated 20km from the historic town of Sion and 5 minutes from the traditional Swiss village of Heremence. Thyon is a 5 minute drive and includes an indoor swimming pool. Tourist tax is payable locally at the tourist office opposite the Les Melezes apartments and is chf 1.80 per day per person. Changeover Day: Saturday is changeover day. Depart apartment by 10am. Arrive apartment anytime after 3pm on start of holiday. Please do ask if you need to leave later if your flights are later. Notes on prices: Stays of less than a week will be priced on request if you call or email owners. These will incur a cleaning cost of chf 100 minimum and linen fee of chf 22.00 per person for the short stay. If you would like any special request on your arrival of your holiday, please do let us know in advance and we will try our best to arrange it for a small fee.
