HERSTON COTTAGE - A GREAT FIND!

  • 5 of 5

A very comfortable two week stay in this lovely, homely, old-worldy cottage. Immaculately clean, "Herston Cottage" is well equipped and had everything I needed; plenty of cupboard space in the kitchen, comfortable lounge, a good supply of DVDs, books, tourist information/maps to help plan the holiday and a very helpful and obliging owner right next door. The paved/part gravelled garden is well maintained and it was very pleasant to sit out in the sunshine reading. Always a good indication of a cottage is the visitors book and I noted several visitors return every year and have done for a very long time. Although staying in this cottage during March, there are plenty of efficient heaters and electric blankets on the beds so kept very snug and warm. Only a few minutes away to the coastal path, The Mill (great food, excellent service) and The Ship. A little further to the Aberfelin Cove which is great for dogs. Also close to the "main drag" - A487 - which is the quickest way to St David's or to Fishguard, Newport, Cardigan and beyond or to Haverfordwest for more supermarket choice. "Herston Cottage" is ideally located, in the very quiet and peaceful village of Trefin. Hope to return for another therapeutic stay! Thanks Adrian!

Our stay in Jan

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I had a great stay here at the end of Jan, we stayed for three nights. We were met By Adrian who was very friendly and he showed us around the property, he even said that because there were no bookings immediately after us we could stay a couple more nights free of charge, unfortunately we couldn't take him up on the his generous offer.

The cottage was as described and I concur with previous reviews that it was a comfortable, cosy cottage from a bygone era, it was fully functional and had everything needed for a short or long stay. It is fair to say it is dated but if it was fully modernised you would expect to pay at least twice the price as per other cottages in the area and not the £30 per night which I did pay.

The cottage is in a great location with easy access to the coastal path and St Davids. It was a bonus to find a real pub in the village 2 mins walk from the cottage.

We would definately return.
