We live in Newcastle, have been married for 39 years and have two daughters and a granddaughter. After spending a lifetime of family holidays in the Lake District with the girls, Larchwood was the perfect place to continue this tradition with our ever growing family and friends.

Why Beatrice Brindley chose Penrith
We have always loved the Lake District and Larchwood provided access to all that it has to offer, yet its unique location gave us our own private retreat and the opportunity to create a home from home with family and friends in one of the most beautiful places in world.

Awesome lodge and surroundings. Definitely true luxury
What a fabulous time away we have just had. We were blown away with the standard of the accommodation, the attention to detail and high quality of everything in the lodge. There were 4 of us – mum, aunt and daughters aged between 50 and 70 and we could not have asked for a more perfect, extremely comfortable holiday. Communication from the owners was exemplary and very helpful and the surrounding scenery was beautiful. (Sorry my sister used up all the nuts feeding the red squirrels every 5 minutes!) We will definitely return. One of the absolute best places we have ever stayed in. Definitely true luxury. Thank you for having us.
Tracey and her family were a pleasure to have as guests. They treated the lodge like their home and left it spotless. We look forward to them returning.
Amazing lodge with every conceivable item provided.
Thank you John for your kind words. We are pleased you and your family enjoyed their stay.
Beautiful lodge: bright, clean and spacious
The lodge is in splendid shape: very clean, well kept up and very comfortable. It is in a delightful, quiet location where you can watch red squirrels and pheasants right out of your window. The large living room has plenty of space to stretch out, while the kitchen/dining area has a large table, and plenty of countertop space that has proved very convenient. The bedrooms are all very comfortably sized with lots of closet space. It was so pleasant to come back to such a beautiful house after long day of exploring the Lakes region. The communication with owners was superb: they were responsive, friendly and efficient.
Thank you for your kind words
Beautiful lodge, beautiful location
What a beautiful place to stay, we really couldn't fault it. Inside, the lodge is very welcoming and is finished to the highest standard. There is everything you could possibly need for your stay (and also complimentary wine, beer, milk and biscuits on arrival!). Outside, the lodge is situated on a small, secluded site. It has a lovely decking area to the side and a wooded area to the rear which is home to a family of red squirrels who visit to feed and provided myself and my family with a lot of entertainment. Having never visited the Lake District before, Larchwood was an excellent base from which to explore the local towns, countryside and visitor attractions. We had a wonderful holiday and came away having made some lovely memories of the Lake District.
Excellent thank you for your kind review. We would love to welcome you back soon.
Very luxurious and well equipped. Wildlife provides extra entertainment.
Comfort in an idyllic spot
Extremely comfortable and warm accommodation, for which we were grateful given the icy weather. We didn't need to leave the lodge as it was like having a surround screen of wildlife. Every glance through the well-positioned windows gave views of woodpeckers, jays, nuthatches, tree creepers and other birds, red squirrels, pheasants, rabbits, etc and impressive scenery. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay.
We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you back soon
