Warm and well equipped for a large crowd.
Rustic and charming property which easily absorbed a crowd with tranquil and restful atmosphere.
Thank you for your lovely note. We were delighted to welcome you and are glad you enjoyed a peaceful break in our rural retreat.
Exceeded our expectations…
We took The Hymns for a family celebration – four couples, one single adult, 5 kids/teenagers and a dog and it was perfect.
Th e property is extremely comfortable, offers everything that one could ask for (kitchen utensils’ etc) and with some many reception rooms and the massive covered games area we were not tripping over each other.
We FaceTimed my sister-in-law while at Hymns whos immediate reaction was ‘I want to book that for my 60th’!!!!
Well done Elizabeth….
Good morning - thank you for your very kind note - we are thrilled you enjoyed your stay and would be delighted to welcome your sister-in-law for her 60th! All the very best & thank you for having come to stay
Character, charm and surround sound!
A beautiful stay for my partners 30th birthday celebrations. We had snow for the weekend too which was magical. The house is well laid out and full of interesting items which we enjoyed! The beds are super comfy and the AGA and log fire kept us very cosy, we even made use of the games barn for some table tennis! Excellent cooking and washing facilities with the kitchen and pantry. We enjoyed using the dining room for breakfast! It was glorious!!! Love the fact it's eco friendly too! Thank you Elsa!
Dear Emma, Thank you for your lovely note, and we are so glad you all enjoyed celebrating a 30th birthday party together. The surround sound is lovely to enjoy from room to room, and so discrete that if you want an old fashioned 16th century-like break you can do so without even knowing its there too! The views to the hills in snow are great - we're so glad you had the opportunity to enjoy that whilst snug in front of the fires. Wishing your partner a happy 30th year, with all good wishes from all of us at The Hymns
Third visit to the Hymns
This was our third family visit to the Hymns. The house itself is welcoming and great for a family reunion with its large dining room and comfortable sitting room. The sofas are really comfy and there is a lovely big fire which is great to sit in front of after a wet walk! The Aga in the kitchen also makes it really cosy and warm. It is set in the most wonderful countryside and we went for lots of walks straight from the house which was perfect. We would thoroughly recommend it.
Thank you for your lovely note - we are so glad that you enjoyed your time at the Hymns again. We were delighted to welcome you. October is a lovely time for walking holidays in the area. As it is any time! In September, there is the nearby annual Kington Walking Festival where guided walks are given by locals around the beautiful area - hills, valleys and rivers - it is very much worth co-inciding a stay with that too - the Festival is open to all. And as you say, delightful to return to a good fire in the wood burning stove and or the kitchen. We are so glad you enjoyed the house, the farmstead, the area and your stay together and we are thrilled that you chose to return to stay with us again (and again!)
Perfect escape in countryside
The house is as described it is set on its own with lovely views. There is a great kitchen which is perfect for getting together over breakfast in and then a huge dinning and sitting room. The house is done up in old furnishings that suit the style of the house. Be prepared to duck your head getting into some of the spaces but it all adds to the charm of the place.
Gorgeous and peaceful
The process and communication could not have been simpler. We selected this property due to its central location and it was beautiful. We asked for the Aga to be on for our arrival and this was an added bonus!
We were a group of 12 people 26-33years and we loved it! Spacious, clean and homely. Recommend without hesitation.
