Cottage in Brighton, Sussex, England - Beautifully Renovated French Country Style Property Within Easy Reach Of All Areas Of Brighton

The terraced cottage has been recently beautifully renovated in a French style to create a calm space with muted colour tones and furnishings throughout. A few steps from the street lead into the open plan living/dining room which has a comfortable 3 seater sofa, and 2 arm chairs, opposite a stone fireplace. A 28" flat screen TV and DVD along with broadband and wifi access are all inclusive. There is a round painted dining table and 4 chairs with 4 additional chairs dotted around the property. The separate kitchen continues the country theme with wooden shaker style units and integrated appliances. The spacious modern bathroom has an air of luxury with modern bathroom suite and travertine tiles throughout. The 2 double bedrooms include French style beds, along with walnut veneer wardrobes with floor to ceiling curtains in toile de jouy. The luxurious bed throws, antique French chandeliers and old fashioned cast iron radiators add to the ambiance. There is a walled patio garden.

Outside: There is a small patio garden to the rear including bench seats and a table and chairs along with a barbecue. Utility Room: The washing machine is in an outhouse accessed from the rear door in the dining room. There are cupboards under the stairs which house the electrical consumer unit, an iron and iron board, brooms, hover and cleaning goods. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels and bed linen are provided and changed weekly. The house is cleaned after each visitor, however the house should be left as found as on arrival or an appropriate cleaning charge will be applied.

Very comfortable and well situated

We stayed here twice, exactly a year apart. The location is excellent and the house is well-equipped and very comfortable. There are local shops, cafes and pubs, and the walk into central Brighton is pleasant. We particularly like the open-plan lounge-dining room which is great for eating and socialising with our family, and we look forward to coming again. The only snag is that street parking is limited, as is commonly the case in town locations. However, we have always been able to park the car within a five minute walk.

Nice house but.....

Nice house but in need of a good clean, all the chanaleliers need to be washed the two kettles were filthy shelves and games basket very dusty. The whole place could do with a spring clean. Bedding and towels were lovely just not enough towels one per person. The patio was very untidy and in need of weeding, the plants were half dead though lack of watering.The fridge smelt awful an eggcup of bicarbonate soon sorted that out. One of the neighours were rude to us for no particular reason. We did have a lovely time in Brighton and surrounding areas

Perfect cosy home away from home

5* for both the place and Grainne.

We spent two nights in the property with my friends and it was the perfect home away from home, had all the essentials to cook so we could enjoy a lovely night in, the beds and bedding were increadibly comfy which guaranteed a good night sleep and the whole place is just very tastefully decorated and comfortable.

We had some complications with one of the girls dropping out who had the booking under her name and Grainne was absolutely brilliant making sure all the info reaches the right recipient and our stay was as seamless as possible.

The location was perfect for us, nice walk to town with shops nearby for our essentials. I can't fault the place or our stay, highly recommended.

It is 15 walk to the famous pebbled beaches of Brighton.


Central London is easily accessible by train in less than an hour. London Gatwick airport is 30 minutes away by train/taxi. London Heathrow is about an hour away. The ferry to Dieppe in France at Newhaven is 20 minutes drive away.

Regular buses run from either end of Carlyle Street into/around the city.


The house is 15 minutes walk from the centre of town, the Pavilion and the beach front. Buses run frequently from the end of the road and take 5 minutes.

Further Details:

Brighton is a town for all ages offering a wealth of activity, from beaches, parks, art galleries museums, to countless pubs and restaurants, along with a nightlife and music scene catering for all tastes. There are numerous festivals and events held throughout the year.

Hanover is renowned for its pubs and restaurants.

Changeover day is flexible but arrival is from 4pm on the first day, and departure is by 10.30am on the last day.

Notes on prices:
Prices are based on 4 people sharing for one week. An extra charge for the use of the sofa bed /linen will be applied on bookings for 5 or more. This charge is £50.
Longer term lets are available and prices are negotiable. Prices on last minute bookings are negotiable.
