The village of Great Henny is very rural but offers all you need, including a shop and riverside pub/restaurant.The property is close to the ancient market town of Sudbury, set in the Stour Valley in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and dates back to Saxon times where there is a long history in the weaving and silk industries. Most of the work produced by artist Thomas Gainsbourgh was inspired by the beauty of this lovely town, where you can now visit his birthplace, art gallery and museum exhibiting a number of his paintings. The area is particularly famous for the work of Constable and is referred to as Constable Country. The River Stour provides the setting for much of his work.
