About the property

The house has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, large living room and a lovely terrace.

The bedrooms on the ground floor are spacious and well equipped with good beds for 4 people. Both bathrooms are here. Is one more, someone has to sleep on sofa beds in the living room on the 1st floor. The living room, with kitchen and dining table, is equipped with the most. One can also prepare food on the terrace at the top, for example grill. In the patio you can enjoy the shade if it gets too hot. In the living room and the kitchen there is electric stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, hand blender, coffee machines, all of household furniture, TV, stereo system and router for the WiFi Internet. There is air conditioning in every room. The price includes everything ( electricity, cleaning, linen, towels, etc.). Unfortunately we don't accept domestic animals, but we permit smoking in the patio or at the terrace. Children are of course welcome.

When we receive your order, we will send you various documents, such as a contract for our common safety, the house's rules and standards with a lot of practical information and various guides and recommendations.

The house is entered in the Registro de Turismo de Andalucía (VFT / GR00958) and meets all requirements for Vivienda con Fines turísticos. This means that we must document all rentals under Spanish laws and tax requirements.

About Svein Erik Halvorsen

We are a Norwegian couple in the fifties who bought this house in the summer of 2014. We have refurbished it outside and inside, but it is still a simple and rustic village house. For us, however, it is charming and we like it so. The village is also very charming. We recommend you explore the Old Town, with the Arab Castle, the medieval church and the historic museum. From the house you walk up to the castle in about 10-15 minutes (you can also drive a car), and this walk is really worth doing. From the castle you can enjoy unforgettable views of the sea, the green fields and the mountains of Sierra Nevada. From November to April, the peaks are covered with snow. Salobreña is one of the most beautiful villages in Spain!

Why Svein Erik Halvorsen chose Salobreña

We chose to buy this house primarily because it is located by the sea and in the province of Granada, an area we had previously visited repeatedly, providing countless opportunities for cultural and outdoor activities. When the choice fell on Salobreña, it was not accidental. The city is among Spain's most beautiful and the climate of this coast (Costa Tropical) is perhaps the mildest throughout Spain. From here it is also close to the mountains of Sierra Nevada, and large cities such as Granada and Malaga is about an hour away.

What makes this house unique

The reason why we fell for just this house was above all the layout, the view and the proximity to the beach. Unlike most houses in the old town, this one had a solution with two plans, with relatively large footprint. Both bedrooms on the ground floor and the living room and kitchen on the 1st floor are thus relatively large. In addition, the house has a nice patio and an inviting terrace with beautiful views.

Almost all activities are possible within a short distance from Salobreña. I can mention tennis, golf, kayaking, diving and cycling. We spent 12 days here in February/March. Spacious house with lovely views. Very well equipped and scruprulously clean. Well situated for visits to the town and the beach. Superb terrace for eating out. Caretaker on hand with helpful local advice etc. Good value

The house is located in Salobreña’s very charming old town, and it has a great view of the ocean and parts of the mountains. It is located in a staircase, so the access is limited to the disabled. However, you can park nearby, 2 minutes from the house. All important facilities are within a walking distance. The nearest bars, restaurants and supermarkets lie about 5 minutes away, various other shops likewise. The large sandy beach is barely 10 minutes away. Besides enjoying the beach life you should visit several of the excellent restaurants located by the sea. Despite its central location, the house lies in a quiet residential area, where most of the residents are Spaniards.

If you want to explore the beautiful village, with the great Moorish castle, the medieval church and the historical museum – and simultaneously enjoy an authentic Spanish village, you should walk up (One can also drive). After about 10-15 minutes you will reach the castle, and then it will reveal a beautiful view of the ocean, the fertile green fields and the high mountains of Sierra Nevada. From November to April, the mountains are covered in snow. Salobreña is among the most beautiful villages in Spain!

Salobreña is a good base to explore the province of Granada. Spain’s most visited monument – the Arab Alhambra Palace – is just under an hour by car away. And is one first in Granada, there are very many attractions you should visit here. We recommend an overnight to catch the main. If you wish to discover the folk culture and gain experiences in nature, we recommend going to La Alpujarra, a mountainous region with many picturesque villages, situated south of the Sierra Nevada. Up here there are coming tourists and artists from around the world, whether for walking in the scenic national parks, eating typical dishes or buying local handicrafts, or simply to settle and live of their art. La Alpujarra begins in Órgiva, about 30 minutes from Salobreña. We could recommend very many other excursions and activities on the basis of Salobreña, but it would take too far to declare all here. In the house you will find much useful information about this.
