Beach House Mundesley, North Norfolk - Perfect for Hen weekends, birthday weekends with friends, summer holidays, Christmas and New Year
About Imogen Swallowe
We bought Beach House in 2007 after viewing it on a stormy night in November, the wind was howling and the sea, which we could see and hear opposite the house was amazing and dramatic! Beach House needed a lot of work, and we have lovingly stripped the house out and rebuilt it as a beautiful, mainly white interior house with lovely stripped floors, and luxurious furnishings. We love Beach House and hope you will too. Beach House is a big, spacious house, perfect as a hen party venue, or birthday party venue, enough space to sleep 16 of your friends and family, enough space to spread out, or eat dinner together and enough to escape each other too. We have four children so it's very child friendly and we don't mind sticky fingers, and sand in the beds!

Why Imogen Swallowe chose Mundesley
Right opposite the house is a path down to the beach, it's a matter of steps and you can see the beach from the bedroom windows. If you are bringing children it's so easy to park the car and just go up and down the steps to the beach with them, it's so convenient for young families. We have four dedicated car parking spaces opposite the house in the car park of The Ship. Mundesley is a lovely sea side village, it has a thriving village with lots of little village shops including greengrocers, butchers, deli, post office, cafes, gift shops etc. We also have a great chinese takeaway, a Spar shop open till 10pm each night and even on Christmas day, fish and chip shop. The locals are always up to something, either Am Dram, or village fetes, or fundraisers for the Inshore lifeboat team. The local pub is almost opposite the house, it's a village pub full of locals, log fires.
What makes this Chateau / Country House unique
Mundesley has a mini golf course and amusement arcade, a fantastic park for children which is new, and a skate park and Astro turf for older children, our 9 year old and 12 year old love to go there with scooters, skateboards or the football. We are very close to Cromer and all the delights of the North Norfolk coast, including Sheringham and the steam trains, Blakeney for seal trips, Felbrigg Hall and Blickling Hall for walks and culture. Cromer has a cinema and end of the pier theatre. Sheringham has a full programme of Plays and films and you can get to Norwich for a day shopping in 35 minutes. If you come with a big group all the major supermarkets deliver to the house so that makes things much easier. Also we have an excellent Personal Chef contact who regularly visits to cook special dinners for birthday parties. If you are coming for a hen weekend we have numerous activities we have organised, from Butler in the Buff, traveling beauty therapists, cocktail classes, surf school, cupcake classes, craft classes, Mad Hatters tea Party etc. Please see our dedicated hen page for more information specifically for Hens:

International family gathering
Our extended three generation family descended on Beach House in Mundesley from England, Denmark and Portugal. We had the most enjoyable time together in this lovely property. Location and facilities are perfect. Imogen has thought of everything and we all agreed we couldn’t have found a better place for our biennial get together.
We would recommend this house for a relaxed, comfortable stay in a traditional seaside village.
Great memories of a great place.
Very nice indeed.
Amazing house in an excellent location!
Superb house which easily accommodated 16 ladies, beautifully decorated , with lovely touches. Dead opposite the pub, which has an excellent restaurant and a 1 minute walk to the beach! Can’t wait to return!
Perfect in every way!
We booked the house to celebrate a 50th birthday, there was 14 of us staying in the house with age ranges from 18 months to 50 years old.
The house was perfect, from the moment we walked in there was the wow factor, the details how the house is decorated and finished are simply stunning. The house has a lovely homely yet boutique feel about it. It was the perfect location for a perfectly chilled weekend. It really is faultless.
We especially loved the kind welcoming treats of flowers and chocolates, this was a lovely gesture.
I and my extended family (6 adults and 6 children ranging from 2 to 12) have just returned from a fabulous week at the Beach House in Mundesley. There was loads of space in the 7 bedrooms and they allow lots of permutations for different party sizes and configurations, and the property has been designed to cater for large numbers. The kitchen is amazing with a massive cooker, two fridges (one became known as the beer and wine fridge) two dishwashers (a fabulous idea to avoid loads of washing up) masses of forks and knives and every kitchen appliance you could possibly need. Not only was the inside well thought out but also the outside. The covered eating area coped with all of us and there was seating to spare. We even ate out while it was raining and we were perfectly dry. The barbecue was fantastic for cooking alfresco, and there was also another covered seating area for late night gossiping. And to top it all there was a hot tub and a sauna which young and old all enjoyed.
The Beach House was in a perfect position with the Beach access straight in front of the house (ideal if here is a sudden shower for dashing back). There is a pub over the road, a chippy 3 minutes walk away and a Chinese 5 minutes away.
The owners were really welcoming and provided a super welcome basket on arrival.
I can't recommend this place enough and we will definitely return again.
A really stunning property with a a home from home feel.
The owners have thought of everything and nothing is overlooked to make this a perfect holiday home.
Special interest holidays:
