About this property

Seaside Hideaway - Free Onstreet Parking

## Space

Lovely lower ground flat by the seaside.

Last renovated in January 2024.

Sleeps 2 Adults + 2 Children.

Please ensure to specify if more than 2 people will be staying. By default we only leave bedding out for the double bed, when additional people are staying we leave out additional bedding **very important**.

This flat is ideally suited for a couple, however the sofa in the sitting room can be folded out to provide 2 additional single beds suitable for children.

Situated in an enviable position on the North Bay cliff top area of Scarborough, a short stroll will bring you to numerous shops, pubs and really good restaurants. A 10-minute walk will take you into the heart of Scarborough where you can enjoy a taste of a true British holiday beside the sea, complete with Blue Flag awarded swimming beach, well-maintained amusement arcades, traditional gift shops, and harbourside stalls selling locally made rock candy and fresh shellfish.

Scarborough's harbour area and piers are where to head, for fishing trips and boat trips and to view the famous 1930s lighthouse. There are numerous activities in Scarborough for all ages including swimming, golfing, fishing, indoor go-karting, bowling, cinemas and lots more.

Traveling slightly further, you can appreciate the beautiful North York Moor National Park, and Dalby Forest is a great place to visit for mountain bike enthusiasts, with some excellent pathways and cycle tracks and the famous Go Ape assault course that the kids will love.

Ground floor flat in a Victorian townhouse. Recently renovated and decorated in a simple but stylish manner. The property consists of a Master bedroom, Sitting Room, Kitchen / Diner & two small bathrooms with a Shower and toilet in each.

The kitchen & diner is outfitted with a 2 burner electric hob, a combined Microwave convection oven, integrated fridge freeze, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, and a kitchen table large enough for 4 people.

The sitting room contains two small sofas that convert too two single beds suitable for children. An additional arm chair, a breakfast table that can extend to sit 4 people.

Quality linen and towels are provided with the rental as well as small basics such as handsoap, and dishwasher tablets. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure.

A highchair and travel cot are also provided.

Everything you need for a romantic escape for 2 people, or a budget holiday for a young family.

The windows are on street level with Venetian blinds and curtains provided for privacy. The back faces an internal sheltered courtyard planted with ferns and evergreens.

## Access

The flat is located on the lower ground (basement) floor. There are four steps down from street level to the apartment.

## Neighborhood

This is a quiet street located above the North Bay. When you walk out the front door you are a thirty-second walk to the top of the cliff and its beautiful view over North Bay and the castle. There are benches on the cliff where you can relax and admire the view - the sun sets over land, but the colours of the sky over the sea are often spectacular here.

I am a big fan of sitting on a clifftop bench, watching the sunset as I eat fish and chips (from North Bay Fisheries by Peasholm Park).

North Bay has a a selection of nice cafes. The most popular is the Watermark serving organic, locally farmed produce, and fabulous breakfasts all year round.

Just across from the Watermark, you can find, a wetsuit, kayak, and surfboard hire, as well as surfing lessons. The same parade of shops also has a Nisa Local, an ice cream parlor, and Doorstep Adventures selling souvenirs, Crocs, and wellies, as well as lovely things.

If you turn left out of the house you are a short walk from both South Bay Beach and the town centre with all the shops and restaurants.

At least three of Scarborough's restaurants have been mentioned in the Michelin guide: Jeremy's, The Green Room, and Lanterna. All walking distance from the house.

You can get to the castle at the top of Castle Road in less than ten minutes, a walk that takes you past Anne Brontë's grave in St Mary's churchyard.

Scarborough train station is about 1.25km through the town center, which is about a 20-minute stroll. Taxis should cost no more than £6.

## Parking

On-street parking is available using complimentary scratch cards during the duration of your stay. Parking in Scarborough can be difficult, especially in Summer, and it cannot be guaranteed and you may have to walk some distance from your vehicle to the property. The parking zone is A2

Liked: Location
Short stay
I stayed in the property from the 24th October til the 26th October, location was great. Nice walk to get into Scarborough itself. The only downside to the stay was the neighbours upstairs banging around and stuff, kept me and my kids awake for the first night.

Nice flat in a great location!!
Lovely well kept ground floor flat with small enclosed outdoor area perfect for our little Yorkie Yodas late night loo break! Location is perfect and parking options were a bonus having both garage (as long as not a big car) and on street options! Only minor down points shower heads need changing, one of the loos had a small leak and nothing owner can do about the last one but we had what sounded like a troop of baby elephants upstairs doing the river dance at 6am every morning didn't bother me as much it did our little dog so just to be aware. We would love to stay again in the future!
