The beautiful city of Malaga with the cathedral, Picasso museum, famous tapas bars and new port are only a short drive. The smaller fishing village of El Palo where you can enjoy eating catch of the day is close to Malaga. Inland many of the authentic white villages are a short drive where you can enjoy the tranquil pace of life, watching the local goat herders, collection of almonds and olives, walk through Moorish designed villages like Comares and sit in the local square and enjoy a cool glass of vino!

About Angela

My husband and I moved to this beautiful region 16 years are still singing its praises! Our children were born here and have totally embraced the Spanish way of life and language. We endured many years of toil, mañana syndrome, heat, frustration, situations lost in heard it all in the novels! We now run our own exclusive property rental business here in this spectacular region. We have a selection of beautiful properties to suit most peoples' requirements, with private pools, gardens and fabulous views. It was worth it, sometimes we even squeeze a little time to enjoy the sunshine, relaxing way of life and fabulous regional vino! Notes on accommodation: Elegant and well furbished villa with distant sea views. Both bedrooms have full ensuite bathrooms Attractive arched pool area with dip pool , sunbathing terraces and fabulous views. Located on the edge of a National Park with fabulous walks, mountain bike tracks and spectacular scenery. Old city of Malaga only 15kms, with magnificent cathedral, Picasso museum, Gibalfaro castle, amphitheatre and new marina with restaurants and shops. Ideal location also for countryside and nature Cot and high chair free of charge, please reserve if required Pool towels provided Outside: The dip pool is circular and has a step leading down into it. It is totally private and surrounded by a spectacular arched patio area with shade, lush shrubs and flowers, sunbeds and a small terrace where the distant sea views can be enjoyed. There is an outside brick built BBQ and a gas BBQ available for July and August when wood ones are not permitted. The large sun terrace directly outside the front of the property has a lovely wooden table, chairs and a sun canopy, an ideal location to enjoy a relaxing evening meal n the privacy of your own gardens. The pool is open from mid May to October and is not heated. Utility Room: Washing machine and storage. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Fresh linen and towels are provided for guests newly arriving. Replaced on a weekly basis for clients staying longer than a week. A cleaning service can be provided on request Cleaning liquids , mop and bucket and brush and dustpan provided. Other: Central hall with stairway to lounge,inside dining area for 4 persons.

Early Spring break

Property was clean and comfortable. Would seriously recommend using AA Route Planner for directions from Malaga airport.

However - 1) No information available with respect to any emergency contact numbers (doctors etc); 2) No information/directions for nearest shopping facilities; 3) No information/instructions for use of any equipment; 4) No up to date information regarding the area; 5)Washing machine - where is it ?; 6) No toilet rolls supplied !!!!!!; 7) No response from Angela when contacted by text whilst at the villa.

Please also note that this is the first negative review we have given in over 30 years of self catering holidays in Europe.

Traumhafte Finca in traumhafter Lage

Vorab möchte ich auf die schlechten Bewertungen der Vormieter eingehen. Der Weg zur Finca ist für Deutsche wirklich abenteuerlich, jedoch sind die anderen Zufahrten zu den Fincas genauso od. schlimmer. Zudem kann die Vermieterin nichts für den Zustand spanischer Straßen. Ein Geländewagen oder SUV als Mietwagen ist jedenfalls zu empfehlen.

Die Vermieterin hat auf unsere Anfragen schnell geantwortet und, wie von den Kritikern bemerkt, auf Englisch. Dies ist aber bei der Buchung so angegeben, man weiß es also vorab. Mit meinem schlechten Englisch habe ich die Beschreibung verstanden und sie war sehr genau.

Nun zum Haus: so beschwerlich der letzte Weg, so kurvenreich die Straße, so herrlich und atemberaubend ist der Blick. Wer auf dieser Terrasse unter blauem Himmel frühstücken kann und dabei diesen Anblick genießen darf, der weiß, dass er alles richtig gemacht hat. Wir haben uns vom ersten Augenblick an wohl gefühlt und alles, was man braucht, ist vorhanden (zwar nicht erster Klasse aber da) z.B. Kaffeemaschine, Herd, Backofen, Mikrowelle, Fön, Bügelbrett und Bügeleisen und auch eine Waschmaschine. Dafür liegt ein separater Schlüssel auf dem Sekretär, was nahe legt, dass die Maschine nicht im Wohnbereich ist. Wir haben sie schnell entdeckt, im Bereich des Pools. Dort ist unter der Terrasse eine Tür zum Waschraum. Wir haben sie nicht gebraucht, wir haben einfach Urlaub gemacht. Es ist so herrlich ruhig, daß man, wenn man will, bis Mittag schlafen kann. Die Matratze ist sehr gut, ich hatte keinerlei Rückenschmerzen in der Nacht (was sonst in fremden Betten häufig vorkommt). Auch sind viele schöne CD`s im Regal (Jazz, Klassik, Rock etc.) die wir rauf und runter gehört haben und abends kann man es sich vor dem Kamin wunderbar gemütlich machen. Ausreichend Holz ist vorhanden.

