Tawny cottage is a pretty carr stone cottage typical of the area and is located in a quiet south facing terrace set in the very heart of the lovely unspoilt coastal village of Heacham. There are several shops Pubs and Restaurants located nearby and the beach is just a 15 minute walk away. Notable for being the home of Norfolk Lavender and surrounding lavender fields, Heacham is also well known for its associations with Pocohontas. The village lies just 2 miles south of the popular tourist resort of Hunstanton The long stretches of golden sandy beaches of Old Hunstanton, Holme, Thornham, Brancaster etc for which North Norfolk is so well known are just around the corner. Tawny Cottage is perfectly situated for visiting the Queen’s private estate at Sandringham and other stately homes such as Holkham Hall, Oxborough Hall and Houghton Hall This area is also well known to bird watchers and the RSPB’s reserves at Snettisham and Titchwell are situated very nearby. Well behaved dogs welcome. To contact the owners directly with any queries please phone 07870 575303.

Perfectly situated for access to several beaches, pubs, restaurants, places of interest.
Neat & tidy cottage, well equipped with everything we needed. Ate at several of the eateries recommended by the owners and certainly wasn't disappointed at any of them. The village has a chip shop (delicious), Indian takeaway and several pubs, a bakery, Tesco, Mccolls, gym. We couldn't believe how dog friendly North Norfolk is, we were invited into several shops too with our pooch. Will definitely book again.
Cosy comfortable cottage in a great location!
The cottage was really cosy and comfortable. We really enjoyed the location with many amazing beaches within easy reach. Not only a dog friendly cottage for our two springer spaniels but the whole area is so welcoming to dogs too.
We could not have had a better place to stay and have no hesitation in recommending Tawny cottage to family and friends. We hope to return some time in the future. Many thanks.
Very nice comfortable property
Really enjoyed the 7 night stay
Comfortable, well equipped, sun front and back
It really is not big enough for four as one bedroom is very small and the sitting room only has a sofa and an armchair. Otherwise, it’s very pleasant, with good heating and kitchen equipment. One big lack is a veg peeler!
Nice cottage in a good lovation
Clean and tidy throughout. Warm and comfortable too.
Lovely cottage and great location
The location was ideal to visit lots of places on the north norfolk coast. The cottage was great, warm, clean and had everything you needed. I would certainly come again!
1 mile to Heacham beach or 15 minutes walk (sand and shingle)
2 miles to Hunstanton beach (mostly sand)
Long open stretches of sandy beach for which north Norfolk is so well known start from 2 miles away.
Hunstanton town is a popular tourist resort and is located two miles from Heacham.
Kings Lynn is 11 miles away and the market town of Fakenham is 20 miles from Heacham.
Norfolks capital city of Norwich is about 37 miles away and takes just over 1 hour to get there but its well worth a visit.
Tawny Cottage is well located for shops as the village of Heacham hosts a good variety of butchers, bakers, pubs and restaurants. The post office is very nearby along with a fish monger and a Tesco express. Larger supermarkets can be found in nearby Hunstanton.
