Quinta do Pica-Pau is a stunning new build house situated among the natural almond groves in a part of the Algarve that still remains largely unspoilt by tourism. Our villa is built on the site of an old farm house in the centre of the stunning Ria Formosa wildlife conservation area. An easy 15 minute drive from Airport, 15 minutes from Faro and just a 5 minute drive from the bustling town of Olhao with its daily fish and vegetable market. The villa provides vast, luxurious, ultra modern accommodation on one level with a design that fills with natural light. The full width south facing concertina glass doors open fully leading seamlessly directly onto the terrace to enjoy stunning, uninterrupted views through the almond orchards to the sea. One button activates electronic security shutters throughout the property allowing complete security and peace of mind when out. A sail shaded outdoor eating area fringes the impressive 16x5 meter infinity edged solar heated pool with its integrated seating area for those wishing to cool off and relax while others enjoy lengths. Genuinely massive open plan living area with indoor dining for ten and three huge sofas facing towards the sea. Stylish contemporary furniture and fittings. The very latest B&O sound system. Four spacious double bedrooms all en-suite and with direct access to an individual terrace each with picturesque views. The large roof terrace with comfortable sofa seating enjoys 360 degree uninterrupted panoramic views - a perfect place to enjoy evening drinks. The basement provides a large cinema room with football table, music system and two huge leather sofas. Wi-fi included. The modern build is designed to keep naturally cool in summer and very cosy and warm in the winter months with a huge fire place and heating for added warmth.

As soon as we came on our first holiday to this part of the Algarve in 1999 we knew that this is where we would build our dream villa. In 2004 we bought the 15 000 m2 plot of land and started planning.

Perfect villa; an instantly relaxing place to stay

We would definitely recommend this villa and would love to stay here again! Every wish has been thought of here and the villa is instantly relaxing because of this. The location is very quiet but there are lots of lovely places to visit - from Olhao, we got the boat to Farol Island; Faro beach, Faro old town and Estoi are all beautiful (do visit the gift shop opposite the church in Estoi). A truly relaxing place to stay. Actually better than described and pictured (and it's not often that you can say that). Excellent communication through booking etc. Thank you!

we enjoyed a fantastic 2 weeks here at this contemporary, modern villa which is surrounded by olive groves but is not too remote - 10 minute drive into Olhao with all of its wonderful restaurants and amazing fish market. the villa has a great pool and all mod cons - the cinema room was used on several occasions as well. the set up of the villa with its folding door system makes you feel outside even when you are enjoying the comfortable sofas indoors.

Stunning country villa

This villa is absolutely fantastic. Situated amongst orchards in the countryside , but not too remote. You do need a car , but only a 10-15 minute drive into Olhao which is full of good restaurants and a great daily fish market.

The villa itself is very modern and contemporary - fitted out beautifully with one wall installed with clever folding doors which gives you the feeling of being outside even when indoors.

Fresh coffee machine , great cinema room and very large pool combine to appeal to all ages and tastes.We enjoyed the best holiday we have had in Europe and have already booked a return visit.

Booking forms will then be sent and the reservation held whilst awaiting the deposit by post.
Deposit of 50% required at time of booking with the balance due 12 weeks before holiday.
Damages deposit of £500 due 12 weeks prior to holiday. This will be refunded 2 weeks after date of departure.

Changeover Day:
Saturday usually but negotiable depending on other bookings.
