Perfect setting for enjoying the region
A really wonderful place to stay - equipped to a high standard and with every comfort. The owners are extremely helpful. It’s a short walk to Issigeac (10 minutes) but on the edge of unspoilt farmland. Surrounded by trees the house feels very private without being isolated. The pool is lovely and very well maintained. We could not fault this property and enjoyed a fabulous week there - we’d love to return another year. Thank you Nick and Julia!

A lovely property
We really enjoyed our stay in Issigeac. The house is in a great location and being able to walk into the village to enjoy the markets and various fetes and events is excellent. The pool and outside area is lovely and the house is well-equipped. The sofas and inside table were comfortable on a few of the cooler days. We would stay again definitely. Communication with the owners was very good. Only a few niggles: although clear from the reviews that other families with small children had stayed, we didn’t feel the stairs were safe for a 18mth-3 yr old, both the gaps on the upper stairs and the large gap between the stairs and the floor upstairs: there are stair gates though so you can control access.

Gorgeous rural setting a short walk from lovely town
A lovely house we have stayed in before. This time we hosted a family get together for 80th birthday celebrations. Clean, well equipped, house that was cool in the hot weather.

We are a family of four from Hampshire. We have had many happy holidays in Issigeac and the surrounding area and when the opportunity arose to buy an old stone farmhouse on the edge of the town we couldn't resist it!

Why they chose this property

Issigeac is a beautiful place with a fascinating history. It has long been a family favourite. The town is well-served with restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. Several of the restaurants are highly rated on Tripadvisor and attract visitors from miles around. We love the gentle rolling countryside in this part of France and the picturesque old houses nestled in the vineyards and the sunflowers. Issigeac is just 10 miles from Bergerac Airport and a great base for touring in the Aquitaine Region.

What makes this property unique

Our house is perfectly located just a short walk from the centre of Issigeac and yet in a secluded position on the edge of the countryside. The house is tucked away down a country lane and so there is no traffic. We love being able to stroll into the town and to leave the car behind. There are also some lovely walks from our doorstep. Our house and the village of Issigeac were featured on the BBC Programme "Escape to the Continent" (Series 2:2 Dordogne).
