A wonderful lodge, we will book again soon!

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a fantastic 3 night stay. The location and quality of the lodge was just perfect. The hot tub, and the views from it just made our stay even better. The gated outside area also meant our dog was safe to be outside with us at all times.

We visited the local pub on site, and also went Pony Trecking. It was great to have such amenities on site.

There are also another two pubs within walking distance, The Mortal Man served amazing quality food and had a huge selection of beers/ciders.

We didn’t have any issues with the lodge or it’s facilities. The only thing that could be useful would be a couple more wine and fizz glasses.

We hope to book again soon.

Overall a nice place to stay while exploring the lakes but there were a few problems.

What was good:

The location, comfortable beds, lots of cooking equipment, nice furniture, plenty of room for six people, space for two cars.

What was bad:

No soap was supplied in either of the bathrooms, the lodge was not properly cleaned (used dog toys under sofa, old lighter under sofa cushions), the Hot Tub can only be used until 10pm (I believe this is due to the park rules however it should be in the lodge's description), one of the front wooden steps is a little broken and could be dangerous when wet, the shower head holder was not properly screwed to the wall so kept falling off.

What was really bad:

The hot tub was only at 34 degrees when we arrived and cooled down over the week, by the end of the week it had dropped to 31 degrees which was simply too cold to sit in for more than a few minutes. This was despite the cover being on whenever it was not in use and the target temperature being set to 38 degrees.

The WiFi was simply unusable - the Wifi signal was far too weak to be picked up by Phones - I did manage to briefly connect on a laptop however the speed was less than 0.5 Mbps meaning it took around 10 minutes to load just the BBC website and the connection dropped every few minutes (I tried several times during the week).

Limefitt lodge is very tastefully furnished and the jacuzzi is ideal at the end of the day.

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely stay at Limefitt, we were there for our son's wedding at The Inn On The Lake. The views are lovely and relaxing. The lodge is immaculate. We didn't have to go off site to eat as the bar and restaurant is just a stroll from the lodge. The added bonus was the jacuzzi which is very private. Thank you Tony for your helpful information.

Fantastic stay

  • 4 of 5

We have just returned from 3 nights in this lodge and we had a fantastic time. The lodge is perfectly located, just 10-15 minute drive from all the main towns The site is lovely and very well kept with a lovely dog friendly pub on site.

The lodge itself is lovely. It is a little tired around the edges and could do with a little updating but it in no way affects your stay. It had everything we needed, plenty of space and the hot tub was fab, we spent a lot of time in there. The decking was completely dog proof so the dogs were able to safely wander around out there when we were in the hot tub. It was great value for money and we will definitely he returning

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for your positive comments following your recent stay. I was pleased to hear you enjoyed the lodge, its beautiful location and made good use of the hot tub. The Haybarn pub is just a short stroll and as you say serves good food and is pet friendly. We are constantly updating and improving our 3 lodges so I'm sorry if you found the lodge a little tired. The lodges are very popular and in constance use but we recently fitted a new wooden floor, the dining table was replaced only a few weeks ago and the lounge and hallway was decorated just 3 weeks ago. Other improvements are planned for the near future. I'm pleased you found the lodge good value and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Wonderful Place

  • 5 of 5

The lodge was clean, and very spacious. Had good communication with the owner and everything was as described. The hot tub was fantastic, it even snowed whist we were sat in it looking up at the hills around that were tipped with snow. The lake district is a beautiful place and this lodge is situated on a site that gives easy access to nearby towns, villages and walks.

The on site pub does good food although when busy there can be over an hour wait for food.

The lodge itself, although not the most up to date lodge; it is showing slight signs of wear in places.....This did not in any way stop us from enjoying our stay and would definately book again as the four days we had was never enough time to vist everywhere we wanted to go.

I would reccommend this lodge to freinds or family wishing to stay in the lake district.

Thanks for a wonderful holiday.

Lovely log cabin

  • 5 of 5

Great cabin loved the area and the walks with the dog and kids and lucky to have a snow day there as well as the hot tub while it's cold out side and the only let down is the DVD player was faulty (8 year old girl not happy ) which was reported to the contact that was left to us but nothing was done

But overall the trip was great

Owner's Response: Thanks for taking the time to write a review we really do appreciate the feedback. Very pleased to hear you enjoyed the lodge, the hot tub, the great walks and you had a lovely snowy day to add to the fun. I must apologise about the DVD player I've spoken to my maintenance man James and for some reason he didn't receive your message. He said he has a spare one at home and would have brought it straight round, any faulty items are always replaced immediately so please apologise to your daughter ! Thanks again and hope to welcome you back soon.