Wir haben uns so wohl gefühlt, schon am ersten Tag war der Alltag vergessen. Abends bei lauem Wind auf der Terrasse sitzen mit diesem Ausblick...ein Glas Wein dazu und Musik im Ohr- einfach perfekt!

Grillen kann man auch, es gibt einen Grillkamin & einen Gasgrill. Uns hat es gefreut: ein Steak vom Iberico Schwein frisch vom Grill ist ja kaum zu toppen.

Eine große Kühl/Gefrierkombi ist ebenfalls vorhanden mit ausreichend Platz für den gesamten Urlaubseinkauf.

Kurzum, es ist alles da für einen perfekten Urlaub, sogar ein Delikatessenkorb als Gruß von der Vermieterin!

Der Schlüssel lag unkompliziert unter der Matte u. wir konnten bereits ab 11 Uhr in das Haus. So geht Urlaub ! Danke.

The house has everything you need!

Price vs quality is good. The house has everything you need, the kitchen equipment is nice. There is some good wifi (It isn’t free). And the view is spectacular! There is a nice living with tv and fireplace. And the balcony is lovely when the sun is going behind the mountains. However, there are some things to improve. When we arrived, the refrigerator was off. Thats not that handy because we came with a lot of groceries. And there was no dishwashing brush or dishcloth. We bought our own.

But above all: in the bathroom there is some really bad mold that really should be cleaned! None the less, we enjoyed our stay!

Schade!

Das Haus ist schön, die Zimmer sind gross und geschmackvoll eingerichtet,die Aussicht grossartig. Aber: schon vor Reiseantritt hatten wir Probleme Auskünfte zu erhalten, viele Mails blieben unbeantwortet, das lag vielleicht an Abritel. Die Hinweise zur Anfahrt waren leider in Englisch, sodass die Spanier, die wir nach dem Weg fragen wollten, damit auch nichts anfangen konnten. Die Zufahrt zum Haus: der Einstieg ist schlecht zu finden, es geht sehr steil abwärts, der Weg ist in einem Zustand, der für tiefer liegende Autos eine Katastrophe ist. Das letzte Stück ist ein unbefestigter, unbeleuchteter Weg, den wir nur gefahren sind, weil wir das Haus am Ende gesehen haben. (Also unbedingt bei Tageslicht ankommen!) Und dort angekommen lag der Schlüssel wie angekündigt unter der Matte. Es hat sich 10 Tage niemand blicken lassen, es gab keine Gebrauchsanweisungen für: Herd (neue Platte), Internetanschluss (nach einigen mühsamen Telephonaten hat's dann doch geklappt), Fernsehen (war die ganze Zeit nicht möglich), Waschmaschine (wo ist die?). Den Sicherungskasten haben wir dann gefunden, ab und zu war der Strom weg. Schade!

The villa is within walking distance of a local bar /restaurant. An exclusive 5 star hotel is also very close. There are 2/3 other local bar/restaurants within a 5 minute drive. Colmenar village which is the capital of the Montes de Malaga are a has a very good selection of shops, restaurants, tapas bars, banks, chemist, wi fi bars, butchers, bakeries, Honey museum, small supermarkets and a weekly fruit and veg market.

Malaga centre is only 20 minutes and there are plenty of large hypermarkets such as Carrefor and Eroski in the Malaga area

The villa is located in the beautiful Montes de Malaga area, a Natural park with extensive pine forests rising up from the coast. There are numerous designated walks in the cool forests, a museum and beautiful views. Small Spanish whitewashed vllages are dotted around offering cooling drinks and great selections of regional tapas and delicacies. Further inland it is possible to visit lakes, villages perched on cliffsides, craft markets, wolf parks, animal sanctuaries, walking and driving routes through this lovely region of the Axarquia. Along the coast there are water parks, shopping centres, multi complex cinemas, marinas, golf courses, crocodile park, Fuengirola zoo, Selwo wildlife park, extensive beaches with boat rides, banana ride pedalos, quad bikes , horse riding etc. Ronda, Granada, Cordoba and Antequera are al a comfortable day trip from the property. The villa has a comprehensive guide to the area and we are always able to help or advise further.
