Dolphin Rock offers spacious and luxurious accommodation for up to 9 + cot. There is a private beach (residents only) a short walk from the house. The beautiful historic harbour of Charlestown is also just down the road from Dolphin Rock where you can enjoy a cocktail or lunch/cream tea/dinner/live music in The Boathouse. The Eden Project is a 10min drive and St Austell is within a 5min drive and offers supermarkets, cinema and shopping centre. On the ground floor, there is a large sitting room, dining room & fully-equipped kitchen with dining area. The sitting room & kitchen/diner both lead out to a beautiful garden with raised decked area- perfect for summer evenings. Free wifi and Sky tv with family package. There is also a more formal dining room and wc. The 1st floor offers 2 large double bedrooms both with en suites (one with shower, the other with bath/shower) & also a small 3rd bedroom with a single bed. On the 2nd floor, there are 2 further double bedrooms, one also with a cot-bed. There is also a 3rd bathroom (with bath) on the 2nd floor.

Dolphin Rock offers off-street parking for up to 3 cars.

High-chair/stair-gate available free of charge.

Dolphin Rock is a fabulous holiday house either for one family/ for two families to share or indeed a large group of up to 9 adults. It is fully equipped with all the essentials to make for a relaxing break in Cornwall. It is within easy walking distance from the residents only beach and also within a 5 Min walk from the famous harbour of Charlestown which boasts 2 pubs and a few restaurants and tea-rooms. Porthpean is also within a 15 min walk and is ideal for children as it is in a sheltered bay. Dolphin Rock is in an ideal location from which you can explore Cornwall either by foot or by car and is within easy reach of coastal walks and cycle paths.

St Austell is a short drive from Dolphin Rock and offers a new cinema complex, ten-pin bowling, sports centre and swimming pool. Of course St Austell also caters for the day-to-day needs so getting in the last minute BBQ bits and some wine is not a chore.

Fantastic Holiday Home

We had a wonderful stay at Dolphin Rock. It was a lovely short walk to Charleston where we spent a couple of evenings, we even managed to visit on Regatta week!

It is in a great location for day trips to other towns in the area. We managed to visit, Padstow, Port Isaac and St Ives, all in no more than an hour.

The house its self is well equipped with everything you might need, especially if you have children. Our two boys loved it!

I would highly recommend a stay at Dolphin Rock it was fab.

Thank you so much for helping to make make our holiday extra special.

Lovely house, well equipped.

Only a bbq could be clean and ready to use as we had to buy a brush and clean it before we've could use it and it would be an easier to have a cod bed in the bedroom on the first floor instead of second... apart from that all good:)

Harbour, pub, beach about 10-15 walk downhill , slightly longer on way back !

Had a lovely time. Property and area were everything we required and more.

Dolphin Rock is a fairly new 3 storey property built in cottage style on a small to medium sized development of similar properties. On arrival, the property was immediately recognisable from the photos. There is a driveway providing good off road parking for up to three cars. We gained access as described in the excellent pre arrival instructions. I walked in and - wow! It was spotlessly clean, as you would expect. The owner had gone that little bit further, maybe as we were here to celebrate my wife's 60th. It wasn't either of these things, nice as they were, though that stood out. It was the feeling of space, which the accurate photos had failed to show. We were a party of 6 adults, one 6 yr old, two 2 yr old and a baby, not forgetting our dog. There was ample room for all of us. It never felt crowded, save that the dining room was cosy with all of us sitting down for meals. Two chairs were re-located from the kitchen to facilitate this. Two stair gates and a high chair were provided. What was great were the number of children's toys and the second TV with an ample supply if dvds and children's books.

Any down sides? Whereas inside was spacious, outside was less so and suffered from trees overhanging from adjacent woodland. This provides shade, but any rain/wind causes the whole area to be covered with leaves. The whole garden seemed overdue a bit if a trim, though if the weather had been hot and sunny, the shade might have been useful.

The Jewel in the Crown? Access to a lovely dog friendly beach for residents only - and those who use the cliff path. For our party this was the cherry on the cake without a doubt and can't understand why more is not made of it, although I accept it is a strenuous walk, there are no facilities or lifeguard. On the other hand it is not crowded and perfectly safe.

Charlestown is also a gem. Within easy walking distance it has a historic harbour and museum to explore (small charge). There is also a beach, pubs with good food and a very nice restaurant.

Within easy driving range is the Eden project, Dairyman and the Lappa Valley railway all worth a visit, not forgetting Mevagissey and my favourite Gorran Haven.

A lovely house in good location.

A clean and generally well equipped home. Bedrooms were a good size and there was plenty of storage. Kitchen was well equipped and cooker easy to use. We all enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again. It was great being able to take the dog.

However a couple of areas need updating to maintain the standards.

The decking at the back needs a bit of work; one seat on one of the settees needs replacing; in one of bedrooms on first floor mirrors on wardrobes are cracked and chair in other bedroom is a bit wobbly. We also had some problems with lock on front door - a bit temperamental so we took a set of patio keys out with us,

A £200 deposit is required before arrival and is returned within 1 week of departure once the house has been checked for damages etc.
During peak periods we adhere to a Friday changeover but will consider a mid-week changeover at a higher rate. Please enquire.
A maximum of 2 dogs will be considered at Dolphin Rock (please enquire), but an additional cleaning cost of £70 per dog is payable.
Cancellation policy; strictly no refunds and non-transferrable on all stays.
