Casa do Alvorada is a detached 2-level villa with large pool, located easily accessible in the hills of Goldra. It was bought in 2012 by the current owners as family holiday home after consecutive 15 years of villa renting in this area. Its good size garden is fully fenced and enclosed by hedges and natural stone walls. Cots and high-chairs are available if required.........................

Why Dirk von Wahl chose Loulé

After 15 consecutive years of summer holidays in the lovely Central Algarve we decided that it is time to have a more permanent location in Portugal that will also allow usage as a long-term home upon retirement.

What makes this villa unique

Living in Shanghai with 24 million other people means that there is never silence or privacy.

So our primary goal was to find a location that is private yet has easy and quick access to restaurants, beaches, shops and other leisure and sightseeing facilities.

Great villa Great location

We have been renting villas in the Santa Barbara De Nexe/Loule area for 22 years and without doubt this is the best villa we have stayed in on every level. The facilities are first class and much better than the usual rental standard we have had in the past - the quality of furnishings inside and out, the kitchen and facilities and all the available amenities are all first class,

We are not beach people so the extensive gardens and fabulous pool are all we needed, but the villa location means that you are in easy reach of the beaches in Faro, Vale Do Lobo and so on should you need them. I must warn you the views here are magnificent. if anything the photos on the website do not do the property full justice, so the beaches lost out for us,

All the web site listings and property descriptions are spot on and the property was clean and very well maintained. Vic who looks after the property for the owners is first class, really helpful and on hand in our first few days.

There are some fantastic restaurants in this area, you must try La Piazza in the centre of Santa Barbara De Nexe run by Angelo and his family, we have been eating here since they bought it in 2001 and way before that with previous owners. Also try the local run restaurants in Loule - Leonel and O Manels. whilst nearer to the villa you have Mac Jetes, Malice and the fabulous Flor De Ameixa on the road to Estoi. Value for money is just superb.

All our dealings with the owners Regina and Dirk has been easy, they have been fantastic from the first contact..

Finally as you might guess I would recommend the villa highly, you will have a great time, so much so we have just booked it for the same time next year. I guess say no more.

Excellent Stay

We booked this villa for the second year running and once again it was a pleasurable stay, we hope to return. It is located on a peaceful and quiet area yet close to everything you need, a hidden paradise. House favorites include the pool area, barbecue/dinning table and upstairs terrace and its magnificent views. All in all, perfect for relaxing in comfort.

Nous sommes venus en vacances dans cet endroit de rêves perché en haut d'une colline l'été dernier a 2 couples et 6 enfants... nous avons étés très bien reçus par la personne qui gère la maison sur place; Ce Monsieur vient tout les 2 jours pour l'entretien de la piscine.

La maison est très spacieuse et elle a beaucoup de charme... l'intérieur était très propre et très bien équipé; La chambre de l'étage possède sa salle de bains privative... L'extérieur est juste magique... La végétation est superbe, la piscine au sel est fantastique et la vue est juste a couper le souffle!!! plusieurs terrasses avec salon de jardin et transats sont a votre disposition, barbecue... Petite surprise... une terrasse perchée sur la maison domine tout loulé... le soir c'est du pur bonheur. Propriétaires a l'écoute et très gentils malgré le décalage horaire...

Voiture conseillé pour les visites et excursions... sinon toutes les commodités sont très accessibles en voiture... supermarché continente a 5 min.

Nous gardons tous un souvenirs merveilleux de cette maison... A bientôt

Booking Notes:
We require a damage deposit of Eur300 payable with the final balance, which will be refunded within 7 days of the end of the holiday subject to there not being any damage beyond normal wear and tear.

Changeover Day:
Saturday is preferred but other days can be negotiated if availability permits. Entry on the arrival day is 3 pm and the villa should be vacated by 10 am on the departure day although we will try to be flexible to our guests' requests where possible.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week in Euro and include the use of internet and sat TV/MEO.
Cleaner's Fee: 50 EUR

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
