About Bridget Karaaslan
I am Bridget Karaaslan and with my husband Sakir, run a well established estate agency called Black Lion in Kalkan. I own and manage a very small selection of Kalkan properties catering for between 2 to 6 people, with a variety of locations and suitable for various budgets.
Bridget Karaaslan purchased this Villa in 2012
Why Bridget Karaaslan chose Kalkan
Villa Evin was built by us and is located just a few doors from our own permanent home in Kisla Kalkan. But don't worry you wont see us. We love the Kisla area of town for its peace and quiet, easy proximity to the sea with a choice of beach clubs and water taxis into the harbour.
What makes this Villa unique
Villa Evin is literally 80m from the sea front. You can not get closer than that! Property this close to the water is a rare find such that you hear the waves whilst enjoying the general peace and tranquility that the area has to offer. The nearby Beach club offers a water taxi service to the town centre and is great if you don't want to bother to go far to eat. In 2019 we completely refurbished the pool and jacuzzi pool reducing the pool depth to a safe and more comfortable 145-150cm and improving accessibility of the concrete pool steps.

Definitely recommend this villa
Property was super clean and tidy when we arrived. Great location with beach clubs near by and a 5 min taxi ride to the main town. Pool was a great size with a lovely view.
Seamless experience. Only one issue which was quickly rectified. Pool and jacuzzi were spotless ad was the entire property. We have rented from Bridget and Sehir for a couple of years and always have a great time.
Had an amazing time at villa Evin ....Location was great with the option of a what's app taxi or a ferry boat ride in to town. Villa was really lovely ...understated decor and spotlessly clean. Bridget was a great host. ..would recommend the villa to anyone
Great villa with great views
Villa Evin, is a superb villa lovely and clean and lovely outside space with plenty of umbrellas. Also what I really liked is that the villa provided pool pillows which made for comfortable sunbathing. As we arrived early May we had the pool heated which was lovely. Also a two minute walk from the castle which is great for lunch, dinner and breakfast .
Thanks Jo for your review. I am glad you enjoyed the heated pool. It really does make a difference at the beginning and end of the summer season.
This was our 3rd time in this lovely villa it’s always clean and well maintained and Bridget is always on hand for advice or if any problems occur.Kisla is just a boat taxi away from Kalkan where there are excellent restaurants to choose from we’ve still not tried them all as there’s such a big choice but the ones we have tried have all been amazing, we will definitely be back it’s our favourite place to be.
This was the first time we stayed in Kalkan (normally visit Dalyan).
The villa, location and Kalkan itself is magical!
The villa was spotless, fresh and had every basic you would need and more. It is a superb and spacious villa with a luxury feel The views from every room in the house were stunning views over the bay. We arrived at night and the evening view of kalkan was breathtaking! The air conditioning was superb! We needed it!
The furniture both inside and out is top quality.
Bridget was fabulous and came to welcome us on our first day to check all was ok and to say she was on hand if we needed it. When we found a broken catch on a window we let her know and she promptly sent someone to fix it. So good.
The pool was glorious and maintained spotlessly clean daily. We spent hours in the pool gazing over the bay watching the boats, paragliding and speed boats. It was such a pleasure.
We were literally metres from the beach park. The beach park is glorious! Fantastic staff, great food and top views!! The views again are amazing and a lovely place to come for cocktails and to get the water taxi over to main Kalkan which in itself was a highlight of the holiday. What a way to travel!!
Kalkan town itself is an absolute dream. Superb harbour, amazing array of shops and wonderful restaurants and bars. The cobbled streets are so gorgeous. We were completely won over by the friendliness of everyone we came across. We made some friends in the restaurants and look forward to keeping in touch.
We are already planning a return trip and depending on how many people come next time we would love to return to Villa Evin.
I highly recommend this villa and Kalkan as a place to stay. The best relaxing holiday we have ever had.
Special interest holidays:
Kalkan is ideal for all types of water activities. The Bay has a Blue Flag Award for cleanliness and is ideal for a PADI diving course or learning to sail or water ski. Keen walkers & hikers can explore parts of the ancient Lycian Way which passes directly through the town. On Patara Beach are early morning horse ridding sessions and in the summer Yoga classes are available on the sea front at Villa Mahal. Kalkan will inspire any photographer or painter with numerous photo and painting opportunities so don't forget to bring your camera and brushes. Turkish cooking classes are usually available through Guru's restaurant along with wine tasting evenings.
The villa is a 2 minute stroll from the Kalkan Beach Club and a 5 minute walk to Villa Mahal beach club and hotel. From the beach clubs you can catch water taxis to the town centre/harbour and from there to other beach clubs around the bay. The nearest sandy beach is Kaputas, a small beach at the bottom of a gorge with turquoise blue water and just 5 minutes by car/local bus. The 18km sandy beach at Patara (protected nature reserve and totally unspoilt) is a 20 minute car/local bus ride away.
Nearest airport is Dalaman a 75-90 min car journey. An alternative is Antalya a 2½ - 3 hours drive by car. We advise a private airport transfer on arrival to the villa, which we can arrange - although it is possible to travel with local transport or to hire a car at the airport and drive yourself. We would advise a car for this villa although you can manage without and rely on the water taxi/road taxis and small local shops.
The next nearest town to Kalkan is Kas, a 27km / 30 min drive away. Kas is worth visiting just for the stunning scenery on the coastal road. The nearest large town is Fethiye a 50 minute drive away with its bustling market, harbour and fish restaurants. Many historical sites are within a 45 minute drive of Kalkan including Xanthos, Tlos, and Pinara. Other places of interest are Saklikent Gorge, and the traditional villages of Bezirgan and Islamlar just a short drive up into the Taurus Mountains.
In the immediate vicinity are cafes/restaurants at the local beach clubs. The area also has two small shops for daily supplies and the larger town centre supermarkets will deliver. Kalkan has 5 major banks all with cash machines accepting most credit cards plus a local post office. Internet cafes and phone shops to stay in touch with home. There are English speaking doctors and a dentist if required. Don’t miss the experience of a Turkish bath or Hamam at the Atlantis well being centre, where there is also a small gym for fitness enthusiasts. Kalkan is well known for its array of excellent restaurants high up on roof terraces in the old town or by the harbour. Don't miss the traditional eateries like Belgin's kitchen with authentic Turkish food, live Turkish music and the chance to smoke a water pipe or the small kebab houses, pizza and pancake restaurants. Must Do's When In Kalkan: A day trip to Kekova/Simena, Saklikent Gorge and A Boat Trip On Kalkan Bay.
